*Note: This is a 4.5 Star review…read more I've had nothing but good experiences with my Asus laptop. I bought it less than a year ago. It is pretty sturdy and I love the touch screen feature. Plus, like with all Asus laptops, it's basically "plug and play." Everything was going well until I saw this line/break on the screen. :( Of course, I went to look for a service center in Megamall. Yes, there is a Asus service drop-off center in Megamall. They informed me that they will receive Asus notebooks and Eee PCs. Then, these units will then be sent out to Asus Authorized Service Providers for diagnosis and repair. Sadly, that will take about a month before you get you laptop back. That was too long for me not to have my personal laptop. Thankfully, another store told me that I should go directly to ASUS World to have my laptop repaired. At ASUS World, I explained what were the problems with my laptop and showed them the receipt with warranty. After filling up a few papers, the representative told me that they would contact me when my laptop was ready for pick up. Guess what, after 3 days, I receive a notice telling me my laptop has been repaired. They had to change the screen and, after diagnostics, repaired a few parts. Since it was still under warranty, I did not have to pay for anything! Woohoo! :D I am happy with the center's convenient location and efficient staff. They even told me that I am still under warranty until June 2016! All in all, I have nothing negative to say about ASUS World's services. :)

I bought a 13-inch Macbook Pro from them, and they offer the Philippine standard for Apple warranties. Just recently, I also bought a 64gb iPad Air 2 from them, and I got it for 28,000PHP, which at the time was a very good price (this was back in January, so it was a new model). Today, you can get a 128gb iPad Air 2 for less than that from online retailers (kind of annoying and sayang, I know). However, I don't regret having bought the iPad that early because it's been helping me a lot with work. Liteware is also a great place to buy cases from. Especially when they're on sale, their prices can go as low as half of store retail prices. That's huge, considering how important cases are for these expensive gadgets. What I don't like however is that Liteware charges extra for credit card payments and installations. That's a huge turn-off because a consumer shouldn't be paying for a STORE to provide an alternative payment option. Not everyone wants to travel in this wild city with 31,000 pesos in cash (the price of the iPad Air 2 had the store manager not made the mistake of telling me I wouldn't have to pay extra to use my credit card), and it should be the store's responsibility to protect the consumer because that money is going to end up in their cash register. Anyway, even with the credit card additions, the prices are still lower than SRP's, albeit by only a small amount. The staff is also pretty accommodating and helpful, so that's a big plus.

There's also a bunch of phone and laptop cases with silly designs like puppies running in a meadow or Angry Birds. (Ugh, Angry Birds died a long time ago. Please don't resurrect it.) They also sell USB cables, HDMI cables, flash drives, and styluses at prices way lower than what you'd find in other stores. For tech stuff that don't require a serious investment, CD-R King is your best bet.

I always thought it was a joke until today, until I saw an actual refrigerator inside along with several bikes in different sizes all waiting to be sold. This store really has everything- screens, phone accessories, laptops, desktops, microphones, videoke machines and some other stuff you never knew existed, trust me it's that comprehensive. It's like a little divisoria of sorts filled with things you need and things you don't need all sold at very cheap prices. The quality of the items seems to be okay. Don't expect to walk out with high-end brands; I don't think they carry them. That's not really their thing. Their thing is imitation and they do it very, very well.

Aside from a laptop, this is where my family bought a printer and still buys ink up to today. Octagon is the ultimate in reliability when it comes to tech stuff and their customer service has always been good.

Cords, USBs, headphones, speakers, keyboards, mice -- they have it all. Apparently they have filing cabinets now as well - luggage, laptops, cellphone accessories and office furniture. What about an alarm system or CCTV? Yes and Yes. One time I even asked if they had a DSL phoneline splitter and they said they normally do, but they were out of stock when I asked. They have branded goods like Imation and Kingston, but all others are basically generic products and they put the CDR King brand on them. They're fairly good quality I'd say, especially if you put into consideration the price. Just don't expect perfect.

Nowadays, they literally tried selling everything with a release of luggage, pillows, and digital cameras. While service is not always a pleasure, its vast array of products compensate for it. Quality wise, the store doesn't really provide ground-breaking technology but enough to get you through the basics. Isko was a big part of my college days back in the University of the Philippines. My laptop is just too heavy to bring to school especially when commuting. What I like about this computer shop is it's fast internet connection and well maintained computer units, despite having a Windows Vista operating system up to this date. Although, I think they should upgrade their OS already, their computers haven't failed any of my usages yet, so I guess there's really no problem with that. I even go to Isko until now whenever I had to upload some huge file on the net. My "12 hours remaining time" of uploading at home is just minutes of waiting time with this computer shop. It definitely makes my computer life efficient up to now! Most people who go here use computers for academic and professional purposes, (I'm not sure if they allow gamers here but I haven't seen one in any of my visits) that's why it has a somewhat library feel, perfect for writing and researching. The staff in Isko is also commendable for being professional with work. You can count on them to trouble shoot any technical difficulties that you may have with the computer that you're using, plus, they're also very alert when it comes file printing and logging in and out of costumers. Rates are only P10/hour of internet, and around P2.00 - P5.00 for their black and white and colored printing. Really cheap compared to most internet shops in the metro. Everything in UP Shopping Center is cheap, anyway, so go there if you're looking for budget computer, photocopy and printing services.

This place has always been more consistent in giving you a peaceful, less heartbreaking experience with your banging out your paper to beat a deadline. It's probably how they've managed to survive staying in the prime spot of the UP SC. The place looks clean and straightforward and business-only even if the person beside you'd just be watching cat videos on Youtube, butyou will easily tune out his laughter while you struggle to contain your tears here. It's comfortable enough and you have a lot of breathing space to calm yourself down with while you juggle browsing your readings with one hand and trying to make your paragraphs look coherent with the other. You appreciate that they don't try to squeeze you in with photocopiers or bookbinding services, so you know you're just getting what you need: a cheap, proper internet connection, MS Office, and a reliable printer. Isko, Kompyuteran ng Iskolar ng Bayan is really just focused on your getting the work done, and you'd realize all along that their name is a tribute... to you.

Small side story: They have this one brand called "Stark" that my brother and I always get amused at when were at the store because we keep on imagining Tony Stark ironing clothes or using a fan to cool himself from the hot weather. In any case, they also sell random little things like cute key chains and as I've said, everything is affordable and cheap so if you have a budget or say, you're...a single parent or a working student...you can check the store out. Oh and make sure to test the items in the store before you buy them so you won't have to return to replace what you bought. :)
