Staff helpful, lots of cheap comics. some nice posters, they mostly had Marvel ones. The playmats were cool. I don't know anything about board games but looks like they had a lot of them. New stuff was pricey but the used stuff was quite cheap so if you're like me and you prefer pre owned collectibles this is a good place to hit. read more

Was visiting for the holiday and took the grandson shopping. This was the first place he wanted to go. In a strip mall with a nail salon and a ballad hall it was not difficult to find. They have a large clean store with everything you can find. Enjoyed looking at the Funko pops. I have a few of the Hamilton ones but it was cool to see the other they have. They have several tables set up for people to play games. They were several here playing D&D which was a blast from the past for me. The staff (Shelley) was very patient with the grandson (10) when he could make a decision on the Pokemon cards and packs he wanted. Very understanding. I myself loved looking at the different cookbooks for games. I am sure we will be back again on our next visit. read more

One the best stocked comics and gaming stores in the U.S. They go out of their way to have latest releases and niche items hard to find anywhere. Definitely THE go to place for fans of almost anything genre related. The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. If they don't have it, they can likely get it. read more

My daughter was looking for Disney Lorcana Cards and Dr. No's was the closest to us in East Cobb. We not only found the cards we were looking for, but books and comic books that she loved looking at. The staff were very friendly and patient with us!! The prices were also very reasonable and we will definitely be back!!! read more

This place is the original and the one and only....and Cliff Biggers is sorta a legend among the comic book world. If you ever get a chance to talk to him it's like talking to a Professor of Comics and Marvel World. This guy has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Comic books. Back in the days when it was uncool to be a nerd....yes once upon a time we had to sit at the lunch table all by ourselves actually we still do....this was a place where you could meet like minds. (BTW I just want to say just because you watch The Big Bang Theory doesn't mean you're part of the club...you gotta know the difference between an AT-AT and an AT-ST... and the password to join is how many Stargate are on Earth?..... Here on a typical day you will meet someone that can curse in Klingon and watch Bob Ross videos on youtube....and if it's geekdom you've come to worship then come it's the one to rule them all.... Dr No's has got all your geekdom in one place so don't have a hernia when you get here. He's got your Marvel geekdom, your Startrek geekdom, your Star wars geekdom (divided into of course the purist vs. the prequels vs. the Disney versions aka expanded universe...) Doctor Who geekdom (quickly name all 13 Doctor Whos...) Japanese Manga geekdom (too many and too hard to spell...all those damn vowels) Buffy the Vampire geekdom, Firefly and all of Joss Wheaton's entire repertoire....I think I may of spied a Benedict Cumberbatch poster somewhere.....there are board games and puzzles galore...and Magic the gathering...I still don't get how to play this game...anyway Dr. No has them all..... Rip-off merchants. Most everything's overpriced and most everything's incorrectly marked. Bags labeled $7.99 are really $15.99, new comics with $2.99 on the cover will be $11.99, etc. Other reviews say they're well-stocked, which is true. But this is because they can't shift anything. The staff are friendly, but they know what they're doing. They watch you with an almost gleam in their eyes as you shop, waiting for you to make the mistake of checking out so they can go "no refunds" with relish. Don't go here to shop. Friendly staff but most importantly they have a huge selection of both comics and graphic novels. Always have the various variants I prefer and helpful with finding things. Dr. No's is a decent comic store, but I have to many hang ups for this place! To be fair here's what I like about the NO; they greet you every time and always ask if you need help, additionally they carry some of the smaller publishers new releases... major plus!!! Now the negative... OVERPRICED! Any variant is at least $20 over going price! IE Del Otto ASM 800 variant I picked up for $24.98, No's prices the trade dress at $119.99. Seriously??? Talk about price gouging!!! Additionally any back stock you have to sit on the floor to shop, as they're located under book shelves! Hey No's! Half of your clientele was buying comics in the 80's... how about putting the back stock on tables or invest in a power lift for you customers. It's time for a remodel and lower prices!!! My $200 weekly pull is being spent elsewhere until you can come to your senses! read more

