On November 20th my wife was involved in a motor vehicle accident on US1 and young's road. The other driver was at fault and her insurance would be covering the cost of repairs to my 2020 Toyota Tacoma. My first mistake was not listening to a friend's recommendation to take this vehicle to Southern Pines Paint and collision and my second mistake was taking my brand-new truck to Overtons body shop. Overtons is probably the most well-known body repair shop in the Sandhills, and the most expensive. This cost doesn't really ever affect the customer since we, for the most part carry car insurance that is robust enough to cover almost any level of repair. Insurance was not the issue here, this body shop that holds some sort of elitist status is the real issue. I will quote the operations manager Kathy, my repair was "run of the mill" my repair was not a big deal. For a run of the mill body repair they had my truck almost as long as I owned it, they had my truck for nearly 3 months, 2 days shy to be exact. So, on that Friday when I picked up my truck, not a single employee met me to inspect my truck and conduct a walk through. The lady at the counter, Deb had me sign an insurance check and handed me my key. I got into my truck and it was on empty, 14 miles to E. I walked back in and asked Deb if this is an Overtons norm. At this point I was extremely frustrated and walked out and drove to the gas station on the corner of US1 and Saunders, this is when I inspected my vehicle and found several flaws in the repair. The passengers side head light had a 3-inch scratch, the radiator had not been replaced and many fins were bent from the accident, the grill was not properly painted, and the vehicle was not detailed like Kathy said it would be. The next morning, I called and spoke to Kathy and she assured me they would make these flaws right. I dropped my vehicle off again for what would be round 2 and exceeding 3 months that overtons would need my vehicle for a "run of the mill" repair. When I was called a few days later and told my vehicle was finished, the 3-inch scratch on the OEM headlight was worse than when I saw it with the original 3-inch scratch. The adjuster Scott said it was an easy repair and they had an OEM head light in stock. Later on, that day I called Scott and he said that he thought I was leaving my truck, I am glad I did not, and he then informed me that "management" said they would continue to work on sanding and buffing the OEM headlight but would not replace it. I asked him to have Kathy call me and he said he would pass the message along. Since then, it has been 6 days and no word from Kathy. I have called 6 times over the last 72 hours; I have left messages and I have yet to receive a call from Kathy. Not to mention I have on several occasions over the course of this project asked to speak to an owner and have been stone walled. This body shop lacks the integrity to do the right thing, they fail to uphold a standard they say they have and do not stand behind their work. As a consumer in a very small town, I am thoroughly disgusted by this body shop and would highly advise any patron from doing business with an organization that basically holds your vehicle hostage and refuses to do the right thing, let alone call a customer back. If zero-star ratings were a thing, they would be lucky to get that. read more

Easy online process. Efficiency in terms of establishing a time to come in for an initial review of my car (stated that it would be four days). I missed the original date for drop off (Monday) but they were very understanding. Once all the parts were in and contact was established with the insurance company I had my car back by Friday. The painter stayed late and finished the job. (Had he not I would have had to go without my car over the weekend.) Simple process, funny and friendly people. Love the lobby space. I was involved in an accident on October 10, 2020 and had my truck towed to Overtons for repair. My insurance paid for a rental for 30 days so I went ahead and got one thinking the truck would be ready in the 30 days or at least shortly there after. Boy, was I ever wrong! They said the truck would be ready the first of December. I finally picked it up December 24th! They had it for 11 weeks! After looking the truck over I noticed that they didnt paint the tire well on the bed. Not a big thing. Ill paint it later. Today I noticed that one of the rear seatbelt straps wasnt bolted down. Major safety hazard! I looked at other reviews and see awesume results. I dont know what happened. read more

Thus far We have been extremely unimpressed, and completely dissatisfied with the service from Overton. The work on our Ford F 150 is weeks -yes weeks- behind the original scheduling. Calls go unanswered and unreturned and when we do connect, they have nothing to tell us. (Other than they have difficulty getting parts for Ford 150s which is the reason for the delay). Customer service and any sense of accountability are completely nonexistent at Overton. Our one month insurance rental car benefit has expired and they are telling us that we still have another two weeks before they can get our truck repaired. I can not, in good conscience, recommend that anyone ever use this shop. The only recommendation I can give is to stay away!! read more

I have had terrific results on all three occasions in repairing my vehicle. Not only are they complete professionals, they also care about you as an individual. I am thoroughly disgusted with Overtons. They took what should have been a 5 day repair and stretched it out 27 days. Always some excuse, tech tearing apart the car (3 phone calls over a 8 day period) part not ANYWHERE in the United States etc. So they stretched it out. Way too far out. I'm currently working with my insurance company and NC Dept of Insurance to have them investigated for fraud. Because currently, I'm WALKING the 23 miles home. This is why....USAA told Overtons that they stopped paying on my rental vehicle on the 1st of October. Mind you this is already 4 days past when the car was supposed to be finished according to USAA'S estimate. SO.....USAA gave Overtons ANOTHER 5 days of rental allowance to cover time. They still weren't done! In the mean time, Enterprise deducted 311.23 from my account to cover the overage. Today is October 15th ANOTHER 13 days has past.... PAST the date that Overtons was given by my insurance to get my car done. So why am I walking home you ask? Because Overtons wanted me to pay the difference of the rental vehicle to them in order to get my car back. This is money I do not have (because it was locked in an account err marked for this repair) so Overtons kept my vehicle. They wanted me to figure out how to pay them the difference until Enterprise reimburses me the difference of what's owed. HOW IS THIS MY FAULT? They told me to call my parents to ask them for the money. They wanted me to ask my bank for a counter check (which they don't have and I didn't get checks because nobody accepts checks anymore) to secure the payment for their mess up! This company WILL leave you hanging. Oh! and BTW in the middle of this I had Covid. SO I gladly returned the covid infested vehicle to the shop that screwed me. Have fun with that! Don't ever trust your vehicle to this shop because they will do you like they did me. My only objective right now is to work with my insurance company and NCDOI and forward them all of the voice mails that kept telling me they needed more time needed more time etc. That way their preferred status as a repair shop for USAA goes the way of the Dodo and an investigation of their practices with the NC Dept of Insurance, the BBB and USAA will ensue. This is so messed up. I'm crying because my son and I (walking 23 miles home) have been penalized for their wrong doing. read more

