As entertaining as a game may be, the prices of drinks especially mixed are outrageous priced especially seeing as they are excessively water downed. I will never buy a mixed drink from them again. Period. But my biggest complaint is this. All these sweet kids running around with balls and cards to be signed are completly and entirely ignored by players. I understand not spending 30 mins signing autographs, I really do. But at the very bare minimum, speak. " hey guys thanks for coming, sorry I can't sign anything right now." That's it. Takes two seconds. Instead these adults who you pay to see completely ignore the kids. It's sad. You're getting paid to be watched. The least you can do is speak, or wave. These kids look up to you, and after tonight I can't see why. read more

I came here with a group of native tri-city people whom are all now living out of state. We all had the same reaction walking up to the ball park - why wasn't this around when we were younger / going to school? We were jealous/nostalgic, yet happy at the same time. This is a great stadium. It's not as massive as an MLB stadium, but it's got the same big-time feel. It is an upscale place to watch a (long) baseball game at a bargain price. There are numerous fireplaces located around the main deck, as well as food stands everywhere you turn. Staff was aplenty and very friendly. Unfortunately, the night we went was misty / rainy, but each time we went down to our seats, there was a staff member ready, towels in hand, to wipe down our seats. We were planning a trip to Western Michigan, and saw that the Dow Diamond got extremely high ratings from Stadium Journey, so we figured we'd try it ourselves. We ended up going to a game on a kids' day, so we knew in advance that the stadium would be packed with school kids. Parking here was one of the easiest places I've been to. We parked right outside the stadium for like $5 and were inside after a minute walk. Super easy and everyone was friendly working the lot. We entered via the outfield entrances, so we had to walk all the way around the stadium to get to our seats down the third base line. They had some nice fireplaces in right center and adirondack chairs located all over the concourse looking onto the field. There really isn't a bad seat in the house as the stadium isn't big enough or poorly designed enough to offer bad sightlines. Food was a little disappointing. While there were a crazy amount of options, the pork was just okay and the nachos were the same. I'd have to come back and try some of the other stuff since there's just so much variety. If you're even remotely a baseball fan and you're in the area, Dow Diamond is worth a trip. read more

I give the diamond a 3 only because who doesn't love baseball, am I right!? It was a beautiful night for baseball but the concessions were horrible tonight. We stood in line at a Great Lakes Grill from the 1st inning until the middle of the 3rd inning, so needless to say it was pretty slow service. We had a coupon for a free hot dog and was told they didn't have any of those left (at the second inning they run out of hot dogs!?) but they would downgrade me to a smaller hot dog and give me $1. I asked if they would just upgrade me to another hot dog, no go he just laughed. Then we ordered 2 large beers and was told the co2 was out but we could go to another stand if we wanted. I told her I would rather not stand in line for another 3 innings and told her to go to another stand to get our beer (which she did reluctantly). I felt a little sorry for the order take as he seemed kind of embarrassed about the whole ordeal but really had nothing he could do for us. I paid for our items and we were finally able to get to the reason for being here... having a dog and beer at a baseball game! Maybe it's just me but having a dog and beer is a staple for a ball game but this was very disappointing. Dow Diamond I hope you get your "loons" in a row for further games. read more

Came here on Tuesday, August 4th. I had a great time, tickets were only $10.50, $4 for parking, spent another $11 on lobster mac and cheese and a drink, which was excellent. I paid just about the same amount to watch a Major League Soccer game in Dallas, but this was just far more entertaining in every way, despite being single-A baseball, I believe? I took my dad for a game and we were pleasantly surprised. It is a great place to see a game. The park and facilities are clean and new. The food is affordable for being a ballpark. They have a great variety of foods to purchase. We came when they had $1 hotdog and ice cream night, but even the other food items were affordable and delicious. The tickets were $9.50 each and they were seats right behind home plate. They have even cheaper tickets for the outfield lawn. The biggest sign that this is a great place to see a game is that the place is full of friendly locals (regulars) who are wearing Loons gear. For $9.50 a ticket, this place is a bargain and the staff works very hard to ensure that you have a fun night at the ballpark. read more

