We had been looking at houses in The Grand for several years, including wintering in AZ a couple of times. Just hadn't made the move to purchase. We hit it off with Mark immediately; finding him open, honest and witty with an infectious laugh. Most important to us, he was laid back and not pushy. We weren't looking for an agent that day. In a discussion later we decided if we were ever going to buy a property he was our guy! Every agent asks if we are represented when looking at a house and as soon as we say no they are all over us...not Mark. He was great!! Just chill about it. Fast forward to end of January 2026, we had decided it was indeed time to finally make a move to purchase in The Grand. We contacted Mark and he immediately asked about our home priorities in order of importance. He then lined up plenty of showings. We looked at approximately 15-20 properties over a couple of days time that fit our needs. He nailed the properties making it difficult to choose our favorite. We missed on one property, but our original fav had a price reduction and then included the furniture to seal the deal. That's when he kicked it into gear! Mark's communication during the home buying process was spot on. He anticipated the process and kept us up to date on what was happening and could happen. He was patient explaining the various forms we needed to fill out. His experience as "The Real Estate Guy" proved to be accurate and beneficial. His list of professionals he works with made the inspection and selling process as easy as is possible. Most importantly he has helped us to understand Arizona summers and went to our new house a couple of times to check on things we forgot or missed in the shut down process as we live in Wisconsin in the summer. To top it off he escorted us around The Grand showing us all the amenities. Then we went and had beverages. At this point I consider Mark a friend and would recommend him to anyone! Oak Street Properties is a home buying service. Their process is very straightforward and legitimate. Due to our family's dynamics, I am the representative for our family who dealt with Oak Street Properties directly. My family found them from a letter sent to the house earlier in the year offering to buy the house. I made contact with them, provided the home's address and my contact information. We scheduled a time for them to come out and visually walk the house. Chris Ruh came to the house and took a quick walk through and took some photos. Chris was able to make us an offer on that visit. Our family spoke to a couple traditional real estate agents along with a different home buying service who has commercials on TV. When we sat down as a family to parse all our options. Oak Street Properties was the second best option. The traditional process was the best option if everything that was laid out to happen happened as planned. Our scenario did not have the time to make the updates needed to bring the house to the level to require top dollar. Our family's scenario had a few weeks before it was going to be left empty. In the end, due to the area and the fact the house would have been left empty we chose option two. Did we leave some money on the table, sure but Oak Street was very fair with their offer. They truly bought the house as is. During our conversation with Chris he asked timeframe we were looking at for a closing date. Their process is very simple. We signed their offer letter and got it back to them. They did everything they listed on their offer. The only hiccup we had with this transaction was not caused by them, communication with the title company could have been better. If you go through my reviews, I do not leave many five star reviews. I hold them to prefect scenarios and Oak Street Properties sure earned it. I would recommend them to anyone who asks me or finds this review. Thank you Chris and Oak Street Properties!
