Quick turn around time to repair just call and keep your ticket handy. Shocking price of $35 for tap replacement ($10 more than the crazy cost usually back home) but they looked great the way he did it. He smiled. Completely ruined all three pairs of my shoes! All of them were very new, especially the black boots, didn't even worn. My white loafers have all the brown marks and black scratches on it and super dirty. It also has spray paint on it too. I cannot remove or clean them off. The black boots the heels has big gaps on it. The leather was cut off for both boots. The beige one has a hole on the heel. I don't know where the good reviews comes from all seems like scam. Especially the one about under $40. Not true!!! Very expensive for only putting rubber soles on the bottom of the shoes. $195 for 1 pair heel only rubber, two pairs of both heels and front. If not my previous cobbler moved, I'll never come here. And I'll never return to this horrible place! The worst part is when I ask him how can I remove the brown marks he told me cannot be removed because it is patent leather. And then he said it came like that, how can you prove it didn't came like that. Not recommended this scammer to anyone!!!Terrible quality!! It is the worse of the worst. Go here!!! This lovely gentleman got the worst stains out of a brand new suede bag I'd gotten as a gift. My dog opened a bag of sandwiches and used my bag as a placemat and it was covered in butter and bacon grease a week after I got it. Was extremely skeptical about finding a place that could repair a high quality leather jacket that had a tear in it. I found Rafik's shop here on Yelp and based on the good reviews decided to take the risk. He told me it wouldn't be perfect and that I would notice the mend but that he would do his very best to make it as neat as possible. End result?... I can hardly tell where the tear was!! I am very pleased with the repair and would recommend him to anyone looking for leather repair. He didn't try to up sell me and his price was extremely reasonable. The shop is very small and parking downtown can be challenging sometimes but it's well worth it! He also fixed the heels of my boots and they look great! Thank you Rafik! The guy there is usually smoking outside the store, waiting for customers to bring a shoe to be repaired. I had one shoe that needed some repair near the front of it and he fixed it quickly and for a reasonable price. I brought in my (fairly expensive) black leather backpack with a broken zipper after reading the good reviews from others. I still had the tooth that fell off the zipper, so I gave that to the man there, too. When I came back a week later, the owner had not only replaced the zipper with a worse quality one without asking me first, but also added grommets that drastically changed the look of the bag. More importantly, the quality of stitching was atrocious, and there was glue all over the leather. Some of the grommets were also not closed properly and were already falling open. I was in a rush to catch a train and was not able to follow up at the time, but I am hoping to get him to cover the cost of another repair man to fix the job. I told him I wasn't happy with the job and he seemed vaguely apologetic, but still didn't offer a solution. I will absolutely not return and discourage others from doing so as well. read more

My friend's dog ate my favorite pair of Italian loafers. I adore these shoes and was sad that in an instance a dog I love had committed this crime against cute, classic and comfortable shoes. I immediately visited a shoe repair shop in Brooklyn and was laughed out the door, same in Boston. I went to three cobblers and all three said the shoe couldn't be repaired and to leave them alone. Then one day while visiting Providence I found Raffi. I told him my tale and he told me to bring them in. A few days later and OMG!!!!!!! They are prefect- like new. I haven't been this happy with a service in a long long time. Raffi is awesome. I would give 11 stars if possible. Left an older Coach purse to have a strap repaired. The owner did a wonderful job in matching the older leather color and grain. I was very pleased with the results. It is so hard to get a good shine in Providence considering that Nordstrom shut their shoe shine stand and all the major hotels have discontinued their in-hotel service. Never fear! A friend of mine recommended that I get my shoe repaired here after having had his stretched out. I took in a pair of well-worn, scuffed up leather loafers that desperately needed new soles. The man there was really friendly and helpful. He consulted me how I wanted the new soles, showing me samples of different finishings and what not. I brought in a pair of Timberland knee-high boots (not work boots!) that I have been wearing into the ground for the past three years. I am very particular about boots, and I needed these boots resoled, otherwise I would have to retire them. I had had my boots resoled previously at a cobbler in Boston while I lived in that area. The cobbler in Boston had merely nailed a new piece of rubber (not the same quality, no treads) onto the worn-down wooden heel. That was not the case here. The guy at Downtown shoe repair leveled off the wooden heel and put on a new sole with treads. He also put new rubber and treads on the front part of the shoe. They wear like new now, and I'm so happy that I don't have to replace them! The cost was reasonable, especially considering that my boots have at least another 2 or 3 years left in them. read more
