Downtown Detail is really just a guy named Vinny. And this is a great thing, Vinny is amazing at what he does. I'm not much of a car washer, maybe 1-2 times a year when the car gets really grimy. But the 10-year old sedan was starting to look rough and I figured it could use a good detail. I cannot get over how good the car looks now. Pictures won't do it justice. Vinny took a clay bar to the entire car and the paint looks and feels amazing. Headlights are buffed and inside is spotless, pretty sure he conditioned the leather as well because its somehow softer. We called, and no one answered, so I hung up. I got a call directly back within 30 seconds and Vinny asked me where I lived so he could swing by and take a look at the car. He was at our door in literally 3 minutes. He quoted 60 dollars for the entire interior detailing and to wipe down and polish the exterior. He started work right away and was done within an hour. He charged 65 in the end, which was fine because he ended up totally washing the entire exterior and tires, etc instead of just wiping them down. Vinny was personable, extremely prompt, and went above and beyond our expectations. Downtown Detail are THE BOMB. The team came out to my home in Willow Lake in September 2020 (in the middle of the pandemic and all that jazz), all PPE geared-up and ready to work. But a week or two later, I had to fold up the back seats to flatten the trunk (SUV) and discovered that the area underneath hadn't been touched at all - all the crumbs and junk that were down there before the detailing - and there was a lot - were still there! Vinny and his guys did an amazing job. I had dropped off two of my vehicles to get detailed; a truck and a sedan. It's been a good two years since my cars were cleaned, and probably 4-6yrs since they were detailed (when I had bought the cars). I have a dog too, so her hair and nose marks on the windows were all over. When I picked up my cars (I dropped them off to him), they were clean and shiney -it was like reflecting like a mirror. I did a walk thru, and I thought it was perfect, but Vinny still wanted to do the windows one last time (inside and out). Then he noticed one of my truck rims weren't to his liking, so he re-cleaned that one before I left. And he's so hospitable. Definitely taking my vehicles to him again! Especially for the price!!! I believe in Dijuan! Dijuan has a talent for cleaning cars and he has a breadth of knowledge about the functions of various car cleaning supplies, and gave me tips about them. He is well-equipped to do your job, and willing to fix spots if you see them. My favorite part was the cleanliness of the carpets. He went under the mat and removed all of these pine needles woven in to carpet that I tracked back from the Pacific Northwest! No way was I going to do that myself. Insider Tip: If you give him a tip, he does an extra sealant! Word to the Wise: I would only come back again if he set an appointment from the very first phone call (beware if there's rain in the forecast, unless you have a garage). ***If you're not successful with your first call and you have a busy schedule or are bothered by inefficiency, don't waste your energy trying to pin him down.*** But I believe in Dijuan. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS.....I'm not even convinced this is a real business. I tried for MONTHS to schedule a detail. I either got an answering machine and left a message, or texted (like the voicemail had recommended) and got NO RESPONSE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. One time he texted that he's very busy and to be patient, so a month or so later after not getting a return call again, I tried again to contact him, and again...nothing. Another time he responded to ask if I could come down later that day, I asked when, NO ANSWER! I had bought a Living Social deal and have since been refunded. When I spoke with Living Social, they informed me that they had gotten quite a few complaints about not receiving a response from Downtown Detail and "Dijuan". This "business" is a sham and/or really bad at managing their clients. I certainly would not recomend it. read more

Had a horrible experience with Downtown Detail!! Had made arrangements far in advance for a Heavy Use Cleaning ($140). Despite emails with the date and time specified, texts and phone calls, the guys showed up on the wrong day to pick up the car. When we finally got back on track and confirmed the original and proper date and time for the cleaning, they were a no-show. When I called, they didn't recall the plan. After refreshing their memories yet again, they said they'd pick the car up (at 2pm, when the agreed-upon time pick-up time had been 9AM, with a return time by 3pm), but would need till 5 to clean. Told them I needed the detailed car back as agreed to show it to a buyer. Vinny assured me he could get the car back to me, fully detailed, by 3, because he had a full crew to work on it. He did return it by the time promised, but it was NOT a satisfactory job. Work specified in the description did not appear to be done. Also said he'd restore the headlights at no charge if I brought the car back on Saturday morning. I did so, but he was not at the location specified. When I called him, he said he had gone home because it was a slow day. He then said he'd call back to arrange a time. Never heard from him. REALLY poor communication and workmanship. Don't waste your time or money with this group. As follow-up to your response, Dijuan, the pick-up/detailing date was always set for Thursday, July 14, and never changed on my part. It was referred to and reiterated in every written correspondence, and again on the phone--and finally, through text, when you tried to pick up the car on the wrong date. You had requested that I text the address for pick-up. When I sent that, you somehow completely forgot about the booked date and thought the pick-up was immediate. But again, it makes my point about poor communication and follow-through. The idea of a mobile-detailing service, with pick-up and delivery, is an appealing one. But proper communication and record-keeping is essential. I was coming in from out of town, and had that one day only--July 14-- to get the car ready for showing, so there was no margin for error on this straightforward task. I hope you will use this review as an opportunity to improve you process. With proper communication, record-keeping and scheduling, you will have the proper time to perform high-quality work for ALL of your customers. Remember that people are twice as likely to talk about bad customer service experiences than they are to talk about good experiences.
