I use to go to Tufts in Boston a few years ago before the pandemic hit, but the ride to Boston from the Cape is way too long and the days use to be to dragged out. My PCPs office recommend Dr. Dental in Plymouth, MA. I first went here in December of 2021 for my x-rays and cleaning than I had to get some cavities filled and a crown. I also, had to get partials. Dr. Patel is professional, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and he listens to his patients cares and concerns and gives wonderful advise. He's absolutely amazing with children and addresses their cares and concerns as well. The office, rooms and bathrooms are clean. I just went in yesterday for an extraction with one of their oral surgeons.When you walk in the music is way too loud.Once back in the chair the assistant was taking an X-ray when she ended up hitting the camera up against the film cartridge in my mouth.Then when she went to remove the blanket she took some of my hair with it.After getting numbed up for the procedure the doctor actually used some instruments that I had never experienced before with an extraction. I have had most of my teeth removed before this and I usually know what to expect.This was by far the worst experience I've ever had before.He broke the tooth which was only a stub as it had already broken at the gum line.He used a scalpel and a water drill that got water all over me-I was literally soaked through to my pants!He bruised me up pretty badly and there was no need of it at all.He was a total hack!It took him almost 10 minutes to get it out! I have never needed stitches before especially on such a small tooth.If you really need work done go to Middleboro Oral Surgery. I wished I had gone back there instead. I had the best experience with them.They are caring and efficient and quick!Take good care of yourselves out there!! read more

Worst experience of my life . I went to get my molar taken out and the doctor George okoro was prying my tooth out repeatedly and slipped cutting open my gums blood everywhere . After 45 minutes of unsuccessful attempts , he waved the white flag and says he can't take out my tooth and needs to refer me to an oral surgeon ! He tries to say that although in his 16 year career this has never happened , that it's a normal occurrence. I am speechless and continues to be that this guy is a dentist . He also gave me attitude like it was my fault ! I should never have came here and am going to get the ball rolling looking into a malpractice lawyer . I'm sending an update due to the response left on my review. Unfortunately, the response was nothing but an excuse with no response to their negligence in HIPAA procedures as well as cleanliness within the office. The fact is, the office sent xrays without proper identification, there are still cockroaches in the office and they still have more dentists than you can count. You can almost guarantee that when you return for your 6 month checkup, it will be a different dentist. So save your time and any future aggravation and choose another dental practice! Dr. Dental, it would be within your best interest to reiterate HIPAA laws to your staff instead of making excuses. Facts are facts. read more

I had a chipped bottom front tooth- I was so grateful they could see me on a Thursday. They took me right away, I waited in the chair two hours to be seen by the dentist. They assessed the cost- $454. to repair without a novicaine. Pay out of pocket from the chair immediately with my master card $215. or no service, so I paid. It was repaired nicely, although he , the dentist explained, no guarantees it will hold up , on the bottom tooth, so away I went, I gave them my insurance. I paid the $215. I get my claim statement from Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and my responsibility was $35.00, so I called, they give me a phone number for billing , nobody answers, no voice mail, and this week, it is disconnected, so I called back to Dr. Dental, and they aren't answering the phone this Monday morning at noon. " Not recommended " Other than the employees who were wonderful, Jenny was amazing. And so were the front desk employees, amazing employees, billing was awful. read more

The receptionist was really nice and friendly. The Dental Assistant/ Hygienist was nice but not very engaging. The dentist himself was quite rude. He walked into the room, never made eye contact or shook my hand... just looked at the wall and asked me why I was there. I told him I was new there and that I needed an exam and a cleaning. He looked at my x-rays and told me what he thought I needed done, then gave me a quick exam. He also seemed to get annoyed with me because I was having difficulty understanding his very accent. When he was finished he stood up, told me to make an appointment for the work I needed, and he left the room. No "nice to meet you" no "have a nice day." He just walked out. He left me feeling like I had just wasted his time. He didn't even introduce himself, so I don't know who he was. I've decided I will not be returning to this place again read more

