Earlier in the day, I called to confirm the order and was told someone would call me back after speaking with a manager. No one ever did. After waiting, I called back myself and was told they didn't have the ingredients to make the cake and had already refunded my order. I received no phone call, email, or text letting me know my order had been cancelled -- I only found out because I followed up. I was told they didn't reach out because they "can't see the app," even though I placed my order online. If the store was able to cancel and refund the order, they absolutely should have been able to notify the customer. Lack of communication for a same-day pickup is unacceptable. The only solution offered was that I could come get a premade cake, which is not an appropriate substitute when a custom cake was ordered in advance for a special occasion. Very disappointing experience and poor communication.
