There was a cool breeze through the canopies on a very warm day and garbage cans to dispose of our leftovers. When we stumbled upon the gorgeous flower gardens, I could not believe it. There were multiple gardeners working outside of the conservatory and although it was closed, I can't imagine that there was anything more beautiful inside than what we saw outside. We were able to sit over at the benches and rally enjoy the fountain and manicured flowers. There was a large, veryrude family that did come through who wanted to scream at their kids and then try to take photographs in front of the flowers like a happy family. Then allow their smaller children to stomp through the flowers and scream loudly while they stared at their phones. And there were of course at least two young ladies posing for "the gram" that picked flowers and made obnoxious gestures in ridiculously skimpy clothes... I guess those types of things can't be helped these days and they are no reflection on the garden itself, just be prepared for your peace to be interrupted. We also made a quick stop at the Rose garden which I did not find to be quite as beautiful but smelled lovely... There were just too many bugs and it was there were just too many bugs and it was far too warm to spend much time there. If I lived closer to this park, I would come everyday to listen to the sound of the fountain and appreciate the beauty of the topiaries and flowers and I would recommend a stop here for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature.

A wonderful park except for one thing which is kind of a huge thing. People tend to not pick up…read moreafter their dogs even though it's a rule and the tacit societal agreement that you make when you use the dog park. I see people's dogs pooping and the people look around to see if anybody else sees it happening. Only then does it seem like they pick up after their dog. It's a shame. Other than that, it's an A+ rated dog park.

Surprised about the history of the park more than anything else. Build in the 1970s for the World's Fair where dozens of leaders from around the globe including Russian Federation during the Cold War were all in Spokane to discuss about green energy and resource management. This park will be interesting if the focus was on this history, who visited where and what exactly was discussed and agreed on.

We had no trouble with anything the breeder did what so every. Hula had kidney trouble from a treat a friend would buy her when she came to visit and 2 years later it was called off the shelves. By that time it damages a little part of her kidney. Which our vet did everything possible to keep what she had healthy. But 16 is nothing to sneeze at and she ran around right till the end. Cordia, I'm not ready to get another Shima right now because I miss her so much. But when I'm ready I will be back for two. That was my only regret that she only had big dogs to play with and I had wish she had a buddy her size. Thank you so much for the best little Tea cup Shima ever. She looked the same until the end. She wasn't a barker, but she definitely was a talker. She loved playing with children and would run around them. She sat quietly for older people and ran like a speed racer. I'm sorry for the people who had not so good experience but we had nothing but greatness with hula girl. She graduated top of her puppy class, agility, and adult class. We were definitely blessed. Oh and she loved stand up paddling such and athlete like I said we were blessed with a smart and loving tea cup who thought she was a great dame!

Tip: Running right along the Spokane River, you'll find a paved path that's great for either walking or running :-) This park is a good place to head for if you want to go for a run, a walk, or just spend some quiet time strolling along the path along the river.  There's lots of free parking too.

My partner and I walked about 8 miles, feeling completely immersed in the nature. We hadn't even planned to hike, but ended up doing it anyway because of how fun it was. There was a cool man-made structure, amongst other sights. This place is great for photographers. Of course, the magnum opus of the park appears to be the bridge, which allows you to stand over the beautiful blue water. I love that the park offers picnic benches to sit and enjoy the space. My only complaint would be that there should definitely be more trash cans in the populated areas.

Also the dirt doesn't really keep the dog pee smell down as well as grass does, so it really stinks! Edited to add: there doesn't seem to be a parking lot for the dog park, so I had to park at the kids park nearby and walk over. It's a short walk, but I would have preferred something a bit closer ‍
