French toast ice cream. One scoop.
    Tracey B.

Kellerhaus is always a mandatory stop when we are in the area. We love to browse the gift shop and buy some fudge. And of course we always have to have some of their delicious ice cream. They have a couple dozen flavors of ice cream and a make your own sundae bar. The scoops of ice cream are generously sized and there's a decent variety of toppings on the sundae bar. I especially like the peanut butter sauce. I think the ice cream and the sundae bar are reasonably priced. I wish they had a typical display case for the ice creams, I'd like the opportunity to see what the different flavors look like before I order.

Place is always great. Ice cream and toppings are home made. Candy is a bit pricey but again it's made in house. Service is friendly and tables are clean.

This place is super cute and fun. Lots to look at if you want to shop and a delicious ice cream sundae buffet! We were a group of four with two wanting cones and two wanting ice cream sundaes. The servings here are huge so the two scoops were more than just two. They give you the ice cream of your choice and you add all the toppings you want, finishing up with a little flag. They have lots to choose from. The service was quick and friendly, too. Always a great stop!

This amazing chocolate/candy/ice cream shop is a must-see when around Lake Winnepasauke. There ever sort of candy you can imagine. The fudge is delicious. The ice cream doesn't disappoint. I got the coffee with butterscotch topping- delicious. My only caution is buses stop here and there is one cashier so checking out takes a lot of time! Plan accordingly!

This is one of the coolest gift stores I have been too....it's literally a maze with every turn you make filled with surprises. We were told that they had some good ice cream and we decided to give it a try. The have a choice to pick ice creams starting from a scoop to 5, and they come with toppings and you are allowed to put them on yourself. The toppings are included in the price. The ice cream is home made and we gotbthe 4 scoop....apple pie, coffee, maple walnut and strawberry. The ice cream was good and the fudge was excellent. They also make their own candy and chocolate..on addition, have a lot of gifts that you can pick for your loved ones. The staff is very responsive and friendly. I would definitely go back there again if I'm in the area.

The Kellerhaus is the Oldest Candy and Ice Cream maker in New Hampshire Est. in 1906. Still making their own ice cream and over 100 different chocolates in the store. The sweet smell of chocolate greets you from the moment you enter. Nothing like make your own sundae, hot fudge so thick and the icecream delicious rich and creamy. Don't be fooled by the scoop size, they are gigantic. You can spend a good hr or more just walking through the store. I bought so turtles to go....the nuts were crunchy, topped with caramel and covered with chocolate...wish I got more. But there's my reason to come back.

Good ice cream, the ice cream "buffet" is just adding your own topping one time. Decent little place.

Great little nostalgic candy shop with homemade chocolates. A fun place for kids that takes the adults back in time.

Oh no... had we stumbled onto some hippie facsimile of ice cream that would leave us just as fat but not as happy? The next nearest place was twenty minutes away (hey... it's the woods). Maybe we could just pick up a pint of Ben and Jerry's at a supermarket? Oh wait, those are wicked far, too. So we took the plunge. Are we ever happy we did. This is no flimsy health food recreation, this is the real deal. I'd even say better than ice cream. The owner makes it right in front of you--dripping cashew milk onto a frozen counter that he then freezes with liquid nitrogen. The kids had a lot of fun watching it. Everyone was amazed at how good it was. Given the crowd at an off hour of Saturday afternoon, it's a local favorite. It's not like there is any foot traffic. It's almost worth a two hour drive from Boston to have again!

The fudge is to die for and they have so many different flavors to choose from. The shop also sells NH and NH made novelty items... maple syrup, tea, soy candles, chocolates, T-shirt's, sweaters, mugs, body scrubs, popcorn, etc. Although you have lots to choose from and the fudge is amazing... the best part is the warm and friendly service we received even before getting out of our car. The owner was extremely warm and helpful... and customer service is number one in my book! He mentions he will be expanding services even more in the months to come. And I can't wait to be back to have some tea while getting a foot massage and eating some fudge! She's very picky--you'd think that a rock wouldn't be hard to find in the Granite State, but she had stipulations. Plus, it had just snowed about 3 feet, so any rocks that might around sure weren't visible. So, we called around to a few places to ask about rocks. We got a lot of puzzled looks (through the phone), until we reached George. He said, "Well... sure we have rocks. Are you staying Steele Hill Resort?" We were. "Okay, come by tomorrow, and I'll have a couple rocks for you." So, we went. The shop was clearly closed for the winter season, but we called George and he can down from his home (on the same property) and gave us a selection of rocks from the boundary wall of his property. We tried to give him some money, but he refused. We told him thanks and that we would have to come back sometime to check out his shop. He asked if we wanted to check out the candy, and we said, okay, if not too much trouble. Nothing was too much trouble for George. He opened up the shop, told us about how it was a labor of love for him and his family, lots of local goods, including maple syrup from the farm up the street. And fudge, all sorts of different, delicious fudge. They also had plenty of novelty gifts, hand-screened sweatshirts and t-shirts, and a little coffee nook overlooking the fields and lake in the distance (can't remember if we could see the lake--but it was there!). Needless to say, we couldn't help ourselves from picking up a few souvenirs and happily supporting a local business and businessman who obviously cared about his customers and how he treats them. We can't say enough nice things about Granite Life--friendly, convenient if you're in the area, wide selection of souvenirs with local flare, and just a generally good vibe to take home with you. Highly, highly recommended. Oh, and Gramma liked the rock--not too flashy, but she loved the story and the history of it. Mostly, she liked that we made the effort to find what she wanted--thanks, George.