Amazing brand new stadium. Seats are only 9 bucks and that's for behind home plate. Lawn seats are 6 and include the entire outfield. Only downside is food prices are still high, unless it's a Tuesday then it's $1 for dogs, cokes, and ice cream sandwiches. Great place to hang out for some summer fun or a date. Awesome park that targets all baseball fans, not just little kids. While there is plenty of entertainment available for kids, the concourse is surrounded with video boards that display league leaders, stats, and starting lineups so that baseball fans can be well- informed. Clean stadium with tons of GA lawn seats and the ability to walk around the entire field. Cheaper concessions than Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing. The only negative is that Midland is a ghost town. No real eat or drink options near the stadium with more than half of the businesses around the stadium being closed on a Saturday at 5 pm, which is ridiculous. You are better off planning to eat or grab beers inside the stadium rather than outside the stadium. read more

There is no place like Dow Diamond. Many of the workers are very nice. At the All Star Game the ushers were very strict and nobody likes that. But Dow Diamond is also one favorite of my places. The food is average and a bit overpriced but it works. The Loon Loft is the stadiums store and I did not appreciate how they were staring at me like I was going to steal something. Dow Diamond is a great to a game in general so if you go have fun. read more

As far as minor league ballparks go this is nice one. They do a good job at keeping the atmosphere fun in between innings and have quite a few different options of food and drinks to choose from. I would definitely recommend anyone to take a trip there to take in a ballgame or two. read more

Northern Lights Pavilion for 4th of July - worst promotion ever. Web tickets claims all food and soft drinks included with your $22 ticket. Upon entry found out only two "meats" per ticket holder. You're better off buying box tickets and hot dogs at the concession stand. They also ran out of hotdogs before the third inning. Plus the view is better from seats than the pavilion way out on the end of the third base line. Would give negative stars, but can't. read more

As a former employee, I didn't have much time to attend games, but when I did they were always a blast. The Loons pride themselves on customer service, it's valued just about above anything else. Recently the company I work at took its employees and family members to enjoy a ball game at Dow Diamond. Our company reserved the Pavillion area at the park. This area features tiered seating areas, bar and food service that's situated under a sheltered seating area. The views are quite nice and foul balls are a plenty when seated here. The food menu featured: bratwurst, hot dogs, pulled bbq chicken and hamburgers. With your choice of corn, coleslaw, baked beans and potato salad. You are offered your choice of two meats. So, you can eat all at once or come back for seconds. I choose the brats, baked beans, coleslaw and potato salad. The food was cold, however, it was very windy that evening. My brats were-well... disgusting. Obviously, they were cooked hours before hand and they were tough and chewy. They had the flavor, texture and look of a Slim Jim (no exaggeration). The coleslaw was not to my liking it was not creamy, more like cut up cabbage with a hint of a mayonnaise. Very bland. I did enjoy the baked beans and potato salad. The Baked Beans had some type of green peppers mixed in, I kept wondering how they tasted hot. I surveyed eight or nine different people about their food experience the most common reply was "it wasn't very good." The drinks were fountain, Coke products, all you can drink. The bar offered George Killian Red and Coors Lite as well as frozen Margaritas and Daquaris. The beers come in souvenir cups and cost $6. If I took my employees out to show my appreciation for a job well done I would have been disappointed with the Pavilion's food. The stadium is nice, great landscaping, clean, good parking, and easy in and easy out. I would like to review the food but I can't because the wait at the Great Lakes Grill line was over an hour, according to a gentleman at the front of the line I asked. He had not been served yet. They simply don't have the infrastructure food-wise to accommodate the size of the stadium. There are kiosks with much shorter lines, but to get a real ballpark meal is unrealistic unless you are prepared to miss 2 or 3 innings. Even the kiosks where not staffed properly with most having a single worker to take payment and prepare the food. The exception was the nacho kiosk. They had 3 workers and seemed to move quickly. I tried the salad and wrap kiosk, but the single worker took 10 minutes to complete a single order and being 4th in line, I did the math. Good baseball, but I suggest eating immediately before you go. On the upside, you'll save money read more
