Small farmers market but has a pretty good selection of stuff. We mainly went for the fresh produce and got some really yummy fruits.

As another review noticed, I did not see a ton of produce. Mostly fruit and not vegetables, a couple of vendors with meat or seafood. But I was honestly looking more for the food!! Dog friendly, many dogs in the market and also on the grass lawn along side the market. I love that this market is not crammed in on both sides with stalls, so there is plenty of room to maneuver with your dog and armfuls of food. I parked kinda far but I needed the walk to prepare for eating lol. Meters are free on Sunday in Chula Vista so it was easy to find something :) What I tried today - Local Lemon: Really nice lemonade, limeade or Arnold Palmer base with homemade fruit purees/chunks added. This was all the way at the end from where I came in and it was so worth the walk. The owner provides filtered water for dogs (he made a point to tell me it was filtered lol) and asks if you want the lemonade sweet or not, and offers to adjust if needed. No adjustment necessary on mine, I got a limeade with mango and it was perfect. I want to try other flavors! Absolutely fabulous. Tita Ann's 619: All the classic Hawaiian snack favorites - I saw other reviews mention butter mochi, she had ube butter mochi out and I had to try it. Best butter mochi I've ever had omg. So beyond delicious. She had other great looking items that I will try next time, furikake chex mix, banana + macadamia bread. Sweet lady! Omukoro: Japanese owned & operated! Really nice family operation, the eel onigiri made me feel like mom & dad made it for me :) Huge and delicious... hope I will see them again to try the other flavors! ありがとうございます!! Tamale Fiesta: I didn't try these yet because I'm too full but I got chicken, veggie and sweet corn. I just walked on the treadmill for an hour and I'll need to do another hour so I can slam these in lol. They looked and smelled delicious and other reviews mention them so I have no doubt they will be good. So many stalls smelled or looked great here, but I'm just one person!! The Cajun garlic noodle stand smelled incredible, I walked by it twice and regretted not stopping both times... there was an esquites stand... 2 honey stands... a healthy sourdough stand with almond flour sourdough (?!) Tbh I think I like this farmers market better than Hillcrest because there is a lot more room to move and the vibe is very very chill. I will be back again to try what I didn't try this time!!! Thanks for a wonderful experience!!

I love this little farmers' market!…read more Situated right on a little center divide adjacent to a large park. They have a great variety of foods- fresh produce, pastries, breads, dips, salsas, honeys, and sauces, as well as beverages. Wonderful eclectic selection of food trucks, some jewelry, and even a house plant tent with some gorgeous specimens. Da-Le-Ranch also has a stand with pastured eggs and meats. It's a wee bit cramped, and parking can be tricky, but I just show up right when they open to avoid the crowd.

But that's pretty common these days, not just for Farmer's Market, but parking in general. Lots of food options and I don't just mean vegetables. You could pretty much have breakfast and lunch here. And enough so you can skip dinner. I almost wonder if there are more food options than other vendors. I didn't count. Don't get me wrong - still a lot of Knick knacks and other items to browse/buy other than food - maybe even something like I grabbed - a western cowboy hat. Finally got me one. Sorry - no pics. Anyway, it's busy, colorful, and fun, and it has that San Diego weekend energy. Definitely check it out if you like fresh food, people watching and spending more money than you meant to.

**August 2026: Sunday Morning Late Morning Visit**…read more I love visiting farmers markets, and this visit was a success. I was able to pick up some fresh baby blue eucalyptus plants for my shower, as well as lavender oils to really help with my aromatherapy relaxation routine at home. The Hillcrest Farmers Market happens every Sunday from 9am to 2pm and there are usually well over 150+ vendors set up along University Avenue and Normal Street. Parking is a bit tricky, but we were very lucky to find a spot in a nearby neighborhood. Once we got in, we found a great assortment of meats, sauces, dips, and more. In a somewhat hidden part of the trail, there's a bunch of exotic food options to consider, including flavors from Africa, as well as some tables where you can sit and enjoy the food. There are also flowers, veggies, eggs, honey, and pretty much anything you'd be interested in. I think we shopped for about 45 minutes as casual browsers, and it felt like a good amount of time to get a feel for the place. It's a great spot to support small businesses.

What I love most about this place is the variety. There are rows and rows of vendors selling just about everything you can imagine. From fruit trees and fresh produce to yard sale treasures, mattresses, furniture, and even brand-new items it's like a giant treasure hunt. If you enjoy browsing and negotiating, many vendors are open to bargaining on prices. There are also plenty of food and drink stands if you need a snack while walking around. I'd highly recommend checking it out if you enjoy swap meets or bargain hunting.

This year most of the vendors stayed away. We decided to get crepes from a place called La Creperie because it was one of the only choices. The man was extremely nice. But I was surprised to see that he was using a blow torch on the crepes instead of sautéing things first. My savory crêpe with eggs cheese and mushrooms was essentially like a quesadilla and the mushrooms weren't really cooked. Did it eat very much of it because it was not that savory. The dessert crepe we got was a little better. But I would not come to this booth again. Looking forward to coming another time when there are more of the vendors I like here!

We loved the live music as well. Very enjoyable. Saw kids and dogs enjoying themselves, which is always such a great vibe! Our favorite place was "El Reaper Hot Chicken"! My pre-teen had the hot Cheetos fried chicken over fries. She absolutely loved it. Her Dad is a professional Chef, so she knows good food. I had the ghost pepper chicken, and be warned that it is HOT!!! Their chicken itself is so well seasoned and juicy. Almost all places don't season their fried chicken enough. It was nice to have something incredibly tasty for a change! The word needs to get out there, because this place could be such a hot spot to hang out at on weekends! Highly recommend checking it out!!!
