Went to Dovetail on a Friday at 7:15pm expecting a mad house but was pleasantly surprised that it was only mildly busy. We sat at the bar where we had the most friendliest bartender (a blonde, I think her name was Leigh Ann). She was so nice!! She let me sample all the red wines to figure out which one I wanted, which was totally unnecessary but I REALLY appreciated it. We ordered a pepperoni & mushroom pizza and loved it. We especially love the chimichurri sauce they give you. Great little spot for date night, and plenty of parking. The barely negative thing I noticed was at one point it got very hot inside the restaurant, but it got better eventually. We will definitely be back.

4.3 stars. I really loved the pizza - pepperoni and they use a sourdough crust which really works well. What's more impressive to me is they get the sauce and cheese mixture right. Not only was the pizza fantastic, the leftovers were amazing. Tried the spaghetti and meatball and was really underwhelmed by the meatball. maybe that's the jersey in me. I've heard they have good salads so maybe next time I will try the salad. But i can't wait to go back and get more pizza. Great vibe and decor here too. I would highly recommend and might take some family here that are coming to visit soon, but not 100%. But the pizza will be something I mention in those "best pizza places in Austin" convos.

In a few words this place has the BEST pizza in Austin. Bufawho? Little Delwhat? Sorry I can't remember because those places that also sell pizza are so easy to forget when you've tried what I argue is the TOP TIER most DELICIOUS crust out of anywhere in town. Criteria for outstanding crust is that it holds up and doesn't just flop over when you pick it up without having to fold it. It isn't overly dense like a bagel or greasy. The pizza has a light and crisp airiness about it with the perfect chew but not so filling that you can only have a slice or two and isn't so thin that it crumbles like a cracker when you bite it either. Every time I come here I'm angry that I don't come more often after I take the first bite of pizza. I always wonder why I waste my time anywhere else for any other pizza and then I proceed to forget any dietary goals I have and devour half of an entire pizza on my own. In this case I will say I personally stick to good ol' pepperoni pizza because it's just done so well. This is coming from a person who purposely avoids red pies cause of heartburn and usually gets white based sauce on pizzas that are usually consisting of veggies. But when I'm here pepperoni pizza drizzled with their HOT honey is for lack of better words stupid good. It's (how doesn't this get into a debate more often) incredibly good crust. The service is always pleasant and easy going the staff is fun and friendly and the drinks are actually also really good. They have pasta that my kids also seem to really enjoy when they aren't wanting pizza ( insane right). The inside is on the smaller side with outside seating available but it surprisingly doesn't feel crowded or too loud when packed. Like many restaurants in the area that do have their own parking it is very tight and limited but not impossible to find something especially if you have a larger SUV. We had to park on W Mary St across the street but probably better off for an easy exit.

Came in during lunch time and got to try the personal pizza off their lunch menu! My friend and I paired it with a side salad and then split a dessert. Our totals came out to less than $30 each after everything! Service was nice and the place looked small but there was plenty of seating.

Good vibes, very chill, attentive service, and pizza isn't overpriced. PARKING IS FREE, just go inside and the valet kiosk is inside. And for Austin to have parking? so nice. It was a group of 7 with kids, and the pizzas came out quick. Flavors aren't aren't as typical as you'd expect based on the titles.

This is our go-to pizza spot when visiting Austin! The waiters and waitresses are so kind and friendly with great salads, good tasting (slightly greasy) pizza along with an incredible GIANT meatball pasta! The mozzarella pizza is our favorite and such great nostalgic ambiance!

Where to begin?! THE PIZZA!! FLAVORFUL EVERY BITE! Me and my wife LOVED this place, the pizza, the smell, the crispiness! Service was great! Good ambiance for date night or family time!

Dovetail Pizza has quickly become one of our go to date night spots. The pizza is on point, perfectly charred crust, a balanced sauce, and toppings that actually taste fresh instead of thrown on as an afterthought. The fresh mozz pizza is a standout on its own, but do yourself a favor and add the sausage, it takes the whole thing up a notch. However, the real star of the show is the burrata. Creamy, decadent, and makes you wonder why every restaurant doesn't treat their burrata with this much respect. The vibe is relaxed but polished. Austin's got no shortage of pizza joints, but Dovetail is setting the bar.

Dovetail is consistently good in both service and food. I love the convenient location and we are always greeted and welcomed. This time we had a large Caesar salad, which is plenty to share for the table and calamari and a pepperoni pizza. We love their chimichurri and their chili oil, which they are happy to pack up for you if you are taking leftovers.

I was really excited about this place! We shared the prime rib pizza which was phenomenal. However I might have enjoyed short rib on there with the glazed onions a bit more. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts which had an artichoke aioli and this was my favorite. All the flavors are so rich and compliment the Brussels sprouts. I've had a lot of different pizza places in austin, I would like to come back and try the pepperoni pizza.

Delicious! My vieja and I walked in and were promptly greeted and seated (I'm a poet and don't know it). We opted for the Bittersweet (I always think of big head Todd as opposed to bittersweet symphony) and fried aceitunas. All of the food was deliciously cooked, the atmosphere was quiet but lively, and I got to ogle the hottie sitting across from me. What's not to love?

Food was ok. I expected it to be better. The photos posted from how it tasted were not good! Service was great from the host to the server. Caesar salad was ok. Not enough green romaine it had a lot of the yellow romaine it wasn't fresh enough specially when it's $16. It was enough to share with someone. I wanted pasta but the pizza looked great so we ordered the fresh mozz. It was ok. I felt like it was all thin pizza barely any sauce or mozzarella. Not much flavor. I was expecting it to be cheesy. I don't recommend their pizza. I won't be back sorry!

Great food & staff! Came here solo and I was blown away with the service! I didn't want a whole pizza and my server recommended a trip to Royal Blue Grocery during my stay to try the pizza by the slice, which didn't disappoint. The meatball spaghetti was also delicious! Can't wait to be back to try the pizza in house!

Once we walked through Manny's, we were greeted right away and since we had a reservation, we were seated promptly. Quick heads up: cell phones aren't allowed inside -- they take your phone and give you a key to a locker where it's stored for the night. The idea is to keep everyone present and engaged with each other instead of their screens (they do make exceptions for emergencies or on-call situations, at the business's discretion). I actually love the reasoning behind it, even though I wished I had my phone to snap pictures of the inside! The space itself is dark and moody with major art deco Miami vibes, like something out of the 80s-90s. Think pink velvet draped everywhere, a life-size taxidermy leopard in the middle of the bar, and flamingo sculptures scattered throughout. It's gorgeous. There's plenty of seating between the booths/couches and the bar, and they seat you according to your party size. We got a plush half-circle booth with a table that fit all of us perfectly -- great sightlines too, so everyone could see and talk to each other easily. Each table gets an assigned server, and ours was fantastic. We ordered cocktails along with the yuca fries, empanadas, and quesadillas -- all delicious. I do not know what her issue was, but if you are tired and don't like staying up late, don't work in a bar. After saying that there was only standing room, I decided that I was not going to spend money in an establishment that speaks to people in such a disgusting way, so I proceeded to leave. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there.
