Breakfast at this location is decent. I wish they would offer freshly homemade squeezed fruit juice, considering they are a diner in the upscale downtown celebration. Waitress was really nice, she was from the Virgin Islands, very chatty and fun. Ambiance is relaxing. The food could have been better, the bacon came out cold, potatoes were over cooked and eggs were alright. I would recommend this location if you want something quick and cheap to eat for breakfast. Came here with the family, while vacationing in Orlando,, reviews looked good, so decided to try it out, breakfast the wife and I got the South of the border skillet, it was a lot bigger than what it looks like, very well packed and very tasty, really can't go wrong with this. The kiddos has Belgium waffles and apple crisps pancakes. The adults had a side of the Lemon, pancotta cheese pancakes, really tasty and great, coffe to me was ok, would have liked it a bit stronger, but did have a good taste. I've never had a Dutch Baby pancake before, so when I saw it on the menu, I ordered it. A Dutch Baby is much larger and thicker than a regular pancake, and is baked rather than fried. It can be made sweet or savory. Mine was just slightly sweet and topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and powdered sugar. It was delicious. This was a wonderful find while vacationing at Disney. I'm a sucker for local spots and love the homey, relaxing feel of a diner. This place didn't disappoint. The inside was casual with a 1950s feel, great vibe for a diner! Waitstaff we're very kind and patient and answered all of our questions. The coffee was exceptional considering that diner coffee is usually sub par or downright awful. Smooth, full bodied with just enough caffeine. They offered a to go cup when we were finished--an added bonus. The food was again better than expected. My nephew had the chocolate chip pancakes which was a much bigger portion than expected (really could feed two adults). He loved them so I tried some too. Moist and full of flavor not cakes or dry and the chocolate was slightly softened which was lovely. My daughter had a waffle. She scarfed it down and normally is a picky eater so I was happy to see her eat with such gusto. So, this restaurant seems to have changed ownership yet again and is now being called the Downtown Diner with a seemingly scaled back menu. We experienced this restaurant this evening and thought about ordering a foot long hot dog....but they don't offer it with chili and cheese. Why offer a hot dog if you can't offer basic toppings. So we ordered instead a cheeseburger ($10) with curly fries and chicken tenders with curly fries. The burger was tasty. The chicken tenders ($12) were moist and the breading was tasty but quite salty. If they cut down on the salt in half, these will be close to perfect. My favorite dipping sauce is blue cheese dressing which I consider a basic offering....they don't offer blue cheese dressing. I overheard another customer asking for avocado....no avocado. We asked fir unsweet iced tea....they were out of iced tea. How is that even possible? So, our verdict tonight is 3 stars. We will likely go back and hope this was just an off night. This is a pretty cool place. Its set up like an old school diner. The food was excellent and the service was great. We used the Yelp wait list app and were able to walk up and just sit down when wet got there. The banana strawberry pancake skewered were fun and tasty. The country skillet was excellent. The potato's were the best I've ever had. Tasted like baked potatoes turned into home fries, could have eaten these all day. The sandwich was very good, made with English muffin bread. I've been wanting to try a Dutch baby pancake for years and I'm glad I finally found a place that makes them at Downtown Diner in Celebration. A Dutch baby pancake is basically an oven baked pancake rather than a fried one. It's usually topped with fruits (berries or apples) and powder sugar. This place has both options so I'll def be back to try the berry version. Now this Dutch baby pancake was super light and fluffy. The pros were the parts of the pancake with the apples and cinnamon apple filling cause it was light, sweet, and super tasty! The cons were the parts without it tasted "eggy" and wasn't very flavorful. Unfortunately, most of the pancake didn't have the apple filling which would've given it a higher score. Overall, the Dutch baby pancake is one all pancake lovers should try cause of how unique and hard it is to find. I'm glad I finally got a chance for my taste buds to try one and I look forward to trying more in the future! read more

