They leave the line standing there for a while until they bring orders upstairs and hand them to you. I understand if maybe this was necessary, I am just saying it feels a lot less quaint and personal, and more like you're being herded like cattle through a line where the ice cream is put together somewhere else. The old setup was much nicer and everyone I have talked to agrees. Their ice cream is still tasty, we love the sundae bar, and the homemade candy and chocolates are delectable. Kellerhaus has so much charm, and I would love to see the old ice cream setup brought back!

They also offer shakes, sundaes and floats. The prices are kind of high; $9 for three scoops and $1 for a cone plus tax. But, the ice cream is really creamy, flavorful and loaded with chunks, which I like. My friend got a pistachio ice cream and it was LOADED with CRUNCHY salted pistachios... I've never had an ice cream in which the pistachios were crunchy! I wished I had ordered that after I saw hers come out. I got three scoops: campfire delight (s'mores), mocha chip and peanut butter Oreo. I wanted to get the blueberry crumble, but it sold out two customers ahead of me. The campfire delight had a bunch of mini marshmallows and decent size chocolate chunks. The mocha chip had a good coffee chocolate flavor and a nice amount of large chocolate chunks, not merely chips. The peanut butter Oreo had a rich peanut butter flavor. The setting was also great to relax & enjoy our frozen delights! While I was at Weirs Beach during the holiday weekend, I stopped off at Sawyer's On The Pier for a pint of ice cream on a very hot day. I decided to get a pint of the Espresso Fudge Swirl ($7.50 plus tax in 2024) to celebrate summer and the popular summer anthem "Espresso." A week before, I tried to pick up a pint of very limited edition Espresso ice cream at a national ice cream chain shop in Chestnut Hill, MA, but it was beyond sold out for good. The Espresso Fudge Swirl was the next best thing and locally made in NH. The ice cream was hand scooped and packed into a pint container. I enjoyed my pint of Espresso Fudge Swirl ice cream along the waterfront, but it was quickly melting very fast, about half of the pint becoming ice cream soup.
