However, once I transitioned to Kaiser co-pays ($35), the quality of care plummeted. This clinic feels overbooked, operating on a "turn and burn" model where patients are rushed through to maximize volume. The lobby is tiny, and the walls are paper-thin. You can hear every gasp of pain from the other rooms, which is unsettling.My appointments consistently started 10-15 minutes late. While my first session included acupuncture, subsequent visits were mostly just heat packs with minimal hands-on work. During my third visit, the practitioner applied forceful pressure to my ankle tendons despite my vocalizing pain. This triggered a migraine. I left feeling worse than when I arrived; two days later, my ankle feels bruised and sprained. The takeaway from this clinic seems to be "use heat packs and drink ginger powder." If you want actual individualized care rather than a rushed, one-size-fits-all heat treatment, look elsewhere. Left with bruising and more pain then what i came in with.

My grandfather practiced Chinese medicine. I remember as a young child seeing him do acupuncture on himself (it freaked us out lol) and giving us these Chinese herbs and soups to drink. I didn't think much of it in my teens and twenties. When I hit my thirties, I realized its benefits and started seeing my high school friend for acupuncture on a regular basis. It can be used to help with chronic pain, headaches, migraines, arthritis, insomnia, infertility and reducing anxiety. Her studio is far and I ultimately stopped going. I was also experiencing stiff necks and constant knots in my shoulder blades and found a local chiropractor that I saw but also stopped going since the pain subsided with home self care. Over the past decade, I try to maintain myself and have things I do to relieve stress. Lifting weights, walking the trails on a regular basis, stress relieving activities (reading, gardening, coloring, etc.) I've been happy to report those things have worked but now reaching my mid-40s, I need extra assistance. Fun times when I realized my left shoulder couldn't extend back all the way anymore and experiencing more shoulder pains and migraines.
