We just got brand new carpets 6 months ago and only wanted a quick clean to keep up our 10 year carpet warranty. Dan was unprofessional, disrespectful and extremely entitled. I can't believe how bad his behavior was. Dan showed up and I asked him to put shoe covers on and instead of being respectful he said "well I am going to be cleaning your carpets anyways." Regardless of the carpet, we don't wear shoes in our house. He put them on against his will and made it very clear he didn't want to. Then he came in and made a snarky comment about me being the lady who cared about what was in the product they use. He compared their pet treatment to a febreeze smell, which I do not like. I stood up for myself and told Dan that he was being rude to me and disrespectful of me asking him to wear shoe covers. He just kept saying, "I'm trying to get along with you". But not once was I being someone who was hard to get along with. It was him who was being abrasive. I asked to move on and let it go. He can do his job and I would be in the kitchen if he needed me. He backpedaled because he knew he was in the wrong. Dan then went outside to get the paperwork for me to sign and he wore his shoe covers (that I provided) out in the street and then proceeded to come back in the house. I didn't say anything to him and I signed the papers. Then when he went back out again (with the shoe covers on) I kindly got another pair of shoe covers and asked that he put the new ones on when he came back in and that if he needed to go outside to please remove the shoe covers and not walk with them outside. It's pretty much common sense right? When I ask him to put new covers on he gave such a huge sigh like I was such a inconvenience in his day. I asked him to pack up and leave. That was strike 3. He was out! I told him I would be calling his manager and speaking to him about this. Dan said "fine... call my boss and tell him how terrible I am". I honestly couldn't believe this guy. I called the company multiple times at 8am to try and reach someone. No one got back to me until at least 10 or 11am. I told their operator the story and asked for the manager to call me. He did later that day. He said sometimes Dan has his moments and doesn't get along with certain people. Jorrel apologized on behalf of Dan. He asked what I would like and I wanted my carpets cleaned by someone else. So Alex came the next day. He was very nice and professional. My problem is that OUR CARPET HAS SMELT LIKE WET DOG FOR 4 DAYS after the cleaning. We just had brand new carpet and padding installed 6 months ago. It never smelt. I am convinced that the water they used was dirty and it just ruined our carpets. I would never recommend this company for so many reasons. I want my money back! What a waste of my time and money. We have used this company before and were very impressed. However this last time they did not clean well in 1 room. You can see the rake marks and the squiggle from what I can only assume was the cleaning solution. I had surgery 5 days later and was not able to call in a timely manner, my bad. However, when I called 3 days past the 30 days they indicated that it was a 30 day warranty and they would not come out without a charge. Nowhere is there anything written about a 30 day warranty, or even any warranty. The accusation was I dirtied the carpet and wanted them to clean it for free. June 26, 2024, Chem Dry was hired to clean slip covers on 2 sofas along with other pieces of furniture. The employee left brown spots on the fabric by steaming/cleaning and pressing too hard, per his manager. The owner (Jennifer) called me after her employee let her know they had made a mistake, and they did come back 2 different times to attempt to repair the material/fabric. It wasn't successful so Jennifer found an upholstery shop (Eddie's) to make new slip covers due to their error. Eddie told Jennifer there are 2 options: bring the slipcovers to the shop or bring the sofas to the shop so they could have the exact measurements, and she chose to bring the slip covers to the shop. In hindsight, I might have made the same choice, considering the additional cost, but I assumed they would have the exact measurements for the sofas. I don't think Jennifer conveyed to Eddie's the slipcovers had been stretched due to the failed cleaning processes, so the measurements are obviously different than the original slip covers. When the install of the new covers was complete, I was very unhappy and let Jennifer know these don't look like they did before Chem Dry came to clean the sofas. They are very baggy and should be fitting the sofas tightly. read more

I've tried a lot of carpet cleaners over the years. And though most of them were ok. I really Loved Dr Chem dry. First of all, we got a Saturday appointment which is convenient for us. Dan was our tech. He quoted me via email but offered to come out to give exact quote. I didn't want that. So he ballparked what he could till day of. When he arrived we walked thru the house. I showed him all areas that needed cleaned and one area that was stained from my pets. He wrote up the price before starting work. It was close to the ballparked price. He did an amazing job. It really looks way better than I had hoped ( the pet area was my concern) And one mystery stain was removed. Dan was friendly and helpful. The best thing about Chem dry was the dry time. Completely dried in like 3 hours. We will continue to use Dr chem dry, hopefully yearly . The only thing I felt was overpriced was the price to clean area rugs. Between $1- $2 a square ft. Which doesn't sound like much , but for an area rug 12x8. That's almost $100. These are cheap rugs that I only paid $100 to $150 for brand new. So $100 to clean them is excessive for us. I feel no more than $50 each would be fair. So keep that in mind if you have cheap area rugs that need cleaning. In the past, I have added on the rugs to be cleaned for $15 to $25 each. So even $50 each, I would pay but seems pricey, IMO. read more