Update: so the owner answered me back on the google reviews not here. If you read my review, I didn't say spawn, the actual book, was priced at $10.99. Image comics released there books these past 2/3 weeks with spawn on the cover of them. THOSE books are all $10.99. There is no joint pack at cover price. There all $10.99. None, and I mean NONE of those books are "hot" or going up in price on eBay (which for some reason the owner bases prices off of, finds out the dollar amount, then charge 40-50% mark up ON THAT) it's just spawn variants on regular image books that the owner knows is popular so decides to up the price 3X more than cover. Being a high spending customer for years means NOTHING here. One more thing I forgot to mention they do here. If you come in on Wednesday and are looking for a single copy of a book that has gone up in value a couple bucks, they'll hide them behind the counter, say they got shorted from the publisher, then miraculously get 30 more copies on the shelves THE NEXT DAY with an adjusted price (which again, will be 2/3X more than what you'd pay on eBay or any other comic shop around them) Treat your customers, especially the regulars that shell out hundreds of $'s a week, like people not walking wallets. read more

The Good First, the staff is really friendly and helpful, thank you staff. No issues with you guys. **Warning** The Bad, i brought double copies of a few items to the counter to the older gentleman (Owner?) He said you can only purchase 1 issue per customer of the back issue titles i had in my hand. He let me keep one (Gee Thanks) then held the rest back. I assumed it was so others could have some of the comics that had been sitting in their boxes for 20 years without a bite. I left the store perplexed. I went back 2 days later and the EXACT issues that this guy held back are now repriced and on average 2-3 times higher. So basically i did the work finding out what issues are going to be decent investments and then when i get to the counter they decide "wait a minute, why is he buying multiples, lets hold them back and see if we can make some more money on them." My advice to anyone shopping here: 1. Don't go to the counter with multiple issues of the same comic. Not because they want everyone to have a shot at getting them, because they will reprice them if they are hot issues. Im not talking about new issues, im talking about OLD stuff. 2. Some of the new variants are priced double from what other comic stores charge, so shop elsewhere. You can do better. 3. Most of the regular stock is a bit high. Even if you can manage to not get pulled over by the comic police you will still pay a heavy price. My advice to the comic store...If you want to price them high, do it! Just don't do it after someone has brought them to the counter and come up with some lame excuse when you are really about to reprice them and put them back out for MUCH higher prices. That tells me you want your customers $ more than you want their business and respect. read more

They're not the nicest people but they aren't rude, so I can't say I hate this place- but the prices! Omg they overcharge for everything. They wanted $30 for a $7 book! That's crazy!!! They usually have variants but they're scamming people on the pricing. I vote no. Go elsewhere. read more

I will never go here again. I went to find a book that just came out and was a hot book. Selling for above retail on Ebay. I found the book here, but unfortunately, the shop decided that it wan't to capitalize on the excitement around the book and I had to spend almost 10x cover price to buy the book. I could purchase it for retail, and buy $26 worth of other merchandise, or I could get a gift certificate, or buy the book for $30. What kind of business practice is this? This place will never get my business again, and I encourage you to take your business elsewhere as well. I hope my $30 was worth it. read more

I stopped in here the other day with my comic enthusiast boyfriend and his brother. I've been in other comic book stores and this is by far the nicest, cleanest, and most organized. I don't know anything about comic books, so I can't say a whole lot about the selection, but it seemed like they had a ton of different titles. I enjoyed browsing just to read all the different names and look at the cover art. Honestly, I didn't know comic books were a thing people were still into! The staff was friendly and made sure we found what we were looking for. Maybe I'll start reading comics! ;) read more

I don't know what it is, but there's something cool about this shop that keeps me and my friend coming back. I've been frequenting Dr No's for sometime now and I always like coming here and checking out the comic books or the old manga they have. I haven't found one particular comic book series that I like, but from time to time I'll buy a random comic. The store is nice and tidy when we go. I don't go anywhere near the games so I can't say anything about those. I usually get a kick out of the political comic books I see... I've seen ones ranging from Hilary Clinton to Barack Obama... Maybe it's just me who finds them odd. But I just like looking around at everything while my friend is buying a couple of comics. The staff is helpful if you have questions and there's plenty of parking as Dr. No's is located in an old shopping center. They also carry older manga series, but some have been faded by the sun or they're a really incomplete series so you take what you get in that aspect. But this is definitely one of my favorite comic book shops and I will continue to come back as long as I remain a geek... read more

