Pickles were spears in a breading that was crisp and tasty - these are so good and sho I love be added to the permanent menu. Tbh whenever I see fried pickles, I always order them. I also ordered the Classic Throwback: #6 ( description copied straight from their website) - Grilled chicken, grilled asparagus, shaved parmesan cheese, fresh lemon, extra virgin olive oil and roasted garlic mayo served on ciabatta bread $17.67 - the perfect sandwich , so full of flavor, chicken grilled to perfection. I could only eat half while at the resto. Hours later I ate the other half and I and it cold and it was still perfectly delicious. I even tasted more of the flavors this time around. It's been six years since I last came here. The food is still pretty good and the service was friendly, but overall I found the sandwiches a bit overpriced. The menu has very detailed, almost elevated descriptions that make everything sound spectacular, but in practice the flavors don't quite come through, especially the sauces, which are barely noticeable. Our server was flexible when we asked to swap the potato chips for fries on the kids' grilled cheese meal, which we appreciated. However, we were then charged $1.40 for a side of ranch for the fries. I understand they have a range of specialty sauces and dips that are clearly priced on the menu, but that still felt steep for ranch. They also offer a combo option to add fries for $5, but the portion doesn't really feel aligned with the price. The steak sandwich itself was surprisingly tender, even though it looked like it might be tough. That said, I couldn't taste the roasted red pepper sauce, and the "sweet onion jam" turned out to just be caramelized onions. My mother actually ended up picking them out because she doesn't eat onions. (she won't eat onions that she can see) The buffalo cauliflower was tasty, but could have been crispier. The "serves two" description also felt a bit generous given the small portion. I also ordered a brisket sandwich to go with fries. The coleslaw sounded great on the menu, but in reality the flavors didn't stand out, no real hint of jalapeño, just a fairly standard slaw. They have a good amount of table (regular, high tops and outdoor) and bar seating. It does get tight if you're waiting on a table. Service is attentive and friendly. I've been a few times, and it's a pretty consistent spot. I always get their Belgian Fries. They're fried perfectly and hold that crisp well. I like to get an additional sauce (Wasabi Ranch is my favorite). I usually get a Knish. It sometimes doesn't hold its shape, because of how stuffed, but it's easy to fork and knife it. While at first glance it looked small it was plenty filling. Just wish it had more flavor. The menu described the brisket as sweet slow braised brisket, smoked gouda, caramelized onion gravy. I have no idea where the onion gravy nor sweet flavor was because it was nonexistent. Smoked gouda has a strong flavor and none of that came through either. I added pickles but still not much flavor so added salt and ketchup. I usually put ketchup on a knish but didn't expect to have to do it with this sandwich. My friend ordered a pressed sandwich with fried eggplant, roasted peppers, Italian cold cuts. It was huge, the bread pressed well but again no flavor. She asked for some oil and vinegar to add flavor. It was served in the same plastic container as the pickles with no top. It was impossible to mix the oil and balsamic together so my friend asked for a spoon but was mostly unsuccessful in combining the two. The Belgian fries were tasty but the additional wasabi cream we ordered as a dipping sauce (extra $1) didn't add anything to the taste. We winded up using ketchup to dip them in. The menu indicates the fries are for 2 people at $8.95. This is accurate as the order is big enough to be shared. Great food and great drinks. My favorite is any of their steak sandwiches. The steak is not dry and the pairing/combination is delicious. My personal favorite is #29. There are no other fries like this in Queens. They are legendary!!! I ordered takeout as I usually do and go the fries and buffalo chicken panini. The buffalo chicken panini was very yummy. The only thing that I would change is maybe pulse the celery instead of having long thin strips of it? It was hard to eat because of that but still very yummy. The buffalo sauce is awesome and so creamy. Fries might come a tad bit soggy when you order takeout which is normal but give it 1-2 minutes in the air fryer and they're as good as getting them inside the restaurant. So so so yum, can't express it enough. I also got the wasabi ranch. You need to get the wasabi ranch!!!
