    Sundae!
    Kate P.

This place is super cute and fun. Lots to look at if you want to shop and a delicious ice cream sundae buffet! We were a group of four with two wanting cones and two wanting ice cream sundaes. The servings here are huge so the two scoops were more than just two. They give you the ice cream of your choice and you add all the toppings you want, finishing up with a little flag. They have lots to choose from. The service was quick and friendly, too. Always a great stop!

This amazing chocolate/candy/ice cream shop is a must-see when around Lake Winnepasauke. There ever sort of candy you can imagine. The fudge is delicious. The ice cream doesn't disappoint. I got the coffee with butterscotch topping- delicious. My only caution is buses stop here and there is one cashier so checking out takes a lot of time! Plan accordingly!

This is one of the coolest gift stores I have been too....it's literally a maze with every turn you make filled with surprises. We were told that they had some good ice cream and we decided to give it a try. The have a choice to pick ice creams starting from a scoop to 5, and they come with toppings and you are allowed to put them on yourself. The toppings are included in the price. The ice cream is home made and we gotbthe 4 scoop....apple pie, coffee, maple walnut and strawberry. The ice cream was good and the fudge was excellent. They also make their own candy and chocolate..on addition, have a lot of gifts that you can pick for your loved ones. The staff is very responsive and friendly. I would definitely go back there again if I'm in the area.

The Kellerhaus is the Oldest Candy and Ice Cream maker in New Hampshire Est. in 1906. Still making their own ice cream and over 100 different chocolates in the store. The sweet smell of chocolate greets you from the moment you enter. Nothing like make your own sundae, hot fudge so thick and the icecream delicious rich and creamy. Don't be fooled by the scoop size, they are gigantic. You can spend a good hr or more just walking through the store. I bought so turtles to go....the nuts were crunchy, topped with caramel and covered with chocolate...wish I got more. But there's my reason to come back.

Delectable Homemade Ice Cream with the thrill of a toppings smorgasbord. They are the best in the state of New Hampshire !

Large Ice Cream - black raspberry chip, shark attack, blueberry

Came here on a Saturday afternoon/early evening and the place was still decently busy with folks browsing the store and ordering ice cream to eat. We had been looking for ice cream for a few hours by then and this was the only spot open as it was mid September and considered off-season. We waited in line for a few minutes, but it gave us just enough time to pick what flavors we wanted and understand the menu. The dessert buffet idea was definitely cool and perhaps if I was in the mood for more sweets, I would've gone for it, but I like my ice cream plain in most cases and I was satisfied with the toppings that came with each flavor so I settled on just ordering the scoops. I found the variety of flavors to be pretty decent and they had blackberry chip which I love so I was excited to see it on the menu. The price was pretty good for the quantity of ice cream we got and I shared a large with one other person - it was a good portion size in my opinion for two and I enjoyed getting to try a variety of flavors. Shark Attack, a vanilla base with white chocolate chips and raspberry swirl, honestly was visually off-putting to me due to the unnatural blue, but with the name it made sense. The taste nonetheless of every flavor was great - I'd order any flavor again in a heartbeat. My reason for 3 stars is mainly the microaggression I received upon walking in - the person working at the front asked if I had been there before and when I responded no, she looked genuinely confused and literally started asking, "are you sure?" before stopping herself and then explaining where things were in the building. It was a little offputting at first as she genuinely seemed like she was going to say something along the lines of, "I've seen you before" and after conferring with a friend, she agreed it sounded like a microaggression. For context, our group is full of people who identify as Asian American and we were visibly the only people of color in the building. She seems to have asked a lot of folks in our group the question upon walking in ( we all arrived at different times ), but even if it is a standard greeting, the sentiment of it coming off as a microaggression has very much stuck in my mind. Overall, I found the experience relatively pleasant and I wouldn't mind coming back in the future for ice cream, but if I come back to the area when it's not off season, I'd be more keen to pick another place due to the slight microaggression.

