There is a parking lot in front, as well as street parking. Once inside, pick up was easy and fast; the owner was responsive and friendly--so were the other patrons in the deli/store. (They all smiled as we entered and were so helpful so we could find the right places to check out. This must be the nicest neighborhood!) The attached store had a large selection of snack chips and drinks--I didn't go down the aisle but it seemed to have a variety of items for quick pick-up. Sandwiches were fresh--soft tasty Dutch crunch rolls, packed with meat, cheese and veggies, and the added avocado was fresh slices. We drove up to Lake Chabot, and none of our sandwiches were soggy, as can happen when you don't eat them right away. I will be happy to come again for these delicious sandwiches!

I was in the area getting my cellphone serviced, and decided to drop by and try their sandwiches. This place is very small, with no inside seating or tables. Just enough room for maybe 5-6 people. There's a small patio outside with 2-3 tables. So this place is mainly a takeout shop. As you enter, there's a coffee/drink menu on the left wall, and a sandwich menu on the rightside wall. I ordered a Roast Beef sandwich (as-is) for $10.50. Service was okay. It was near closing time, and it seemed like they weren't expecting more customers. The roast beef sandwich was fair. It was heavy on mustard, and needed a little more mayo. This place is perfect for working people who want a quick coffee and/or sandwich.

With most lots like this you can't be compelled to pay the tickets - only when the city issues tickets are they enforceable. The plaza is privately owned, and everything is leased out. So does San Leandro own it? Does the plaza owner think these meters are good for our city? I think the plaza owner will be happy to know that I am on the case and I've never lost a war in my life. I lose fights often, strategically, but never the grand scheme battles. Issues that affect my fellow citizens (like this) are a marathon, and I sprint through them. I promise these meters will be removed. If they refuse, I will demand an appropriate sacrifice from the plaza ownership. If the city somehow owns this plaza and installed these meters - Is San Leandro in need of our quarters that badly, and if so, why don't these even accept quarters? Only allowing electronic pay is certainly a decision. They probably expect us all to be robots in a few years and want to get their infrastructure ready to squeeze the oil out of us when that day comes. I used to get tickets in parking lots in Walnut Creek and would just tear them up. It never came back to haunt me. If I kept parking in those same lots I suppose they could eventually tow the car but I wouldn't give them the opportunity. I still like lowkey small businesses like this one, no frills or decorations, just show up for food. As far as sandwiches go I don't think this is my preference but they come across as very nice and consistent. Other people like this place, it seems. I don't like cold stack sandwiches unless some attention goes into the accents so I'm not the target audience here. The lady at the front was very friendly but this isn't really a sit down service place, they just give you the food.

The Cafe was packed and many family were making large orders. When we got closer to the front they made an announcement that they were only giving cookies to first FIFTY finishers and those cookies were already gone! SHAME ON YOU FOR THAT! Since the library knows well in advance how may finishers there were, they could have planned for that number or at least BE TRANSPARENT AND SAY THE FIRST 50 CHILDREN TO STOP IN COULD HAVE A FREE COOKIE!

Asked for sauce on the side which I'm glad I did because it didn't add anything special for me. Would prefer the hollandaise sauce instead actually. Nice casual but slightly upscale place. Overall happy to see them here and food was decent. Good addition to the neighborhood, hope they stick around a long time!