My cleaning was done in literally 50 seconds by an inexperienced lady. The flossing was horrible too because she just covered 60 percent of my teeth and she literally just left out some teeth because they weren't reachable for her. So she just gave up in 15 seconds of flossing and gave me an "excellent" suggestion that I should floss everyday. Thank you Sherlock Holmes. Let's not even start about the doctor because he spent barely any time to take a proper case history. All he did was put his finger in my mouth for 6 seconds and point out 2 fillings in had to get done. The main reason I went there was to get my wisdom teeth removed. I've experienced tooth problems since I was a little girl... got lazy and ignored my teeth... until I needed desperate help on a Thursday night snowstorm; suffered through the night. Then, all dentists were closed Fridays or at noon or needed something from me before I could become a patient and seek relief. This office is open on Fridays and Saturdays! Insurance accepted, but without insurance, they offer reasonable prices that can be paid in cash ... got a cleaning and x-rays, and valuable, kind advice, and the tooth was extracted! I'm not one to go out of my way to complain because I'd much rather make a good review, however, I had a bad experience at this office. I called on a Monday complaining about my wisdom tooth coming in & how painful it was. The woman on the phone was nice & said okay we accept your insurance & you can come in Friday morning. Fast forward to Wednesday I couldn't handle the pain of my wisdom tooth so I called and asked if they had anything available that night. Woman said no but tomorrow afternoon we do. I said awesome thanks. I go in 15 minutes earlier because I knew I'd have paperwork (I was right) but then I didn't get called until 45 minutes after I walked in. When I sat down the woman asked "just a cleaning right?" I said no I called twice about my wisdom tooth. She looked confused but said okay and did I still want a cleaning. I said no I just want my wisdom tooth looked at. She took X-rays and then told me the dentist would be right in. I waited another 15 minutes before the dentist came in. He didn't really say hello and spoke too fast (also had a difficult accent to understand when speaking that quickly.) He looked at my X-ray and said okay we can pull it now if you want. I was so confused I said is it infected? Anything wrong? He asks how much pain are you in? Do you need it out? I said well considering I called to move my appointment closer, I would say yes I am in a great amount of pain. I know nothing about teeth so I didn't know I'd be getting it out that night. I said sure let's take it out. So he leaves and the assistant said ok please go to the waiting room we have more cleanings to do before your tooth and we thought you were just a cleaning so you were only booked for thirty minutes. I just waited in the waiting room for another almost 30 minutes. At this point my Tylenol & ibuprofen was wearing off and I was in pain. They finally call me back and I waited maybe 10 more minutes for the dentist to come back. He said I'm going to numb you. I said okay. I'm not going to lie, I don't handle needles very well so I was nervous and already in pain so I cried when he put the novacaine in. He goes oh sorry, we will pull the tooth when you're numb. He then left me crying by myself in the room. No bedside manner at this dentist what so ever. He came back and started to work on my tooth. It was very quick and not that painful but when he was putting the stitches in I raised my hand to tell them I was in pain and I was ignored. I slapped the chair handle he goes "sorry almost done, don't want to miss" I just sat there dumbfounded. Afterwards he just says "there's your tooth" and left. I didn't see him again. His assistant walked me through everything after and asked if I was okay (finally) I was so annoyed and in pain I just said YUP. Collected my prescriptions and left. By then it was 7:30pm.... my appointment was at 5:30. Thank God I had my mother watch my son for me. This was Thursday 9/20. I was told I'd be fine by Monday 9/24. It's almost the 26th & I'm still feeling pain when I don't take ibuprofen or Advil and I have a huge hole in my mouth and a few random stitches. I really am not one to complain but I don't want anyone else to go through that. It's frustrating and not good if you're already sensitive about the dentist. read more