Quite a bit frustrated with scheduling, waiting for the body shop to order parts and complete the repair on my car! I had an estimate completed on 4/11, then was scheduled to have my vehicle repaired on 5/7, so I had to drive my lovely car around all bent out of shape. Then in the day my car is dropped, they don't begin repairs because they received a damaged part! So, it takes another week to order and receive a new part! In the mean time, they don't begin repairs one bit (policy on when they begin repairs and scheduling is poor)! On the day I think I'll get my vehicle back, I am told they are having problems with a functional light (the most expensive part) and it requires them to tow it to the dealership for programming. It takes them another whole day to tow and get it scheduled! Please note I Full expected repairs to be completed between 5/7 and complete by 5/15 or 5/16 (a streamlined process). It is now 5/23 and I may get my car back on 5/25! Ridiculous! My car cannot be the 1st one of its like to repair! It should not have taken his long!!! I don't know that I will recommend you to others! I am beyond frustrated driving a piece of junk that does not even compare, a car that the rental company could care less for as evident by lack of checks/inspections as well! Get your act together! Let's be quite clear, I am by no means dissatisfied with the quality of work or workmanship. I am dissatisfied with timing and lack of planning! read more

About 10 years ago I wrecked my front end and took it to this shop for repair. It was a major job and they did well, the best I can remember. Recently my car was bumped in a parking lot. Minor dent and scratch. It was estimated 2 or 3 days for repair. That was two and a half weeks ago. I'm still waiting to get my car back. read more

Do not use this shop. I turned in my vehicle on and took a rental from this company. I turned in my vehicle and paid my deductible of $500 and $30 for a state inspection. My rental ended on 07OCT2017. Their was no issues with my rental that date. Hurricane Matthew hit on 08OCT2017. On 17OCT2017 Lance Caddell. In the voicemail he said he rented the vehicle out "I had it roll out", but asked if I had damaged it. He claimed I had undercarriage damage on the vehicle. He could not provide proof. I had a second call at 1400 that day on speaker phone or a recording from an unnamed member of the shop. Asking the same questions in an aggressive way. I immediately reported it to USAA and they said it would not be an issue. I receive a call on 10 NOV 2016 where they told me I owed $30 dollars for my state inspection. I told them to check the receipts, because I had paid, they said, "Oh Sorry". I had still not been presented with any evidence just a vague "undercarriage damage". I hear nothing else from the shop until 28DEC2016 I receive a call from a restricted number about my accident on 10OCT2016 (remember I turned it in on 07OCT2017, my contract was over and a hurricane hit on 08OCT2016). I told them I did not know what they were talking about. I hung up and called my insurance company, and low and behold Overton Body Shop filed a claim, where they admit the accident occurred on 10OCT2016. I filed a dispute with enterprise, the next day and was told they would contact me to investigate, that has not happened. To recap, they admit the accident happened after I turned it in, Lance Caddell on 17OCT2016 rented out a hurricane damaged vehicle to a customer and they filed a claim on another customers account (almost 3 months after the fact). And they don't manage their books properly so they called and wanted me to double pay for my service. I have filed a complaint with both the National Insurance Crime Bureau (which investigates Fraud), the Better Business Bureau, with Enterprise Rental and with USAA. read more

I took my vehicle to Overton Body Shop, and have had a horrible experience. Initially, I was told that my car would be completed in one week. However, after one week, my car was not completed. I called and was told, " your car will be done tomorrow." This also was not the case. I called 5 days in a row, each day I was told tomorrow it would be completed. Ultimately it was a week of calling everyday, and then finally complaining that my wife had missed work, and my son had missed school due to us only reserving a car for a week, then being unable to find a car for the additional week of repairs. Finally when my car is completed, I went to the shop to pick it up, and pay my deductible, when I reach for my debit card the woman at the payments desk tells me that the shop "went ahead and waived my deductible." Sounds great right? Wrong! ONE MONTH LATER, I receive a phone call from Overton Body Shop saying that I owe them my deductible, which was "waived." I explained the situation and was asked to come in and talk to the manager, and point out who told me my deductible was taken care of, so I did. When I went in, I identified the clerk, and that they were sorry, and going to try and take care of this, and I would be contacted on Monday by phone (it was Friday). Well I never hear back from Overton Body Shop, and assume that this whole mess was straightened out, WRONG AGAIN! TWO AND A HALF WEEKS LATER, I receive a letter in the mail with an invoice to pay my deductible, and a pre addressed envelope to Overton Body Shop. The money is not the issue here, it is the fact that I did not ask for any favors, or to be "taken care of" from Overton Body Shop, it was offered to me by an employee. Then a month later it was reversed I was dragged back in there, and sent a bill. Is it policy for any shop to release a vehicle to a person that has not paid their bill? I don't think so, and my keys were released to me, with an invoice in which an employee wrote "0 due" on with pen. Not only will I NEVER return to Overton Body Shop, I will ensure my friends, family, and other Service Members I know avoid it completely. read more