Yes to all!" -- The Big Bang Theory, Season 5, Episode 19 I need a 12-step program when it comes to board games. No really, it's a problem and my closest may need to be expanded to accommodate all the stuff I keep buying, and receiving, and buying and buying and did I mention I should not be allowed in Dr. No's without a chaperone? True story. Lucky for my wallet, Dr. No is not super close to me, but when I need something, or want something, I make the trek. My most recent trip was because I was in need of Christmas ideas for the niece and nephew - and did not want to break the bank. I needed inspiration. In I walked and within moments I had someone helping me (already forgot his name, but he was awesome) and we spent at least 30 minutes walking through the board games and discussing options. Not only did I buy a game for each, but I also have games picked out for both birthdays AND probably next Christmas. Also, I added a couple of items to my own birthday wishlist. Also, we discussed how major gamers come in to play on weeknights and will try any game you bring in and help you test play, learn the ins and outs and find out just how much you like anything new you have. That's a store I can move into... I mean frequent! Dr. No is also a mecca for comic books and figurines, so if you cannot find that Pop Vinyl you have been looking for - this is the place to go! read more

When my family first moved out to the boonies, we were stoked that there was such a large shop right in our neck of the woods. We bought our Christmas presents here, we went to several free comic book days here (and spent extra money as well - haha), and genuinely liked the place, even if some of the staff was a little stand offish. However, last year was the last straw for us. Instead of the kids being able to pick their own comics, my husband and I sacrificed our allotment to the kids because they told us the kids didn't get to pick their own allotment. My daughter selected what she thought was a bag of dice (it was with the dice, it was not labeled as being anything other than dice) and we discovered at home that it was a bag of counters. After a heap of bad attitude, I was not allowed to exchange it. We thought we'd give them one more shot - everyone has a bad day once in a while, right? The staff was rude and unwilling to answer any questions, and openly dismissive of our interests. This place has devolved into a cliquish boys club with no interest in developing any new relationships. And furthermore their prices are more inflated than just about any other place we've been. As mentioned by other yelpers, this store has a lot of various stuff. If it's comic books, card games, roleplaying, or unusual board games, they probably have it. The staff is very knowledgeable, and can frequently help guide you to the thing you really want, even if you didn't know that was what you wanted. If I can't find the game somewhere else, I can usually find it here. On the other hand, their prices are rather high, and they have a horrible returns policy. In the event that you need to return something, they will ONLY accept returns for replacement of the item, and ONLY if you have your receipt. You can't even return an item for store credit toward getting a different item. If you're going to get something here, make sure that it's not going to be something you might need to return. And forget about returning a gift someone bought for you here. I'll go there if they have something I can't find elsewhere, but if I can find it elsewhere with a better return policy and better prices, I'll probably buy it there. read more

This is quite an impressive shop. The selection of trades is amazing! I found the trade I was looking for and others that I'll be picking up later. The shop is well-organized and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately there's no frequent customer program, and they don't give free bags and boards for new comics. This place is great on almost everything they do. The staff is super helpful, and not just in the "I can answer the question you asked me" sort of way, but, "I saw you are buying X, you should check out Y!" A knowledgeable staff is a helpful staff, and I love being turned into new stuff. The layout is spacious and open, and it's easy to find new stuff. The only issue I have is that their back issues aren't priced, let alone priced to sell. if you need a back issue, they have to look it up on the computer. A pain in the butt, especially when you feel guilty for putting it back because they're asking for WAY too much. Why is it that all comic book retailers think that if no one wants to buy a comic for 10 years it's worth MORE money? eBay completed auctions are the sole arbiter of actual value of a comic, unless you walk into a comic book store. read more

I'm a first time collector and I told the guy behind the counter and he was very helpful. He said that if they didnt have the next one in the series when I came back that he could order it for me. A nice store. They carry a wide selection of comics, board games, card games et al. The layout is open and well organized. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are average. I don't live in Atlanta anymore so I don't know how they measure against their competition, but this place suited my geek needs just fine. read more

Very well stocked comic store. The best stocked that I have seen in Atlanta. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in finding what you need or want. They have a decent selection of board games and CCG products. The store has an excellent layout that is uncrowded and great for browsing. Except for that the fact that most graphic novels and comics are packaged for protection. Your browsing will be limited to looking at the covers of the comics and graphic novels. Their prices however are high. Expect to pay more here for pretty much everything mentioned above. I had also heard that their table space must be rented for 5$ if you wish to play games here. Not terribly gamer friendly if you are looking for a place to hang out and play games with friends. They tend to want you to come in buy your things and leave. Only going to them if I need something and they have it and I am not willing to order it online. read more

