In each case, I've been impressed by the quality and consistency of her work. I am selective about where I refer patients, and have felt consistently confident entrusting individuals and couples to Laura's care. Laura is a highly skilled couples therapist, family therapist, and individual therapist in New York City, with particular strength in working with relationship dynamics, communication issues, and complex family systems. Patients I've referred to her have reported meaningful progress, especially in the areas of couples therapy and relationship counseling. She brings a thoughtful, structured, and effective approach to her work. I feel confident recommending her to individuals, couples, and families seeking high-quality therapy with an experienced LCSW in NYC.

A second marriage for both us, we engaged Laura, prior to our wedding not due to any acute crisis but to become more mindful of our own histories and how these might impact the relationship. One of the many insights gained working with Laura over the years is that each partner is responsible for 100% of their 50% of the relationship (LOVE that!!). We were also familiar with the book, Getting the Love Your Want by Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt, best known for co-creating Imago Relationship Therapy. Laura is a certified practitioner of Imago, blending it with her unique style of facilitation. Imago offers many relationship building blocks, such as mirroring and sharing appreciations that fundamentally changed how we communicate. In many ways, Laura is like a relationship coach, holding us accountable for our respective 100% that we each bring to the relationship. Our marriage continues to thrive and benefit from our time and investment with Laura!

The professionalism and level of therapy I have received has been nothing but above and beyond my expectations. If you're looking to make changes in your life and are open to mental health services, this is the place to go to. They treat you with respect, dignity, and uphold a level of integrity that I admire greatly. If you're ready for a change in your life, come here.

So even before my reminder, I was too late to reschedule. I then learned that she had said I cursed on the phone to her, which I never did and never would do. Of course I was upset and angry at their new policies and how the text reminders come *after* the time window to cancel/reschedule, but for someone working a mere front desk position to say that I cursed at her--when this never happened--is just ludicrous. In addition, they now require a card on file to bill. I'm fine with that, although who wants their card on file and who trusts any company with this information, especially if it's a debit card? Still, they're supposed to auto-bill you after each session, and my card has been on file with them since they began this policy. Yet I still have an outstanding balance as they "forget" to bill you and now have a third-party billing office that handles this. When I called the billing office, they said that Nutley Family was "too new" of a client for them to know what I owed, and Tyler was helpful but condescending when I spoke with her to try to clear this up. I would suggest you go elsewhere. People come here in times of need. The staff who work here don't seem to realize this at all. This is a disgrace to mental health clinics. The clinicians I have had have been nice, but nothing to write home about: the best one I had, sadly retired from this practice to start a private practice which I cannot afford... I wonder why.