Haven't been here since they got new owners. Menu looks good and some good reviews. Had a bit of a wait, 30 minutes but there was a market going on so we wondered around Celebration until they texted us. I started with a cup of cream of mushroom soup. Thick and flavorful. Followed with the breakfast smash burger. Same as their regular burger but with bacon and an egg on it. Really great burger. Messy so once you pick it up it is best to just finish it. Setting in down and picking it back up is a challenge as it will fall apart. In a good way! Deb had the breakfast quiche. Huge portion. Tasted really good. Great spot for brunch with delicious food. My one complaint is we chose this place over others because on their website it states "Each guest who shows us they are STALKLING US on our Social Medias gets 20% OFF THIER MEAL!! (We are giving away the HOUSE here!!)". This is a false misleading statement. Our wait person said they do not do that anymore. So we were mislead by this advertisement. I have to start with two huge praises: first the decor/music are so on point!!! Love it. Second, our waiter Joseph is a rockstar. Thank you for your smile, hospitality and speed. He was super attentive the entire time to make sure we were happy, didn't need anything, and our drinks were refilled. They have indoor and outdoor dining available. Breakfast runs until 2pm--major win! The menu has breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. No ice cream yet though (meaning no floats), they are in soft opening mode right now so stay tuned for comfort for of items and ice cream. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my mom the Reuben sandwich. Both portions were large and should've counted for four meals but we're on vacation . We called for our waiter, instead the manager comes out and states there was a glitch in the system when the waiter put our order in. It never was placed so they put it to the head of the line. Explain to me how only one order doesn't get placed, and how our waiter never in that whole time came back to check on us, for water, coffee or to let us know what was going on. Great place to go for breakfast/ brunch. But go early especially on a weekend by 10 am they are lined up at the door. We love the Dutch oven baby, great pancakes and great omelettes and skillet pan choices. On the weekend you can catch the farmers market if not raining. Walked in on a Friday 5PM it was already starting to get fairly busy. We were greeted upon walking in and our host allowed us to choose inside or outside seating. We sat outside and it was such a nice environment seeing the lake and everyone walking around. I wish I remember our servers name because WOW was she amazing. Her recommendations were great, and she made sure we were good our entire time! She really helped make our experience great and she is one of the reasons we will be going back. Wanted to like this place. I love diners. Their staff ruined it though. The meal - nice tasting foot long hotdog, tater tots, and green beans. Hard to not like that lunch. The dog was good and truly a foot long. The bun was too flimsy and not wide enough which resulted in the bun falling apart due to the ketchup. Not a big deal but a better bun would improve the experience. The tots were very good. The beans were terrible. It's hard to ruin green beans. They must grill them leaving a semi cooked bean with a weird consistency and a sour taste. Have been cooking fresh beans for 40 years and these are the only ones ever that were sour. None of that is a big deal. What was a big deal is the waitress was rude from beginning to end. She asked me how the food was so I suggested the roll be improved and suggested that they taste the beans. She came back a few minutes later and told me the problem was "you just don't like" Green beans. Overall food was average and waitress was bad. Update: I am amending my review as it is apparently too soon to write an update on the Yelp system. Someone from the restaurant commented on the original review. The first question was when did I dine - It has been several months. I noticed today that I had written the review at the time but not posted it. I corrected that today. The commenter also questioned my review of the diner's green beans. I did not say they weren't fresh. I said I cook fresh beans. In fact I grow beans on my farmstead. I only said they were tough and sour. I asked the waitress if this was how they wanted to cook them and she accused me of hating green beans. How silly on so many levels. I make to no claim to being a gourmand but most seven year olds know how a green bean should be cooked. These were just weird. Bad, sour, tough,and just really weird. But who cares about a few beans, the bigger issue was the rude waitress on the issue. The commenter also questioned if I actually had two sides not one. How stupid to accuse me of lying on that issue. I don't recall why I had two. I suspect I asked for an extra side dish. I love tater tots and green beans. To the restaurant employee commenter - this is Yelp. I have my opinion. Your other diners have theirs. That's the point. Do you think I have some ulterior motive? To question my veracity is pointless. I would suggest you just make sure that the beans that come out of your kitchen taste good. Maybe the chef just had a bad day or wasn't paying attention.