I would NOT recommend I walked in for a cleaning and to report something about a tooth abscess which had subsided when I arrived because it had already surfaced and I had popped it and released a lot of blood and fluid so i told the dentist this and after he took x-rays and did a cleaning the dentist said that it wasn't due to my old root canal and that it was some other gum desease unrelated to the tooth and I just would have to use a mouthwash to fix it however I knew that this was more serious and i knew there was an infection under the old tooth so i was almost positive it was related to my 12 year old root canal i could feel it and it even had an abscess had popped although he dismissed that since he could no longer see it since i popped it just a week before but i coukd still feel pressure around the tooth, no pain as theres no nerves in that tooth so i continued to search other dentist And they took xrays again they could see that my 12 year old root canal had been compromised and was rotting on the inside and the bone around it also was weakneing and the infection was almost spreading to adjacent teeth so I had to act quickly to treat the tooth or extract it or else I would risk losing my other front teeth so i just recently had the root canal retreatment done elswhere and the xrays already show my bone coming back and i have follow ups to get a new cap soon and to check how the healling is going So I was really glad i didnt listen to the dr dental advice to just use a special mouthwash he was also very rude to me in the office when i told him i smoked weed read more

I recently went to this location for a routine cleaning. The dentist that treated me was not only rude but was also extremely inpatient. When I asked him to stop and/ or slow down the cleaning, he repeatedly told me it was me causing the pain and would not slow down the cleaning. I finally aske him to stop the cleaning. When I stood up I was not only covered in water from his cleaning but was also bleeding out of my mouth due to his impatience. I ended up walking out and will never go back. The dentist used full force his hand pushing against my head to rip my tooth out almost stradleing me. Next appontment for a root canal And filling he started off and didnt numb me up said id be okay ( i made him numb me) whole time his tools were falling on my face up my nose etc . working on one tooth the tools scrap against my others and chipped one. I honestly think the dentist gave myself and my two kids forced cavities by pushing down so hard (and I mean REALLY hard) on our teeth with his pointy "tools" so he could milk our insurance.I wish I was joking but I'm not.I never ever had any dentist push even 10% as hard as he was pushing.They took me and my kids at the same time into different rooms so I wasn't in the room with them to see what was going on.They were with the dental assistants or else I would have never let him do that to my kids.I will never not be with them in a dental room again.They of course will never admit to doing this. read more

I have had a lot of dental work done here am very happy with all of it. I had a front tooth fall out after a root canal, many years ago, from another dentist. Dr Dental did all the work needed to install a new post and tooth. It came out great. I couldn't be any happier. I drive from Weymouth to Plymouth and know from experiences I have at at other dentist, such as Aspen Dental here in and others. This is one of the best places to have your teeth worked on. I have never waited long and the office is always clean. There prices are as good or better than other dentists if you have no dental insurance such as I. I wont go any place else. read more

