Disclosures said to "put a bucket" under the leaks in heavy rain. Started talking to roofers, and some tried and failed (still needed a bucket), but one said it was the chimney not the roof. Jeff came by, inspected, and recommended that the mortar between bricks (eaten away over time by the elements and covered in moss, hint) had to be sanded down and redone. Jeff did that, replaced the chimney cap, and even sealed all around the interface between the chimney and roof. The heavy rains of Dec '21 came and went without a drop. Perfection. What really stood out was how meticulous they were about getting our fireplace prep done right, especially making sure our contractor used the right insulation material so we wouldn't be dealing with bad smells down the road. They'd seen jobs where the wrong material was used and it turned out badly, and they made sure that didn't happen to us. Batteries were changed in the remote and in the receiver but that didn't solve the issue. I have to add at this point, that this unit is in a rental property and we are landlords who were unable to be on site at the time our tenants brought this to our attention. Laurie, a super communicator and troubleshooter, comes to the rescue. She has a few things to ask the tenants to look for, identify and test. She narrowed down the problem all via email and text. Once the inop part was identified, it was ordered. As soon as it arrived, Laurie called our tenant directly to make an appt for installation. Between Laurie and our (fantastic) tenants, they pretty much took care of things between just the two of them . . . all we needed to do was provide payment. This is so, so appreciated and valued as landlords who were unable to be present at the property at the time. Btw, I also have to add that our tenants had nothing but great things to say about Laurie's communication and the installation visit as well - - - on time, efficient, neat, polite and very courteous.
