We stayed there on 01Dec 24 on our way back from Texas Nice place plenty of parking around the building. Nursing home across the street, also on a dead end road so you could park your trailer there if necessary. It is located on the frontage road. Stacey checked us in and was highly professional, greeted me as a member. Also had some suggestions about restaurants in case we needed some. Room was extremely nice and comfortable, love the setup with the closet desk ensemble, sorry I did not get a picture. Breakfast was great all you would expect at a HIE good standards. Decaf coffee is available in the morning. They do accept pets, charge is $50.00 only stayed one night so not sure if it maxes out after so many days. Wish the rate was on the web site. Overall a good stay and would stay here again. read more

I never write reviews for hotels in general but omg this needed to happen. The first room we were in. barf. It smelled like wet dog and a division 3 boys football team after practice in the heat of summer. We went in, smelled the room, gagged a bit, and hauled butt out. They had this weird rainbow air purifier in the room (that's the picture attached) so they had to have known it stunk. It was on floor 4 maybe in the 420s??? Thankfully, the worker at the time named Sterling was very accommodating and got us into a new room immediately. Then we were on the 2nd floor i forgot where exactly but the early 200s. It smelled... better.... we went back to the car and basically gassed the place in lysol. highly recommend bringing a can if you intend to stay there. The shower floor was literally so nasty and there was someone else's food still in the fridge. Breakfast was good and luckily they had different kinds of milks for allergy people such as myself. (almond, soy, ect) We also just had a really eery feeling the whole time we were there. It was lwk scary and I did not sleep well. We also got 2 random calls from reception at almost 10:30 pm asking to confirm the last name on the reservation. Like what?! Can this not wait till morning. Also. The cookies in the lobby don't get refreshed till 4pm. I know it's not of utmost important but i wanted a cookie after a long drive . Anyway, yeah!! Bring a can of lysol and your own cookies and you should be good! Oh, and maybe some shower shoes. read more

I just called Holiday Inn Express in Ruston, LA and spoke to NIA (what she said her name is), at which time NIA stated she is the hotel manager. After stating my complaint to NIA, she put me on hold for a few minutes, then returned to the call to let me know she spoke to the hotel's general manager (named CARL, per NIA), who (per NIA) said he would not refund me because their hotel was sold out the night for which I requested a refund. My complaint was about the disgusting bathroom condition, primarily the water backup in the bathtub/shower, which resulted in us having to stand in a tub of 4-5 inches of backed up water while showering. In addition to the backed up bathtub, there was brownish-colored mold around the outer edges of the bath, where the bathtub meets the floor. I let NIA know I would be calling IHG to report my complaint, as I found NIA's and CARL's response to my complaint to be completely unreasonable. NIA went on to state my complaint to IHG would just "come back to us (Holiday Inn Express Ruston)", implying me calling IHG with my complaint would be a waste of my time. Per this experience, I would NOT recommend staying at Holiday Inn Express Ruston because management seems not to have a respect for and appreciation of their customers' experience, safety, and health during their stay at Holiday Inn Express Ruston. read more

Don't stay here!! I would have gave them a zero star but wouldn't let me. I checked in and got settled in the room. About an hour later someone walked in my room using another key and said sorry they gave me this room. I called downstairs and manager said sorry I don't know how this happened. Seriously? I travel regularly for work and look for hotel chains that are consistent, reasonable (accept my work rate), safe, clean, and located close to where I need to be. This HIE met all of my needs and then some. I am a frequent visitor to north Louisiana although I seldom stay in Ruston. West Monroe is usually where I sleep but this trip was different. Ruston was the perfect place so I set out to find an IHG hotel. The cost was reasonable and at check in I was greeted by a very friendly employee. She checked me in quickly and explained all the hotel had to offer. She was more thorough than any HIE I've been to. My room was clean and cool when I walked in. A cool room is huge so I appreciated that touch. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and had plenty of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The hotel is right off of the interstate and convenient to restaurants, the university, and other attractions. My one complaint is that the breakfast was mediocre. I don't expect hand made omelets or anything at an HIE but this was low on the hierarchy of HIE breakfasts. I will stay here when traveling through north LA. If you need a hotel in Ruston, you should stay here too. read more

Nea I believe was her name but she made my stay awesome. After checking into room 211 I discovered there wasn't anything left by the cleaning crew in the bathroom. No towels, soaps, Kleenex or even shower soaps that's attached to the wall. I was shocked but after going back downstairs she was very apologetic and made it right and had a smile the entire time. The huge room was pretty comfortable & the king bed was nice and especially after 16 hrs of flying and driving this was what I needed. The shower had decent pressure as well. Breakfast was ok I guess but nothing spectacular but hey it worked for me. I must say that the second floor has a nice smell in the halls. I would stay here again read more

This facility was extremely nice. Very clean and the room was super clean and very modern. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were so nice. Very clean and comfortable. They were very accommodating of our last minute, late night check in. We got a great room with two king beds and a mini sofa. It was quiet and the bed was a welcome reprieve from the car. Breakfast left a little to be desired but coming out of Covid, it's to expected. We would definitely stay again!! read more