There are no words for my visit. The hygienist didn't even "floss" my teeth, leaving me wondering if she knew what she was doing. Then, during the cleaning, she failed to use her little sucker, causing me to choke on all the water coming from cleaner. The doctor decided he was going to try and drill right into a possible cavity, hitting a nerve and sending me out of my seat. He didn't even stop when I started waving my hands to stop! Dr. George and the folks at Dr. Dental are welcoming, knowledgeable about insurance coverage, and highly professional. Over the last six weeks we've had three visits: the first for a cleaning and assessment, second for new partial plates, and third to check the fit after a week's wear. The cleaning was the most thorough my friend had had in years, and the plates fit almost perfectly with only a small adjustment. My friend was most appreciative, as it is difficult to find a dentist who accepts his insurance who is also really competent and dedicated to saving teeth, rather than just going for the easy extraction (a sad pattern we have noticed amongst other MassHealth dentists over the years). IMO, this man is a hack. Quick, seems bored with your comments. He cleaned my teeth with a new device which took a couple of minutes, cut my gum, blood everywhere. No apology, teeth were not clean. No hand tools used, simply an electric devise which blows your teeth, he looked away and that's when he cut me. Seriously, took 3 minutes tops. Tried to enroll me in unnecessary procedures as well. This is the worse dental office in Plymouth. I waited in the chair for over an hour. When the Dentist finally did get to me. He argued with me that I had a root canal in one of my front lower teeth. I explained to him that I never have had any root canal work done. He became angry and accused me of not knowing what procedures I have had in my own mouth! He flung around and grabbed the ex ray off the light box to show me, then looked in my mouth, back at the ex ray, back on my mouth again and rudely declared these were not my exrays! He then yelled at his assistant that she was incompetent and order her to do another set of exrays. He was so unprofessional, rude it her. He threw his instruments onto the tray and stormed out. I felt really bad the the young assistance. She was just about in tears! After ANOTHER hour if waiting in in the chair he returned. I mentioned to him that I thought the novicain had worn off and I was afraid that I could feel the drill. He snapped at me that the numbing would be fine...he then tilted the chair so far back I was pratucally upside-down. As he shoved this drill into the back of mouth choking me. I asked him to stop so I could catch my breath and swallow, he got pissed off and said he wasn't going to stop at that point. I moved my head away and told him how unprofessional and rude he was behaving. I wanted to see my exrays to be sure that I actually did have a cavity as he had been looking at the wrong ones to begin with. I became upset and crying at this point I don't want him to touch me let alone go dack to work with his drill. He lectured me on how I was so uncooperative and needed sudated dentisty and I would have to go somewhere else, he could not work on me without it. I have never encountered such a rude and unpleasant dental experience in my life. It is a shame that an educated professional would treat a patient so disrepectfully. Maybe he looks down lower income or elderly patients that have few choices for dental care that are on medicare or mass health. Since then I have been unable to get my dental records and exrays from this office. I have experience pain and damage to the tooth he drilled. I do not recommend this Dr Dental office located in the Stop & Shop Plaza on Samoset Street in Plymouth for any reason. The staff is so unprofessional, the office is dirty and I feel that it is a health hazard for patients. The board of professional conduct and licensing should be contacted. The staff and doctors here needs to be investigated for poor and damaging patient wellbeing, office managnent and dental practices. read more

This dental office is awful!!!!! They don't even deserve one star. I waited over 30 minutes, didn't get called Into a room until I complained. Secretary promised me there was no wait when I called on my way to make sure they were running on time. When I finally got called in, they refused to do a cleaning until they did x-rays, even tho I had recent x-rays from 3 wks ago sent in. The secretary knew I had x-rays and knew I didn't want anymore because cradiatio is toxic, causes cancer, and I have thyroid disease caused by radiation. They are always on time as a rule and depending on what dental assistant you get they do a pretty thorough jobs with your teeth but unfortunately it seems I always get a different dentist to review my teeth history not that it is a real big deal but it would be nice to have the same one all the time. read more

They have a dentist there named Dr. Desai . This guy is the most unprofessional dentist I have ever met . I made an appointment with another dentist there for my daughter and when it came time for the appointment we waited for over an hour and they stuck us with Dr. Desai . This guy is very unprofessional he refused to work on my daughter who is 7 and was there for a filling . He wrote on the note to the pediatric dentist that she was uncooperative and this was a lie . The last time she was in was for xrays and she was a little nervous about them but she did let them be done. Dr. Desai assumed that she would be uncooperative during the filling but he refused to try after we waited over an hour ...this dentist is a jerk. It's pretty funny that my past review is not visible. Also funny that there has been no reviews until I posted one complaining about the service then within days someone raves how great this place is... Sounds like a phone call to a friend was made. No manager has been in contact with me & these problems have not been fixed. The supervisor hardly cares to hear what I have to say never mind trying to make a plan of action to try to fix anything. Dr. Ilyos seems like a much better dentist but is having a lot thrown at him trying to fix all these mistakes and not just mistakes made on me either. It is no coincidence that my husband saw the same dentist & has excruciating pain after she did his filling, witch by the way fell out after maybe 3 weeks & now needs to see a specialist. Not to mention at last visit while I waited for the Novocain to kick in, the woman in the next room was complaining of pain after work "she" had done on her tooth. The girls up front have been great as have the assistants! However, it is unbelievably unprofessional to comment on my bad yelp review but never try to contact me or the office to see if anything was resolved.
