I have had most of my teeth removed before this and I usually know what to expect.This was by far the worst experience I've ever had before.He broke the tooth which was only a stub as it had already broken at the gum line.He used a scalpel and a water drill that got water all over me-I was literally soaked through to my pants!He bruised me up pretty badly and there was no need of it at all.He was a total hack!It took him almost 10 minutes to get it out! I have never needed stitches before especially on such a small tooth.If you really need work done go to Middleboro Oral Surgery. I wished I had gone back there instead. They told me I needed a root canal and legitimately felt bad for me. I over heard 2 of the dentists talking amongst each other trying to find a way to fit me in. They even talked about staying late and as long as one of them could get out in time to drive their daughter somewhere at 6:45pm they would stay to do the procedure. Other than that I love this place! Amazing all over staff who took the time to go over a full FREE consultation (x-rays included) which considering the fact I hadn't gone to the dentist in 4 years prior - oops - is amazing. They don't allow you to have a cleaning on your first visit and they do it for good reason. During the consultation, they go over EVERYTHING. Your teeth, gums, etc. and make a plan of action that will best suit you in the long run. After, when it came time to schedule my following appointments (fillings and cleanings), they worked with me and my insurance company to make sure I was paying the right amount. Luckily I have dental insurance and was able to have a good chunk covered by my deductible. If you are short on money, they allow you to do installments up to 18 months without interest (definitely a option worth taking.) The actual appointments were a breeze. I had 11 cavities filled in less than a week (like I said, first time seeing a dentist in 4 years.) No pain! They know what they are doing. I finished my first installment of cleaning and eagerly awaiting the second. Overall, great place!

I normally don't leave reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others. I was charged over $4k for dental work here, even though my final insurance Explanation of Benefits shows my actual responsibility was less than half that. We're talking a confirmed overcharge of over $2k. When I asked management about a refund, I was told: * they "couldn't see" the finalized EOB (insurance confirmed they can) * I needed to bring them my copy of the EOB (not the patient's responsibility) * refunds take 90-120 days (insurance confirmed this is not true) * billing "can help" (billing told me they cannot) Every time I called, I was immediately placed on hold when they saw my name. When I walked in, I still couldn't get a straight answer. My insurance has now escalated this as a formal case through their Appeals Department, confirmed the overcharge, and assigned a case manager to intervene because the office would not process the refund properly. The hygienist and dentist were genuinely kind, but the front office and management were extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I hope corporate addresses this, because patients deserve transparency and not roadblocks when a documented refund is owed. Sharing this so others check their EOBs carefully, or do themselves a favor and find another dentist.

I've been going to East Grove Family Dental for likely close to 15 years since i was a child…read more Everyone who i have dealt with who works here has always been kind and patient throughout the time i have gone here. I recently had a negative experience here that left me unwilling to come back and feeling almost purposely misled though it is quite possible this is not the original intention. I reached out as i had to have a tooth removed as it was pretty well shattered. I let them know upfront that i just started a new job and did not currently have any health insurance as i was not yet covered. I was told no worries just to come in and they would look at it. When i arrived i referenced the previous call and informed them that i did not have health insurance. i was there for under 10 minutes most of the time in the waiting room; while there the dentist briefly looked at my mouth seeing that the tooth was quite obviously shattered and then took a quick X-ray. I was handed the slip required to have it removed from a different practice at the front desk. When the conversation seemed to have ended i asked the woman at the desk if i owed them any thing, where as she responded with "Nope you're all set." I later received a bill from them weeks later. When i reached out to the office about the bill i had received i was responded to in a much more professional and polite manner; but of which can be summarized to: "well of course you have to pay, you came to a dentist office." I am well aware that as the consumer i am expected to pay for services when offered, however as it pertains to this experience i genuinely felt misled. Though i expected to pay when i first reached out to the company; at multiple points in our dealings it was reinforced that i was "all set" even when requesting information about what the cost would be. It is absolutely possible that this was simply a miscommunication however my requesting to pay my bill on the way out the door and being told i was "All set" cemented in my mind that this company valued me as a customer and they were looking out for me when i needed it. As previously stated with this not being the case it left me feeling quite the opposite. In this case i was the customer requesting information about what this transaction would cost making it clear i did not have insurance; and my concerns were brushed aside with full understanding that i would have to pay them despite the cost and was therefor not considered when it came down to what services to offer and was not informed of what this would cost me. It left me with the impression that the practice down the street that i have been coming to since i was a child was not concerned with the position i was in; and was equality impersonal enough to not inform me of what their services would cost me, even when openly asking to pay the bill while at the front desk. The ambiguous discussion of payment left me feeling mislead with the original impression that the company valued me; where as that same ambiguity left me unwilling to return to this company with the impression that they were not even concerned enough to answer my questions about billing even when standing directly in front of them.

He is a sedation dentist specializing in patients who have anxiety issues. I was concerned that I'd be treated like a child as I was in the past but he treated me like a normal person and I want to say about 3/4ths of the visit was just him talking to me, which I really liked. I hate someone who prods around in my mouth, says two sentences, maybe hands me a referral or prescription and that's it. Their online system is awesome. You can book an appointment and fill out new patient paperwork online. Their system is digital, I was able to see the x-ray they took on a computer screen that was on a track above my head while I was in the chair. When he spoke to the assistant, it was IN the room with me, not huddled outside in a hallway. In fact, they don't even really have hallways - the way their rooms are set up provides privacy but also makes for a less confined experience. The decor is beautiful, the practice is immaculately clean and everyone from the front desk to the dentist himself is actually very friendly. ---------my actual review-------------- I have... an issue with dentists. Though my last dentist was okay, he rarely explained anything to me nor did he seem to treat me as a person, just as a number. I was in severe pain as a result of what ended up being a small cavity in a molar. I explained my past experiences to Dr. Scheiber and he took the time to explain different options I had, the procedures and tell me that he wanted to make me comfortable and to gain my trust. He even asked permission to "take a look". I felt extremely comfortable and I don't think I've ever left a dentist's office with a positive feeling until that day. I found this unacceptable and didn't want to have my mouth torn apart to PAY HIM for a hopefully white tooth!!!! Hope this review inspires him to do better in the future. I have no doubt he does a lot of nice work but I wasn't a good example of it though. My wifes crown has fallen out twice, and I am not not sure if that is normal. I now have a new insurance plan that they won't even consider b/c they know they won't get as much out these value insurers... If he would still fix my tooth for free I'd rate him 5 out of 5 b/c anyone can have a bad day and maybe my tooth was a reflection of this. OR perhaps he used a cheaper process to save a few bucks, He got the new elevator- and I got the shaft.
