Good stay: everything clean, nothing broken, no drama, nothing loud or shady going on. Hotel with an elevator and luggage carts, not a motel. Full hot breakfast (sausage, egg, biscuit, gravy, mini waffles). Bathroom didn't have a fan, but it wasn't a big deal. Shower was hot, strong. Guest business center and gym were small. Decent indoor pool (a little cloudy so did not try). Better priced than other similar hotels. Hot breakfast was good enough, saved us time and a little money. read more

Alana, Moe, the manager, and the front desk staff are the embodiment of incompetence and rudeness. Alana and the manager, a pompous white male whose name I can't recall have horrendous attitudes. When my husband tried to get clarity on a mistake they made, the manager arrogantly barked, 'Let me set you straight,' and was incredibly ignorant when speaking to my husband. We booked three nights but ended up fleeing after two. On the second day, our room keys stopped working. The front desk clerk had the audacity to tell us we no longer had a room because it had supposedly been cleaned for the next guest; despite my infant and I being in the room all day and having it reserved for another night. Apparently a different clerk had made two separate reservations for us instead of one. We added a third night and requested to stay in the same room, 1 King Bed, Suite. Moe assured us that it wouldn't be a problem. The following morning Alana, called to tell us we had to switch rooms because our original room had a tub/shower and the new one assigned to us had just a shower, an utterly ridiculous excuse being there were no visible specifications in the room descriptions. Furthermore we should been informed when we requested to remain in our current room. There was no price difference or any indication that the rooms were different despite being titled the same. We canceled the third night and left, thankfully our power was restored at our home shortly after! Ruston, LA's Sleep Inn should rename itself Sleep OUT. Two-star hotel, two-star service, zero professionalism, and zero common sense. Whoever gave this place two stars was being extremely generous; it deserves One at best. If other hotels hadn't been booked, we never would've stayed, and now we know exactly why their rooms were still available. This staff will run this hotel straight into the ground if they haven't already! read more

This is one of the best places we've ever stayed, and we make it a point to stay here every time we travel through this area. Everything is perfect in the rooms and with the facilities. The staff are extraordinarily helpful and friendly, particularly the employees at breakfast (there have been several). Breakfast options (from December 2020): * Hard boiled eggs * Biscuits and sausage gravy * Waffles * Oatmeal, instant (regular and apple cinnamon) * Grits, instant * Apples * Oranges * Bananas * Frosted Flakes * Raisin Bran * Packaged pastries * Yogurt, light (various flavors) * Apple juice * Orange juice * Coffee The pool is the best part. Very Clean and the staff was very friendly. I've stayed here multiple times since 2023 with my daughter attending College near by. The hotel is near lots of good options and gas stations. But on this visit the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I'm a side sleeper and after my 4 night stay my shoulder hurt for almost a week. read more

If you know me, you know I'm reviewing too spare others an unpleasant experience. I drive pilot car, and stay all over the country. I try to stay within my 100 range, it's proving impossible these days. This was not the case here at the sleep inn in Ruston. The price out the door, for me was 121. They wouldn't give military discount at desk, but said online i could. Because i travel with oversize load who knows where we will be at bedtime. This hotel was Slightly dated, but clean and staff are superb. Bed and sheets are so comfortable, bathroom clean and lots of usb ports and 110. A desk and working office chair are the cherry on the sundae. Id stay here again in a minute, and that's saying a lot coming from me. read more

