I first visited Down To Earth because of Stephanie M's review. She says, "This is a very dangerous store." Let me just say, that is a very factual statement. I happily spend A LOT of money at this perfectly-curated home and garden store in Eugene. I love gardening, and given that my husband and I recently purchased a 100-year-old cottage in NE Portland, I need a lot of inspiration. There are plenty of great places to find home and garden goods in Portland, but Down to Earth seems to have their finger on the pulse of everything hot and new. I find all of my favorite things here like Fiesta pottery and cast iron cookware, but I'm incredibly grateful for being introduced to so many new products as well. I discovered Dani bath and candle products here. I was introduced to Salty Lama detergent strips ((I'm a HUGE fan)) and Renee's Garden Seeds here as well. The garden shop is a lovely space, full of the most beautiful flowers, herbs and vegetables. You'll also find beautiful hand-crafted pots and garden decor, as well as an impressive supply of bee-keeping supplies. Don't forget to look into their classes and workshops on a variety of topics, and to sign up for their informative newsletter. Make the most of this amazing resource, folks! Stores like Down to Earth are worth supporting.

My experience started walking into a warm greeting followed by excellent service. I was looking for a plant and a nice heavy ceramic pot. The staff helped me and when I say staff I'm being literal. Three different people helped me but most importantly they were helping each other. I was the recipient and it was awesome! All repotted and away I went. Highly recommend this local business. Thank you to all the wonderful staff today.

No trip to Eugene is complete without a visit to Down to Earth. Between the kind staff, rustic building, and vast selection of plants and home improvement items, you really can't go wrong. This trip, I took home an aloe plant, some lavender soap, chocolates, a hanging basket (on sale for $10!) & some bee keeping equipment. Everyone here is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I used to work at the bank across the street & would spend my lunch breaks here window shopping. Even when I wasn't spending money, I was always treated kindly. Their prices are hard to beat too! I truly can't say I've ever had a bad experience. Down to Earth is a local gem.

I went to Down To Earth today for the first time since moving here a year ago. The store is FULL of beautiful things....kitchenware, soap, candles, plants, garden items, wind chimes, on and on, etc etc. I found the most perfect stone buddha for my garden water fountain.... I had envisioned it and here it was! So thrilled with my purchase. And the staff clearly love their work.

Home decor, furniture, clothes, candles, signs, garden decor, Myra bags, accessories, holiday goodies, and SO much more!! I've been coming here for years and years. They offer fun giveaways all the time! (Watch their Facebook lives, or instagram lives weekly to see how.) They do a no-peeking envelope event as well where you pick up a secret envelope one week, then bring it back on the dates given to see what % off or $$ off / gift card / gift you won! It's so fun. They always have great events and the shoppe is FILLED to the brim with amazing products!! You won't leave empty handed. It is crammed packed with goodies and organized into sections of style, decor, theme which rotates frequently. I love real deals! Its a fun place to escape a busy week and find some goodies. Open Thursday-Saturday only makes it a true hidden gem! Not to mention the ladies working in there are always so upbeat & kind!! I love how helpful and patient they are no matter how busy it is.

I have bought…read moreeverything from tank tops to Christmas ornaments here ... and they're all still in great shape! Today was the day I brought my teen along with me and, in her own words, "Can I just live in here?" So even teenagers will give Real Deals 5 stars. Be sure to follow them on social media because they do giveaways and contests often. My only side notes would be: 1. Real Deals is PACKED with things and (pre COVID) people as well. I found it a little tricky navigating my son's wheelchair through the aisles and crowds. It was definitely not impossible it just took patience. If you or a loved one are in a large, motorized wheelchair it might prove to be a little tricky, but again, not impossible. Real Deals does offer curbside pickup so shopping from home might be more beneficial. Again, follow along on FB where they go live often. 2. Their hours are pretty limited. I believe just Thursday through Saturday. Additional hours are added around the holidays. So check before you shop!

(I checked with BY themselves.) Then Paul Schatz negotiated a price with us: I made the salesman an offer, she went and checked with the manager, came back and said ok, I repeated the offer to ensure there was no misunderstanding, she agreed, and we shook hands. But then Schatz refused to honor that price. Said that the whole conversation and handshake had never happened. A LIE! Then they said over the phone that it didn't matter because they had decided not to do business with us. BY is located in North Carolina. Found a furniture store near them and that store is selling us the same pieces and shipping them to us for more than 20% less than Paul Schatz was willing to do it. Don't ever, EVER give these guys your business. Unethical stores don't deserve to be in business.
