Bad customer service, they made a mistake on my 2 year olds glasses and did not make the process of them fixing their error easy. Bad customer service! I'm updating this because I went to my daughter's specialist and he confirmed that on her 2nd set of lenses the prescription is still incorrect. He is our family eye doctor for many years now. We feel comfortable going to see him and his son. Everyone one on staff are friendly. Today, I came in to get a regular check up for my youngest. She followed the doctors directions while the examination. Dr Boyer was friendly and praised my daughter for knowing her ABC s. So we highly recommend this location for exams. I have never had an optometrist spend as much time with me as Dr. Brian Boyer has. I have been told because of of how my eyes are that I could never use contact lenses. I want to thank Dr. Boyers staff in the upland location I had a great experience. I walked in with my son and was greeted and attended to quickly. I came in with an appointment to replace my son's frames which took under an hour. Staff was very nice especially the person greeting in the front desk she was attentive and made me feel comfortable. I have finally reached that age where prescription glasses will be apart of my life. Dr. Boyers office had helped me to come to that realization. Called to set an appointment to have the lenses changed in my Maui Jim glasses. They are standard glasses with no prescription. Quote over the phone was $110. I set an appointment. Came in for the appointment and the cost changed to $575. Typical bait and switch tactic. Then I told the lady about the quote over the phone. She checked with person in the back and then quoted me $125. Said the previous person that quoted me didn't add shipping. Horrible experience and a waste of my time. Stick with the La Verne office. I went to the upland one and the ladies in the front weren't very welcoming. They could barely make eye contact and brought a weird vibe. I totally understand the covid precautions but just the way the lady that brought me to the back, wasn't friendly either. It was like I was a child in grade school when asked to immediately walk to the restroom and wash my hands. She also asked repetitive questions. The Dr was awesome and very thorough. Dissatisfied with my care here. I had to return to adjust my original prescription, ok that happens. But the coating on my sunglasses that I don't use daily didn't last a year. I broke my frame I bought here when I broke them they didn't have another pair so I bought the same frame at another optometrist office and when I needed an adjustment on the new frame that had the lenses I bought here they had attitude. Today was my wife and I's second visit. Once again it was a pleasant experience for us both. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Boyer and his son are very patient and knowledgeable. They made us feel very comfortable. The family photos are a nice personal touch. Today Oscar helped me pick out my second pair of glasses. He is really good at picking the right glasses to match our faces. So far I've gone with his first pick, he's that good. Oscar was also incredibly friendly. Oscar went above and beyond, he adjusted, cleaned our glasses and gave me some glass cleaner which I really appreciated. I look forward to our future visits. read more

I went to Dr Boyer a while ago because I needed some new prescription sunglasses. Also, I wanted to support the local, small business. They have the worst customer service. They "misplaced" my order and I did not receive my sunglasses for over two months. After finally receiving my sunglasses and on my first occasion of wearing them, the left lenses kept popping out. You could tell it wasn't a good fit for the left lens in the Oakley frame. Went to the store, to have the representative look at it and they reported they could not refund me or reorder the lens. The rep stated they only have a 30 day warranty from the date the order was placed. I said I received the glasses over 60 days after my original order my placed. He stated "too bad." Never will I go to this business again and I recommend you don't go either. read more

I don't want to sound misleading because I have been coming to this office for five years And I think this office is great!! However, I came in to pick up my new glasses (I was so excited) and the lady who came to Greet me was not happy. She didn't really say anything to me. I put the glasses on and she didn't say a word!! She didn't ask me how they fit, or if I can see ok. I told her "I guess these feel okay???" and she says "well here is your receipt"! I felt really uncomfortable. I thought the point of coming in to pick up BRAND NEW glasses was to make sure your able to see and if they fit correctly. She may as well just thrown the glasses at me. I honestly don't know what the point of sitting down and having her look at me when she isn't even going to do that part of her job. So I leave, and I notice that my left lense is a little blurry. We come back to the office and the guys who worked there were super awesome! They answered all our questions about my prescription and it turns out there was a mistake and they switched the lenses in my glasses, causing blurriness. They fixed them in 20 minutes and properly adjusted me. However, This is not the reason That I am writing this review !!!!! She made my mother and I feel very uncomfortable when we came back too by staring at us like she hates us. I am not aware of anything I did to her. I'm also starting to wonder if they would of caught the mistake if she would of properly adjusted me. I hope they discuss this incident in the near future because they lost some very loyal customers. I really enjoy all the people who work here and the doctors so I am sad this happened. Like the doctor said to me, we are not perfect, but we try to be. I completely agree on that.. Mistakes happen. I decided to check this place out after I was sick of my bloodshot eyes and my eye doctor not having any solution and seemingly never getting any wiser. My mother has been telling me to check out this place for years! But my mother had Lasik over a decade ago..back when real lasers weren't even being used, so her need of an eye doctor was slim and I wasn't so sure this place could help my intense blindness. The whole place is clean, friendly staff, and quick response time. I wasn't in the waiting area long. The Doc is very quick and efficient. I went in 4 times in a ten day span. The first to check my eyes out because i needed to reorder contacts. He said it looked like my eye was scratched and gave me some drops (free!) to use then I came in the 2nd time a few days later. He gave me 5 samples of contacts to try. 3rd time came in to follow up on my contact use. I also bought sunglasses while I was there and ordered contacts. They knocked 10% of the price of the sunglasses off. 4th time I came in to pick up my contacts. Also, I only paid for the initial service. Every follow up appt was covered under it. :) I'm pretty stoked on my service. :) read more

Terrible service, my glasses broke les than a year after i got them. I called them and they said they would look into it and call me back. I never received a call back so i called them again and they tell me it's not covered because they broke in the middle. What's the point of having insurance on the glasses? They didn't give me anything in writing to indicate what the coverage is. I have been coming to this location for years but after Dr Boyd left, the service has been terrible. They wanted me to pay $150 to replace the frame. I live in Ontario but never minded driving over there, but to drive over there and get terrible service, so not worth it. They provide a i don't care about the customers type of attitude. I now need to find a new optometrist, definitely looking for reviews before going to a new one. read more

My family has been seeing him since he was across the street in the Target center. 5/6 family members have been his patient. 4/6 received lasik on Dr. Boyer's recommendation.