I stayed here for 3 nights and had such a great experience - even before arriving! Before booking online I had some questions, so I called in to ask about swapping from a single king bed to a double bed since my mom needed to stay with us on the last night, but a single king bed is cheaper than a double room and I'm broke. I got Shelby on the phone and she was so helpful and empathetic. She walked me through the booking process online (as it is much cheaper online) and took care of everything for us! She really made our stay special with her polite and charismatic demeanor as well as her attention to detail. This hotel has an INDOOR HEATED POOL & HOTTUB, unlike the other hotels around, so we enjoyed that quite a bit. It was clean, private, and stays open until midnight for adults! The icing on the cake is after we flew back to Seattle and realized that I'd left all my clothes in the drawer of our room! I called in frantic and Shelby came to the rescue yet again. She checked in with room service, called me back within an hour and assured me that she would be happy to take the time to mail the items back to me and send me the receipt. So gracious throughout that process of me screwing up. Any other hotel probably wouldn't give me the time of day, much less head to the post office to mail me my items back! So sweet. In a word: Excellent! I am rather picky about my hotels but I have absolutely no complaints. The facility was clean and well appointed. The room was clean and most adequate with a large flat screen television, microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom had a large walk in shower with a low ledge for the elderly or handicapped. The complimentary morning breakfast area was spotless and the food was hot. The hostess was very friendly and kept her area tidy and clean. The desk clerks, Courtney, Joshua, Shelby and Sean could not have been nicer and was eager to see to my needs. The GM Mike stopped for a chat during breakfast. The pool area was clean and spacious. When evacuating for a hurricane especially with Little ones during a pandemic and not knowing if you'll have a home to come home to you try and find a place that will make you feel comfortable and safe. When I first called looking for 2 rooms Devin the front desk agent offered us a great rate. On August 29 When hurricane Ida hit we didn't know what our next move would be. I spoke with Shelby the assistant manager who not only extended our stay for us but gave us a discounted rate which we couldn't be more grateful for especially now with money being tight for us. The staff were all so friendly and helped us so much during this difficult time. Shairron, Courtney and Julia to name a few. We felt very comfortable here even in the midst of a pandemic. The rooms are clean, fridges and microwaves are provided as well as free parking and guest laundry. Their location is one you can't beat as it is near everything you need. I'd definately recommend checking out Lincoln state park which was absolutely beautiful and one of the many parks in the area. From the bottom of our hearts we truly can't thank this hotel and their staff for making this our home for the past week. We hope to be back again under better circumstances. read more

This hotel is in a low middle category in my opinion - quite basic with poor housekeeping. The sheets were fresh (a step up on the Hampton Inn we stayed at the night before), but the bathroom sink was dirty, & the bathroom floor had not been swept well. The flush handle is cracked, but hasn't fallen off yet. It will & sometime soon. Staff was pleasant & helpful. Coffee at 6:10 am wasn't hot, just warm. Can't figure that out. Won't stay at a Sleep Inn & Suites again if a better hotel is available. read more

We actually received a phone call from the owner and he was absolutely mortified by our experience. He was a pleasure to talk to and assured us if we ever came back our stay would be different. He also explained to us how he had a staff meeting to work out the issues. This is a nice place with friendly staff and clean rooms. It is right near the I-20 / U.S. 167 intersection for easy highway access without being too close to the freeway noise. There are also plenty of restaurants near this hotel. The breakfast buffet is adequate and the Tuesday through Thursday Manager's reception in the breakfast room is nice. read more

Stayed here because of good reviews on another site & it exceeded expectations. Best inexpensive motel I've ever stayed in & much cleaner then many expensive hotels I've visited. The staff was exceptionally polite, the breakfast attendant was attentive to her duties, and someone was picking up trash in parking lot. The management clearly takes pride in their business, and it was so nice to stay somewhere clean after a long day on the road. read more

I think it's the best option on town (til the Best Western is built), but it leaves much to be desired for the price. The gentleman at check in, Travis, was very kind and professional, and Dee at breakfast is a sweetheart. But... The mattresses are like sleeping on Jell-O. The bathroom walls have boogers and blood and pee and gawd knows what else on them. The room carpet is dingy - keep footwear on. A watering can has more pressure than the shower. The pool area is not maintained - food, candy, Band-Aids, Coke lids, rubber bands, you name it strewn about the deck; a hygienic swimsuit liner and pubic hair floating in the pool; pool tiles have a thick scum line. Zero clean pool towels at 8am. I took the stairs so I didn't have to traipse through the lobby in my swimsuit, but had to go to the desk for towels. Desk agent, Adam, said "you've been to the pool and there are no towels?" Ummmm... Don't you think that's why I'm asking for some??? He went in back and brought me a half dozen or so towels. Wait! You want ME to stock your towels? Nope. 2-1/2 hours later, I checked the pool - still debris everywhere, no clean towels. Also, the pool restrooms need more frequent attention. Even if the guests trashed these areas at night, they should be addressed before morning. Breakfast was nice, typical, yet nice. read more
