By Friday morning Jorge was confirming that he could have the roof started by Wednesday of the following week (5 days away) but before I sent him the signed contact my wife had a list of like seven questions/concerns she wanted answered. Jorge answered them promptly and with the answers she was agreeable to. Signed contract was sent over. Two and a half days. That is all it took. A winter storm blew some of the metal around our various vents up and needed them glued back down. Jared got back to me the same day and we scheduled a time for a roof inspection and free quote. Jared was very timely and got me a quote with pictures and details the same day. The price was decent so we scheduled the repair. Ben was the foreman who did the repair. He showed up right on time and did a great job on the repairs. He saw some issues not noted in the quote and fixed them at no additional cost. Ben made sure our perimeter tiles were secure and glued down. He fixed multiple areas where the mortar had worn out and cracked. I wasn't home when he finished the job, so he came back later in the afternoon to walk me through all that he did. Their reputation is such that they do not lack for customers. Details: When I purchased my home, the home inspection indicated the roof needed replacement, which we included in our negotiations. Although we were not in a crisis, the roof nonetheless needed extensive repairs, the extent of which I did not fully understand, so we hired a qualified home inspector to find a roofing contractor for us, and to act as our agent in contracting and monitoring the work. He found Spencer Roofing, and we could not have been happier with the results, which were nothing short of amazing. Spencer removed the multiple layers of roofing -- including the original gravel layer -- evaluated and repaired the underlying plywood roof, eliminated dips and depressions that impeded draining, replaced all of our skylights, and finally laid down a new roof. A separate contractor removed and replaced all the HVAC infrastructure, but Spencer would have done that too. After the repair and installation, I had a few minor issues. Customer service and response was courteous and timely. I recently had an issue a good 42 months after my installation (warranty is 36 months), and Spencer was out to see me two days later and repaired the issue. I am certain there are many fine roofing companies in Tucson. Spencer Roofing LLC is certainly one of the best.

Of course I expected the worse. My experience is that anytime you ask a company to send someone out to evaluate a problem it usually ends up needing a repair of some sort (even if it really doesn't). In this case I was pleasantly surprised! When Monte got up on the roof and evaluated the problem he let me know that other than a cosmetic issue it really didn't pose any immediate threat to the integrity of the structure. He advised me to give them a call within the next few years when the patio roof will be about 20 years old and the membrane that protects the roof would normally start to wear out and crack, and they would be happy to come out and take a look at it. No suggestion or pressure to do something immediately, rather an honest appraisal of the type of repair I "might" need at that point. Wow! A totally unexpected, but really wonderful outcome. This was and is a reflection of both the honesty and integrity of not only the project manager (Monty), but the company as well. It's refreshing, in this day and age, when a company and their representatives adhere to a set of standards that sets them above the norm. I would not hesitate to use or refer Blue Mountain Roofing for any future roofing needs.
