I have had a terrible experience at this location with Tory. I had a mishap with a UHAUL truck on…read moreSaturday, July 25, 2026. The truck had the wrong mileage on it when I rented it. It was off about 30 miles, not to my advantage. I did'nt catch it until I left the storage unit. I called as soon as I caught it on Saturday morning. I was told to take a picture of the speedometer and it will be corrected on Monday morning. When I called Monday morning to let the staff know, who was Tory, I was a little upset, but I did not cuss or raise my voice. She decided that I was an irate customer and she was not going to let me get in her space and she would not talk to me any further. She was explaining to me the policy about checking the truck out before I left to see if it was OK. I really did not have time to do that in the parking lot before I left. I told her I had calmed down, however, she still refused to talk to me and hung up on me. I called back and she let it go to another location, I have been at this facility for 12 years renting trucks and storage space, I have never had any trouble. Good Customer service is rare. At this point I am trying to find the regional or area manager to make a complaint. They did correct the problem, but there was no reason for her to hang up on me.

Had to rent a van for moving my daughters to their new place and this was a nice close option if…read moreyou live in or near Dearborn. First the positives. The van was newer, clean, tires new, it had about half a tank of gas, and the place was close. Now for the possible improvements for this location and U-Haul. I had to rent through the U- Haul app because there is no employee working that location on a Saturday. The app was fairly easy to use and managed but it puts all of the work on the customer. First, we did have a little issue getting the key out of the lock box because of the way it was placed and the door would not open properly (lucky my wife was with me and she was able to get it out with her small hands). Next, you have to take pictures of the entire vehicle to make sure that there are no issues or damages which took us about an extra 15 minutes to complete and go over the vehicle. One other thing that you need to be aware of is cost. U-Haul tacks on some other fees like the "environmental fee" that basically you pay to help keep their fleet of vehicles more efficient, and a recovery fee for whatever reason. This I believe is so that they can keep their advertised rental cost low. I do believe that U-Haul should actually offer a discount for those people who do this total rental process through the app because the customer is truly doing all the work. Lastly, I cannot comment on the location itself in terms of employees or the store itself because as I mentioned earlier the location was closed and no employees were present.