We stayed here a little over two years ago and loved the area, the hotel itself and the price. What we didn't like was housekeeping stealing from us before we had even checked out. We got those items back that were stolen that time and let it go. Well we had a funeral to go to and decided to try this place out again and wouldn't you know it, they stole again. Only this time we had to check out and leave for the funeral immediately and couldn't come straight back. I called as soon as I realized, told them the room number and that they hadn't started cleaning it yet and that we had a funeral we were about to walk into. The gentleman I talked to said he would go look and call me back. I never heard from him or anyone else so I called after the funeral was over and told them we were on our way back to pick up our item. They said it was never found and haven't tried to do anything about it because their policy is that if it's lost or stolen on their property it's not their problem. So ! Even though the hotel is great and the breakfast is great and the location and price.. housekeeping will steal from you any chance they get. So make sure you TRIPLE check your things. What I forgot was incredibly sentimental to me and my family and can never be replaced. I wanted it with me though since we were attending a funeral and I deeply regret my choice. Before you check out, leave one person in the room at all times until you're completely sure you've got everything. They have been unwilling to try and help me at all. Never get call backs either. I'm absolute heartbroken and will never stay here again. Nor recommend anymore. read more

While it appears nice upon entry, the service is awful, we had to request housekeeping (we went days without service) we had to purchase soap; heard other guests complaining as well, and the front acted as though they were doing something special by cleaning our room after requesting it; other guests were told it was not apart of their contract; evening front desk staff can be seen delivering food on I guess their nights to the oil men staying in hotel and I don't think that's all they delivered; had to insist that my phone be replaced it didn't work; came back to the room one night and the air conditioner had been taken apart and they just left with part on the floor and the front desk said sorry I cannot locate they repairman; no apology nothing; after taking it apart we were left with no air conditioning; breakfast is tasteless and it doesn't not change; one plus double rooms have king beds read more

I am an IHG Rewards member and have pros and cons. I had to resubmit this three times now, they kept denying it on the site for some reason?!?! Pros: The building is new, the rooms are spacious, the decor is beautiful and the customer service was outstanding. The counter lady explain to us a near by place to eat and corrected my bill that was rung up wrong during my reservation. Cons: My shower, floor and bathtub had hair all over them from a previous customer which I did not realize until my special needs son had already taken a bath in the area, I was disgusted. After cleaning the area since we were tired from the long road trip I realized their was a dirty towel in the cabinet area near the hair dryer, this begin to make me question if our beds were clean. That moorning we went to eat breakfast and my son was disappointed the pancake machine was broken and my husbnad was mad that all the hot food he wanted to eat was cold and no they had no mircowave. I just ate cold cereal, which i never do so we could get on the road. The man working the breakfast area was really nice. I have stayed in a lot of Holiday Inn hotels but this was a bad ordeal when spending over a $100 to stay in a dirty room. read more

I was here for the softball camp at Louisiana Tech for the weekend! Initially, I thought the hotel was new and it looked good. We get there at in is in a sketchy location. The hotel staff was very friendly which I have no complaints about the staff. When you spend $400.00 for two nights you expect to be getting a good room. We had ants in our hotel room by the tub. They were fire ants and not just one, but bad enough for me to call for me to tell hotel staff. The second night I was laying in bed and a flea jumped on my bed. The concern is I have no pets. Don't get me started on the breakfast. So, you can guarantee I will never be staying here again. read more

This was the nicest holiday in express I have ever stayed in. Not only were the rooms immaculate, the front desk staff was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable. Even with our late check in, we were able to rest easy because of how clean and well-kept our room and the hotel was. There were so many added amenities such as blackout shades, a huge bathroom and a personal kuereg in the room that we will definitely be staying at this location again whenever possible. Glen, the person at the front desk, was such a joy to talk to and was very helpful and friendly. He made our stay even better. read more

I wish I could rate with zero stars.This was the most distasteful experience I've ever had during a hotel stay. I checked in on December 27, 2018 for one night and stated that a registered service dog would accompany me. The clerk at the front desk when I checked in was lovely but things went downhill the next morning. As I approached the breakfast bar, the attendant told to leave with my dog. She wore a 3 Items identifying her as a Service Dog; a vest, a leash and a large bandana. I told him that she was a Service Dog and pointed out her identification. He told me she still had to leave, and I checked out immediately. He and another front desk employee snickered at me as I left. I immediately phoned their corporate office and was assured someone would get back to me in two days. I contacted IHG again tonight, one month later. I was told the employee said that my dog was not wearing her service dog vest, and this was verified by the other front desk attendant who laughed at me as I left. This is completely untrue and I have photos documenting this. Although I always make a point to identify her as a service dog, I am not legally required to. I do this to be responsible and respectful; behaviors that were not extended to me. I did not even receive an apology from either the local hotel or corporate IHG. read more

The staff was excellent in customer service, they were friendly, kind and helpful. I was very comfortable here and the breakfast was outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice receptionist, clean rooms and breakfast was great. Lots of options. The only complaint is you can hear the people above you, but once you fall asleep it doesn't really matter. Otherwise, there were 2 king beds in the room. The lighting is very modern and the TV swiveled. I recommend for short or long stays. Great government rate too. Can there be better signing?