Friendly staff, clean place and yummy ice creams. The waffle bowl was not good but ice creams were good. Bonus for the kid are the unlimited idea of toppings that they can choose from.

What a delightful "sweet" surprise this shop was! Kellerhaus has been in business for over 100 years, and all their delicious candies, ice creams, and toppings are hand made on the premises. And (important for this part of the country) it is open all year! Kellerhaus offers a wide variety of handmade chocolates: milk, dark, and white chocolate creams, caramels, jellies, turtles, clusters, nonpareils, and chocolate covered treats including pretzels, cherries, and cookies. Did I mention the fudge? Chocolate, maple, peanut butter, with nuts, without, omg all so amazing! Don't miss the ice cream! Of all the flavors available that day, I settled on the cherry chocolate chip, then topped it with the hot fudge sauce (the best I've ever had, seriously), some nuts, and marshmallow cream. Pure decadence; pure delight! One of the flavors was Shark's Teeth: vanilla ice cream with swirls of blueberry (the ocean), strawberry (blood!), and slices of almond (the shark's teeth). I wish my appetite had allowed me to eat more, because Shark's Teeth looked great! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the building itself is charming---very old and rambling---with each room filled with cute and interesting finds. It's hard to leave without finding one or two things that would be great gifts (or, as in my case, that I wanted for myself). If you live nearby or are just visiting New Hampshire, definitely check it out. I only wish I lived closer!

If this place was near me, they would be my go-to #1 ice cream shop. The ice cream was not overwhelmingly sweet and since it was made with cashews it did not have an overpowering coconut taste. This is no flimsy health food recreation, this is the real deal. I'd even say better than ice cream. The owner makes it right in front of you--dripping cashew milk onto a frozen counter that he then freezes with liquid nitrogen. The kids had a lot of fun watching it. Everyone was amazed at how good it was. Given the crowd at an off hour of Saturday afternoon, it's a local favorite. It's not like there is any foot traffic. It's almost worth a two hour drive from Boston to have again!

The fudge is to die for and they have so many different flavors to choose from. The shop also sells NH and NH made novelty items... maple syrup, tea, soy candles, chocolates, T-shirt's, sweaters, mugs, body scrubs, popcorn, etc. Although you have lots to choose from and the fudge is amazing... the best part is the warm and friendly service we received even before getting out of our car. She's very picky--you'd think that a rock wouldn't be hard to find in the Granite State, but she had stipulations. Plus, it had just snowed about 3 feet, so any rocks that might around sure weren't visible. So, we called around to a few places to ask about rocks. We got a lot of puzzled looks (through the phone), until we reached George. He said, "Well... sure we have rocks. Are you staying Steele Hill Resort?" We were. "Okay, come by tomorrow, and I'll have a couple rocks for you." So, we went. The shop was clearly closed for the winter season, but we called George and he can down from his home (on the same property) and gave us a selection of rocks from the boundary wall of his property. We tried to give him some money, but he refused. We told him thanks and that we would have to come back sometime to check out his shop. He asked if we wanted to check out the candy, and we said, okay, if not too much trouble. Nothing was too much trouble for George. He opened up the shop, told us about how it was a labor of love for him and his family, lots of local goods, including maple syrup from the farm up the street. And fudge, all sorts of different, delicious fudge. They also had plenty of novelty gifts, hand-screened sweatshirts and t-shirts, and a little coffee nook overlooking the fields and lake in the distance (can't remember if we could see the lake--but it was there!). Needless to say, we couldn't help ourselves from picking up a few souvenirs and happily supporting a local business and businessman who obviously cared about his customers and how he treats them. We can't say enough nice things about Granite Life--friendly, convenient if you're in the area, wide selection of souvenirs with local flare, and just a generally good vibe to take home with you. Highly, highly recommended. Oh, and Gramma liked the rock--not too flashy, but she loved the story and the history of it. Mostly, she liked that we made the effort to find what she wanted--thanks, George.