We had several rugs cleaned in our home! 5 of the rugs turned out all bumpy and we were told by the Tech that once they dried they would flatten! 5 days has gone by and they are still bumpy and won't lay flat! Punctuality was a problem this visit on April 21st, but Zeke and Paige were so delightful that all was forgiven after receiving an appropriate reduction in price due to them showing up more than three hours after the latest time specified in the appointment. My carpets needed a good cleaning due to a little furry one peeing in every room. I was able to schedule someone to come look at them and to have my carpets cleaned within a reasonable time. My carpets look amazing! I was told if after the first cleaning it seemed like the smell was bad it would be redone complimentary. I notified the company a few days later that my carpet was smelling and they were cleaned again. I no longer see any stains nor does it smell!! Not sure what's going on with their pricing maybe Covid 19. Had them out as I could not get a quote on the phone. They called as promised and showed up on time BUT! I have a 9'6" x13' area rug. $367.00 to take to the shop and deep clean. $250.00 to clean the rug at my home. You have got to be kidding looks like price gouging no pets no stains just traffic from2 adults. The rug is 18 months old I'd buy a new rug before paying theses prices. Incredible customer service and extraordinary results! I had oxidation on a new rug after accidentally overwatering a plant that was nearby making the lite grey rug turn yellow. I tried every home remedy I could until I finally gave in and reached out to "professional cleaning service"(Steam King, Inc.). After a few days of not hearing anything I got a knock at the door and an associate just dropped off the rug. No assistance to move it back in, no explanation regarding what was done. Just a paper for me to sign that I received the "cleaned rug". When I personally laid out the rug it was as if they didn't do a thing. Needless to say I reached out to try to get my money back, but the manager (at Steam King, Inc) was very rude and dismissive. A week goes by and I decided to give Dr. Chem- Dry a go. Techs, Zeke and Paige were very knowledgable, which gave me the confidence to go with another cleaning service. I got frequent updates and my rug ready faster than quoted. Zeke and Paige personally delivered the rug, helped me lug it back into the house, and rolled it out for me. It looks as good as new! I sought out Dr Chem Dry because I'd used their carpet cleaning service in the past and I loved the results. However, my most recent experience with the company was terrible! I scheduled my appt and asked the cost based on what I needed cleaned and was told they have to come out for a consult before I was given a price. I live in a one bedroom condo downtown and only needed to have my living room and dining room area cleaned which is a pretty small area not to mention there is furniture which decreases the area needing to be shampooed. Dan was my tech. The moment he walked in he stated the cost would be $96! I was baffled to say the least and expressed concern to him based on previous price points to have much bigger homes and condos cleaned with the same company. He stated that was the minimum price which no one told me when I spoke to their reps on 2-3 separate occasions when scheduling the appointment. As I calmly express my concern about the lack of communication regarding this "minimum price" Dan proceeded to say I was crazy thinking the price would be that cheap to clean such large areas. He also said "are you done this is getting to be too much I just want to clean your carpet!" I could have easily cursed him into next week, but I took a deep breath and expressed how terrible and unacceptable his behavior and attitude has been. He asked well what would you like me to say? I don't feel like I did anything wrong you have been upset. Again blaming the customer! I stated I was fine until you called me a liar and dismissed my concerns. I went on to share that I train create training programs for customer service professionals and there is no way he as a company rep should be escalating a matter when I, the customer was not fully informed of the pricing structure before he arrived. Even though I didn't talk to him he should be apologetic and ask how I would like to proceed instead of telling me I have an attitude and essentially calling me a liar for saying I paid such a cheap price for larger spaces with their company. I allowed him to clean the carpet because that was my goal. As he began cleaning the carpet I immediately called the company and asked for the manager. Dan heard this and asked "well did they apologize?" I ignored his snide remark. Needless to say the manager never called me back which shows there is no cause or concern for fixing customer service concerns. I even waited an entire week before posting this comment. The service was completed on June 14th. I will never use this company. Recently moved into a new place and unfortunately the landlord was unable to have the condo cleaned before hand since we moved in immediately after the previous tenant moved out. The only carpeting in our new home was simply in the stairwell from our entry to the main living space upstairs. Having used Chem-Dry numerous times in the past at different homes, decided to try Dr Chem-Dry here in Scottsdale. They were able to quickly schedule an appointment for which the technician arrived on time, quickly evaluated the ares to be cleaned and gave us a formal quote which was quite reasonable. Because the carpets were heavily stained, we were not expecting them to come out as clean as they did. As from previous uses of Chem-Dry, we were highly satisfied with the work and how quickly it was performed. Due to issues with the carpeting, the stairs took longer to dry than we expected and had experienced in the past but were perfectly fine with it. I mentioned about being misled with pricing and reading reviews, and they assured me all would be taken care of. After having to schedule a second time due to a conflict they came out and weren't even close to the price range. After pushing a bit on the issue, the retreated a couple of the worst spots for free. But now 3 month later the carpets look horrible again. My advice is get a written estimate BEFORE they do the work. The over-the-phone estimate and $200-$250 based on what we told them we wanted done. Our carpets were dirty and we do have a dog. However, once they had completed the work, they told us it was $595. Yes, they did spot cleaning and there was dog hair, but triple the phone estimate is ridiculous. They should have surveyed the project and given us a better estimate. I understand the person on the phone cannot tell the conditions and circumstances of the actual job, but $200 vs $600 is way out of line. That's why I say get and estimate from the technician BEFORE they begin work. Get it in writing. read more

Hired Dr. Chem-Dry to clean three rooms of carpeting in our home including two stains. One of the stains was a dark grease stain and the other we were unsure of the origin. Carpet looked pretty good when he left but once it dried it was apparent it stains had not been removed. We phoned to see if they would come back and try again to remove the stain and the guy that cleaned the carpet originally seemed offended that we weren't happy with the result. They agreed to return and try again all they accomplished was to spread the stain over a larger area. A totally unpleasant experience. We have now hired another company to help because of the difficult attitude of Dr Chem-Dry. We would recommend using someone else. read more