I'm not a gamer or an avid toy collector, so most of the store is lost on me. The comic selection is a thing to behold though. Wowza. While they don't get some of the publishers I care most about (Graphic India being one - with the exception of 18 Days but everyone has that), they stay on top of almost everything else. I definitely would go here for current and new releases because they tend to get a lot of everything, so it usually doesn't turn into a wild goose chase of bouncing from store to store. The have a treasure trove of back issues, the presentation and store is well maintained, and it's a very large space. The only problem I ever had was over a comic that had just been released and they told me it wasn't supposed to be released until next month. I went to another store and there it was. So I'm not sure if they just had their wires crossed or they were brushing me off. Either way, I got the comic so no harm no foul. The staff is one of the friendlier ones as far as comic stores go. At least the older men that are usually seen bustling around. The younger staff is a little standoffish and extremely loud when talking amongst themselves. When I say loud...I mean practicing really awful operatic arias while shoppers are trying to find their books or enjoy a lazy weekend. Maybe that appeals to some people but it definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth when it starts. Overall, I do like it. Let me preface this review by saying that this only applies to the comics half of the store. I have not used the "games/cards" half. Dr. No's is a fantastic comic book store in many ways; however, it has one glaring flaw -- I'll get to that later. This place has an exceptionally good selection of new releases, current titles, TPBs, collections, graphic novels, and more. The New Releases rack not only displays the current week's new releases (marked with a yellow "new this week" sticker), but they also keep the popular issues from the previous week on display. Another cool thing is the weekly staff-recommended picks; they've all been great so far. This comes as no surprise, since most of the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. In addition to the wide variety of titles, the stock for each title is plentiful. There is rarely a situation where a current issue is simply out of stock. You can usually still find copies of the last 5-10 issues of any given title! They have an extremely good selection of variant covers as well. Many of their variants are overpriced compared to other stores, but the big perk here is that you get a FREE copy of the standard cover version for every variant you purchase! On the subject of variants, this is one of the only retailers in the southeast that gets to stock Phantom variants regularly, so definitely check those out. They sell most current titles for cover price, however, occasionally some issues' prices inexplicably go up as early as a week after the release date. This has caused me to look for certain issues online a couple times, which is really a bummer when you're already there in person, willing to give your money to a local business. Now for the flaw: THEY STORE THEIR COMICS ON WIRE SHELVES! This blows my mind. Half the fun of collecting comics is keeping them in good condition for possible trades or resales down the road. When the new releases and current titles sit on wire racks, they come off the shelves already with little dings, bends, and creases from the wires underneath. It makes it pretty hard to keep comics in VF/NM condition when they don't even come fresh off the shelf that way. Luckily, they often have enough issues in stock to where you can find a decent one in the lot. This is something that could easily be fixed, but I'm not sure why they thought this was an acceptable way to store comics in the first place. read more

WOW lowest of the low. These guys ran an elaborate scam last week that screwed a lot of great customers out of merchandise. Now I know the dc villains 3d covers were allocated. But these guys accepted presales took people's money and then when people came in to pickup the books they were told that a "midnight release" had been help for the jokers daughter book and at 11am when they opened there were none left. On top of that, customers were told that the jokers daughter book would be available for sale on Friday for $60! So A) they lied about having none then B) they jacked up the price and on top of all of that they never told anyone about a "midnight presale" so no one knew to come in and pick up their books. F- awful store. I'll never shop there again. And I'll put in a call to diamond to inform them of the unscrupulous business practices. read more

Why do I drive 1400 miles to go to a comic book store in Denver??? Dr. No's, That's why! Whenever I make the mistake of going here; I seem to forget; nothing is priced! You will more than likely experience sticker shock at the register and just walk out like I do. Good luck enjoying your browsing experience, too. They follow you around and keep an eye on you. You can't even browse without someone breathing down your neck. "Can I help you find anything?" Yeah, help me find a comic store where I can browse in peace! So, I drive to Denver, CO when I need to buy some comics and feel like a customer and not a criminal. I load up on Trade paperbacks and save money, too. Yes, including gas in a Chevy Tahoe for 2800 miles round trip. Oh, and thanks for the DC Comics Presents #22 Whitman variant I got there in 1991. I thought it was a fake and I was out of line to want my $4 back from you and to accuse you of selling fakes. You were right, it was an authentic comic book. I was 17 and foolish. I had been collecting for about ten years at that point and I thought I knew it all! It was a real book... One of the rarest on the planet. Thanks! The ladies at Dr. No's are always super friendly and greet you when you enter the door. I buy mostly new issues from them and they have a gigantic selection. My only complaint is I don't like having to buy bags/boards for new comics. However, overall I like the store. read more

