The nice thing is that I can ask her any and all questions about my eye situation and discuss any concerns, and she takes the time to educate me and reassure me about my eye health. At age 70, I take my eye health very seriously and appreciate the information she imparts, and also the knowledge that she would alert me to any serious problems and initiate an immediate referral to a specialist if need be. I came away with an updated eyeglass prescription. They have the glasses on-site, but one can also take that prescription to any other place.

Recently I had seriously injured my eye while doing some gardening and by the next morning I realized I needed professional medical attention. I went to Dr. Kim's office to arrange for an examination. While Dr. Kim was not in at the time, her employee, Scott, immediately contacted her by phone in an effort to have me seen late that afternoon. While Dr. Kim was out of town at the time, Scott was able to secure an appointment with Dr. Kim the following morning. Impressive! After examining my eye and generating a prescription for an immediate pick up, Dr. Kim insisted that in the future if any vision-related injuries arise I should immediately text the office, even if it is after-hours. She explained that, as a habit, she will review text messages after-hours and is very willing to meet with a patient, on an emergency basis, to avoid the risk of any long-term vision damage. Several days after my initial visit Dr. Kim then reached out to me via a follow-up email to confirm that I was healing properly and that the injury had been alleviated. Cons: - The front desk team didn't do a great job explaining what the charges were and what my insurance covered. I guess that's partly on me for not asking more questions but asking for clarification once or twice and still not understanding their explanation I didn't really want to ask further - Didn't love the process of starting the exam with someone else where I had to take my contacts out followed by asking me to wait for the doctor back in the waiting room. I feel like once you have me take my contacts out it should pretty much be a seamless experience so one doesn't have to go to the waiting room not being able to see. - The charged me $86/box of contacts. I did 5 minutes of googling and see a wide range of prices but none that high. I found 5 sites that sell the same 1 box of contacts in the $40-$50 range, with some going lower when you buy more. It really felt like they're taking advantage of insurance by having me only pay $21/box and charging insurance the rest. Considering they billed insurance $130, I don't see any reason one should have to pay anything out of pocket for 2 boxes of contacts. Uncertain if I'll go back

Meagan helped me fall in love with what I see--because for the first time, I could actually see! I'm serious. I saw Dr. Ishi, who I seriously cannot recommend enough -- she's truly amazing. She helped me figure out that my previous experience at Costco Optical has, in fact, been totally useless and wholly inaccurate--my prescription has been off for like...10 years??? No wonder I can't see at night! Ha ha! Turns out, my bizarre and highly astigmatismed eyeballs happen to be both nearsighted and farsighted on each respective side..and thus require a certain amount of due diligence and attention--all of which I have never experienced at any other optometrist prior to coming to this place. Literally, one side of my contact prescription was off by 1.5 points or whatever they use to measure it--i mean, what?? Should I contact my car insurance to dispute any claim against any minor car accidents that I may or may not have been involved in over the past DECADE since I LITERALLY COULDN'T SEE!!!?? The receptionist Riley, the technician April, the optometrist Dr. Ishii and the optician Megan were all very nice and patient. These ladies including the optometrist are very professional, respectful and knowledgeable. They all did a fantastic job helping me. The process was very smooth and took less than an hour. The visit was a pleasant experience and I wish I had come here for glasses earlier. I can't wait to have my new pair of glasses from Spectrum Eyecare. I was told it's going to take around 3 weeks. It's the holiday season now so it's understandable that it's taking longer than usual.
