I got told I had to have my thumb "drained" which means they rip your nail off and cut into your thumb in a couple places to allow the infection to drain out. He told me that it would be about 10 minutes in the office with local anesthetics. I was terrified because I had already seen the dermatologist to get my thumb cultured and the anesthetics hardly worked and was extremely painful, since local anesthetics do not work as well when there is infection. I asked if I could do it under general anesthesia and he told me I could but that it wasn't wise to leave the infection in there longer and explained how much more expensive it would be to do it that way. He seemed pretty cold and firm at first, but gave me a lot of time to call my insurance and make a decision while he saw other patients. Because he was firm in his statements, I made the decision to get it done in the office, which was the right choice. It didn't hurt at all after the anesthetics were injected and he talked to me through the whole process. I didn't feel rushed, even though his office is very busy, or uncared about. Though I can see how people could misunderstand his personality at first, I fully believe he cares about his job and his patients. His staff are also wonderful. They remembered me when I came in for follow up appointments and expressed concern with how I was doing. And they've also been dealing with Washington Workers Comp even though they don't normally accept patients going through WA workers comp because of how complicated the billing is between the two states.

I was referred to Dr Buehler following a cage fighting injury to my hand. He talked to me for less than 5 minutes, did not review or take new x-rays, and blew me off with this medieval torture device of a "brace" that made my hand hurt as bad as it did the day following the initial injury. I don't think it was incompetence, I am pretty convinced he was more interested in shuffling me through in minimal time. Not to mention I am sure he didn't take me seriously as an athlete. He did take plenty of interest in the guy in the room next to me and the gout in the man's finger and how surgery could impact his golf game. Incidentally, 2 days later I drove all the way across town to see my old ortho doc to get a 2nd opinion. He checked my xrays, ordered new ones, and Im damn glad he did. Im now in a cast, but Im sure my recovery time will be much shorter with the appropriate treatment.

He monitored my crush wound for infection by keeping me in the hospital for an extended 4 days. Then he saw me weekly in his office while the wound healed. Dr. Le is capable, experienced, and personable. Now that I am at the physical therapy stage, he continues to monitor my progress with a monthly office visit. I especially appreciated his straight forward comments about what I might expect and how I could best maximize my chances for a return to normal with the foot. I had my first visit more than one month ago with Denny Le. This was to be a second opinion about…read morehaving surgery on three toes that are fractured at the third metatarsal. Dr. Le also confirmed that he would not suggest surgery as it may cause loss of circulation which could cause a possible amputation of toes. He had also looked at a toe that bent at the joint and started to pull up on it in the opposite direction, causing very uncomfortable pain. When I talked about very bad pain in my left foot, he took X-rays and then said I basically had to go to physical therapy, because my insurance would not cover injections. This was because he did not want to put forward the effort to write an accommodation letter. I had a wonderful doctor who unfortunately can no longer take my insurance, give me the injections before. While I was glad to get a second opinion, I could not help to feel as though Dr. Le was less than concerned about me and my health. I was really put off and didn't even want to give a review, but after returning a pair of unused insoles that I payed cash for a told it would take 2 weeks for my money to be retuned. It's been more than two weeks and no refund. My feet are killing me and now I regret even going to this clinic. I have chosen to go to another clinic in Lake Oswego where the doctor seems concerned about my health and is treating me. Update: I had to go to the office to pickup my refund in person. It never showed in the mail. I was glad that they paid me in cash, but the fact that I had to go back to there office to get the refund in the first place should not have happened.
