I believe there are only 5 or so rooms and on street parking is nice. Coming off I20 we passed through a bit of sketch but the building is in nice area. Notice the PD was only a few blocks away. We felt safe for our entire stay. As mentioned area seems to be growing new businesses so we hit the easy button on evening meal. There is new BBQ place on corner 100' from Hamilton House. I'll review it soon as I catch up. We stayed in the Alexis suite. We found it clean along with the other areas of the establishment. You take a partial step back in time as you hoof the stairs and make entry but all the modern conveniences are present. Bathroom and shower real nice and bed comfy. There's a nice back deck off the huge kitchen area. We ear marked that for another stay where the heat might not be so high but one could sit and relax under the shade and can almost anytime. Morning breakfast was served up nicely and the food delish. Some kind of breakfast egg casserole. We enjoyed light conversation with our cook and general proprietor learning how the family worked to update and start the place. We really liked the quiet and laid back time we spent even if overnight only. Much nicer that hitting a chain hotel. I understand they are constructing a brewery just a block away and visible from the back deck if that's your sort of thing. You should slow down off the interstate and give them a try!

It smelled like wet dog and a division 3 boys football team after practice in the heat of summer. We went in, smelled the room, gagged a bit, and hauled butt out. They had this weird rainbow air purifier in the room (that's the picture attached) so they had to have known it stunk. It was on floor 4 maybe in the 420s??? Thankfully, the worker at the time named Sterling was very accommodating and got us into a new room immediately. Then we were on the 2nd floor i forgot where exactly but the early 200s. It smelled... better.... we went back to the car and basically gassed the place in lysol. highly recommend bringing a can if you intend to stay there. The shower floor was literally so nasty and there was someone else's food still in the fridge. Breakfast was good and luckily they had different kinds of milks for allergy people such as myself. (almond, soy, ect) We also just had a really eery feeling the whole time we were there. It was lwk scary and I did not sleep well. We also got 2 random calls from reception at almost 10:30 pm asking to confirm the last name on the reservation. Like what?! Can this not wait till morning. Also. The cookies in the lobby don't get refreshed till 4pm. I know it's not of utmost important but i wanted a cookie after a long drive . Anyway, yeah!! However, that is not always possible, especially when traveling to smaller towns. In West Monroe, your options are limited to this level of hotel from all of the big chains. With that in mind, I encourage you to consider this Fairfield. Because of this hotel, I have chosen Fairfields across the country. I find that they are either great like this location or terrible. I would like more consistency across the brand so maybe those owners should travel here and see how they do it. The hotel is clean, has plenty of parking, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. I always find a good parking spot and the hotel is a quick drive from or onto the interstate. Despite being close to the highway, I rarely hear road noise. Even when it has been full, I also didn't hear other guests. If you need a stay for a night or two in West Monroe, check out this Fairfield.

As a Marriott platinum elite member, I've lodged at numerous hotels and I'm all for upgrading, especially when it enhances the guest experience. So, for the good....the room is spacious, including the bath area. The bed is comfy, the AC gets extremely cold and the blackout curtains are fantastic!! The lobby and dining areas are very nice, updated and comfortable for your leisure time. There is a gym and pool on the first floor across from the elevator. Breakfast is your usual. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal with all of the fixins' and condiments. Yogurt, juice, fruit, breads and coffee. For the not so great, there aren't enough electrical sockets in my room and the fridge is rather small. I wish there were rooms with bigger fridges for longer stay guests. Other than that, I'm very well pleased and would certainly recommend this establishment for lodging.
