AMAZING! I been looking for frames for almost 2 months. I have been in many places. Just happen to stop by this place and I found it! It wasn't easy but the people that work there really cared to helped me. The picking out was the first step. Then I wanted the glass to be a little smaller. This review is based on my personal experience. I have a 5 year old son who had to get an eye exam due an abnormal eye exam result he had through his pre school. His pediatrician referred me to Dr.Boyer. We scheduled an appointment and the process was quick, the Dr who did his eye exam was very friendly, very professional and explained everything perfectly. He ended up having astigmatism and was prescribed glasses to keep his sight from getting worse. We just picked up his glasses yesterday and my son is happy with them. So listen, a medical professional needs to build a trusting relationship with patients. Dr. Boyer always tries to "upsell," and because of that I have lost my trust in his recommendations. He always tells you to max out your insurance. If the frames you like cost less than what your insurance covers, they push you towards a more expensive pair, for example. Well, that's not too bad of an advice, I suppose. But then it is always something else he recommends, above and beyond insurance coverage--always, always. I have been going there for three years. The first year I went for a routine eye exam and ended up paying a couple hundred dollars for alternate tests to what insurance covers--$40 retina test instead of regular dilation, for example, or bifocal contacts instead of simple reading glasses, Maui Jim frames at $200-$300 instead of a nice pair of $100 Ray Bans that insurance covers. The second year I had learned my lesson--I walked in saying I only wanted tests that my insurance covers, and I was fine! This year, he again recommended another test instead of dilating. When I declined, he said well we don't need the dilation! No?! Then when it's time to get my glasses, they start pushIng some type of coating or another on the lenses, or something else anyways, amounting to a few hundred dollars. I have had Dr. Boyer as my optometrist for many years. I have never been disappointed with either his staff, the wait time, or my exam with the doctor. When I was considering Lasik surgery, he gave me a lot of good information, options and a few referrals. After the surgery, I had Dr. Boyer give me a thorough examination and everything was fine. I had a terrible experience here. I ordered two pairs of glasses with the top of the line lenses. The measurements for the progressive lenses were off on both pair of glasses, which made it impossible to see clearly. After 3 failed attempts to resolve the issue I got a refund on the 4th visit. I took my money and business to Eyecare Associates in West Covina. Thanks to Eyecare Associates I can once again see. read more

Had a difficult time getting an appointment. Canceled because the receptionist was not nice or professional and so I went to another dentist. Got a call a few days later to confirm the appointment. Told them I canceled. Got yet another call about it on the day I had originally scheduled the appointment. Guess I did the right thing in not going to this business. read more

i had my appointment this week, and the client service was great, the frames they have are very nice and at a reasonable price. i was in and out very quick, everyone was helpful. the only reason i can't give the full 5 stars, is because i did get freaked out by a guy who, " apparently works there" who rushed in, with a backpack and some and a black hoodie and earphones.
