Beautiful location--upstairs so there is a great wrap around porch on that level where you can sit with your drink and watch everything going on in Old Town. The bartender was up-beat and friendly. It was daytime so we ordered inside then picked a table on the porch/deck. Self-service water was helpful :) We tried a flight of 4 so we could decide what we wanted for a full pour. I absolutely loved the watermelon cider--light, refreshing, not too sweet and not to heavy on the watermelon. Perfect! My husband enjoyed the IPA's...but I do want to note that there were other choices besides IPAs. Upon arrival we were hoping to get some light food to share. Then we saw the snack choices were limited and almost passed completely. BUT we decided to try the NM Sunset Popcorn...so glad we did! It was delicious and the perfect accompaniment. This has been in old town for awhile but I had never bee. They make their own syrup which is a bonus. Service was great even though I only saw one person. The wood floors and the variety of seating made this a great place for groups or to sit alone or a couple friends. Nice views too. read more

First off, be aware this place no longer serves beer from Downshift brewing in Ruidoso. It's just a collection of standard ABQ tap handles from places like Bosque, La Cumbre, etc. It's a neat space with a lot of live plants and fun decor. It has AC and not swamp cooling so it's nice and cool on a hot day. Our issue with this place was the price - $8 and up for a 16oz pint, plus a credit card surcharge when you pay. Completely out of touch pricing, you can get these pints nearly anywhere else for a good amount less. Unfortunately we won't be back. read more

Love the modern sleek decor! We walked in and the place, ambiance and the staff was so inviting. We ordered our cocktail at the bar and took in the view of the beautiful church. PROS- *Beautiful space with lots of seating. *People of all ages were hanging out getting drinks *So many local products! I appreciated seeing Leaf&Hive, Tellers, Nickel, etc. *Not just beer so anyone could find something to drink CONS- *Service . Sat at the bar and it took 20 minutes to get a drink order in then we were never checked on again. Once we saw our bartender leave without saying anything (about an hour after we were served our drinks) we had to stand in line to close our tab. * House beer was just ok. Got a flight and nothing was memorable. *Pricey. The location is great (and probably costly) but a flight of 4 2oz pours and one non-downshift beer on tap was $18. Overall, this place is ok. We walked in and the place was packed. We had a blast! The beers were delicious, the live music was fantastic, and the service was very friendly. They use La Reforma agave and it's probably one of the best Palomas I've had, which is a lot. They garnish with a beautiful dried grapefruit slice which just added that extra little bit to an already delicious drink. I've heard good things about this brewery and had been meaning to try it, will definitely try their beer next time. Fiancée liked her beer. Decor is amazing, very impressed by the mural and overall vibe of this little place in Old Town. Great addition, you can play games provided there as well as order food like Grubhub to there. It gets 2 stars only because of its location. It has great views of Old Town Albuquerque When we first arrived we were told that closing time was 9:00 pm. Great!!! We asked family to meet us here. First beer we asked for was not available. When we asked for a Marble brewery beer (not a DownShift beer) it was met with a shrug and a frown from (who we think is) the manager. Music was extremely loud and had to ask for it to be turned down so that we could you of have a conversation at our table. At 7:15, the gentleman, who we believe was the manager, started stacking (slamming) chairs on the tables. About 10 minutes later he told us it was "last call". This has to be one of the rudest experience we have ever encountered. We were so excited to try out this new place (for us) in Albuquerque; unfortunately, it left us extremely disappointed. read more

Downshift is the very definition of mediocre. $8 beers (pints!) that may pass muster in Ruidoso but are well below average in Albuquerque compared to other breweries. Unmemorable and bland beers. As far as other menu options go, our friend made the mistake of ordering a bramble-ish cocktail that tasted like Kool-Aid. The space itself is sterile and decorated like someone's finished basement. Poor, disinterested service. Giving them one star for having the good sense to sell Cornivore popcorn and for the nice balcony seating. I really, really didn't enjoy it here. If you're in the area just make the 5 minute drive to a stellar brewery like Gravity Bound. Way easier to find parking too. read more

I was shopping the Old Town on a Sunday after noon and in hunt for a refreshing Margarita I stumbled upon this beautiful gem, the decor is clean and calming , the staff is friendly and welcoming. They have an awesome beer selection and was able to taste a spicy margarita that went down a little too smooth because I know I could drink 10 of these delicious concoctions before trying to roll down the stairs.