After a life time of hearing about Dr. No's, I finally made a visit about a year and a half ago. I was immediately enamored by the friendly and knowledgeable staff and the amazing selection of comics and games. Buck, Jarrod, Tom and the rest of the gang are wonderful and always willing to help and pointed me towards titles I fell in love with. The prices are good and the location fabulous. Let me start by saying this is the largest and most navigable comic store in the greater Altanta area. They have everything I look for and some things I didn't know I needed but obviously do. They also have the largest selection of graphic novels and compilations of any store I've been in anywhere. The staff is more outgoing then other shops in the area (occasionally this can get annoying as I prefer to be left alone and to shop quietly, but I don't begrudge them their fun.) They layout the new issues in the gaming area on Tuesday so if you want a free preview of new Wednesday covers you can look but not touch. Largest selection in the Atlanta area of back issues and variant covers. If I need something I can't find elsewhere this is the place to go... but they tend to jack up the prices of anything that may hold even the remotest possibility of becoming collectible. Their "free" standard cover with the purchase of the variant cover doesn't seem free to me, it seems like it's built into the price. Even current run stuff that other places leave at cover price until stock runs out they will double or more. They have have some collectibles and toys but not a massive selection. Again pricing on the Pops and other toy items seem a little high to me. All in all a great store for comics, I just tend not to go here first because of location and pricing. read more

I love this store! My kids take martial arts in the same shopping center, so it's easy to walk down and browse during their classes. I'm not a comics aficionado, but they have a great selection of graphic novels, games, and other geeky items. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. I have to disagree with the reviewer that said her kids aren't welcome there - my kids (ages 6 & 7) go in store with me on occasion and are always treated kindly. We love Free Comic Book Day, and though I encourage my kids to make their selections beforehand, we've never felt rushed if they want to look at the titles once we're in the store. read more

Few months ago me and my sister had a frairly bad experience this retailer. Not only were they unhelpful and rude but we're extremely standoffish when it came to us making a selection. Such incidents Like being followed around the store like we were wanted thieves or being ask if we were going to pay for something that we were only skimming the cover of. Though they may have a decent selection of collectibles and games, their comic selection can only be described as mediocre, not seeing anything I couldn't simply buy online or at a different retailer for a cheaper price(PRICES ARE UNREASONABLE HIGH). So to recap: PROS .decent selection of games and collectibles CONS .Unhelpful staff .bad employee management .rude and standoffish .bland comic selection .TERRIBLY OVER PRICED .nothing you probably couldn't find at any other comic retailer CONCLUSION: 1/10 would not recommend read more

I was looking for a particular sort of dice, and Dr. No's was the ONLY store anywhere near Atlanta that carried them at all. I had never been in there until that visit, but I will certainly be back. The place was clean and well-organized, the people were very helpful, and the price for the dice was the same as what I would have paid on Amazon. There was plenty of parking and it was also nice to see that the store was truly wheelchair-accessible, unlike some places that say they are but have aisles that are in practice too narrow for mobility devices. read more

As far as selection goes, this place was pretty good, and if it weren't for the staff I would have rated it better. We went in to get a game and found one that looked interesting but we knew nothing about it. So we loaded an online review by Dice Tower on my phone and sat down at an empty table. There was a group on the other side of the room making characters or something, and they did not seem disturbed. At first the volume was a little higher than I meant to set it, and one of the guys walked over and asked us to mute it. I turned it down to a level quieter than people standing there talking and we continued to watch the 7 minute review. Within a minute or so after, the same guy walked back over and was clearly annoyed that we didn't mute the phone entirely and said "These tables are reserved for gamers only. You can pay the $5 charge if you want to sit here". It was obvious that he had an issue with us for whatever reason, and rather than ask if we had questions or see what we were up to, he assumed we were just being a-holes not doing what he was telling us to. So, we left, and going forward we will go to Hobby Town or Amazon for what we need. Didn't feel good being treated like delinquents and not feeling like we could approach the staff. read more
