The other main structure is the AIDS Memorial. It's dedicated to the victims of the disease. The park was the site of the hospital that played an important part in fighting and learning about it. A few parts of the hospital are still here. The oldest part was turned into apartments, while a newer part is a non emergency care location. If you're around Washington Square Park you should also make your way here. It's a nice park but it's also very meaningful. There's a few cafes and restaurants close to here too.

It's an elevated area with views of Brooklyn and Queens . You came see the ait traffic towers at JFK and even The Rockaways from some points. To get up top there are staircases all around the park. If you enter on the side facing parking lot there is an accessible ramp that takes you to the top as well. Up top you can walk or bike ( shared pathway). Walk around to check out the views or hit the middle pathway for the reservoir views. Signage is good and there are lots of historical and informational checkpoints. We went sort of mid morning and it wasn't crowded. Other evening and weekends when we visited other parts of the park there's been a significant amount of people but not crowded. The parking lot however can get jam packed on weekends. Lots of park workers around cleaning and giving directions etc , It's a well kept park. The picnic areas are nice as well. One side of the Reservoir is very noise due to the Jackie Robinson highway running along that end , heavy traffic sounds. Other than that it was a peaceful walk and bird /nature sounds were quite audible. I nice place to get your steps in and enjoy views.

Dedicated to a heroic police officer, Lt Joseph Petrosino, you can read his story and exploits in the name of justice many years ago on the plaque and newspaper article reprint on the main entrance columns. The plaque says that it's a gift to the City of New York from an interested citizen. What a nice and generous thing to do if you have the means. It's a lot bigger than it appears. I walked from the West Side where I took a photo of the first sign to the East Side where I found a sign that said Pinetum East. There's one small area with picnic tables and then on the East Side a large picnic area. The space called the playground is swings and I saw adults doing exercises near a bar used for chin ups. I remember I never could do those pull ups when required in school. There's plenty of benches in the pines to sit peacefully. The trees are beautiful. I really enjoyed visiting this location today. I think it's a great place to meet friends for a picnic some day!

There are children and adult swings along with sprinklers when the weather gets warm. It is very crowded especially the baseball field where there are games happening along with the crowded basketball courts. Many benches all around the park for people to sit. Good thing about this park is that there are restrooms opened to the public. Usually public restrooms in the parks are closed but thankfully this park keeps them opened. Park is close to the G, J, M,and Z trains so it's very convenient to get there. Also in the middle of the Lindsay Park Housing Corp buildings. Very green too with lots of trees so you know it's very nice.

The park is overall safe. It seems like an okay place for throwing a ball around. The park has a large amount of baseball fields. This park seems to be more of a place for local schools and youth leagues to meet them for the public. It looks clean but the area isn't great. Keep in mind this is East Williamsburg. It's really a separate area. This is still up and coming. It's no McCarren Park of course. One advantage is there's less of a crowd. The people seem more authentic here too.

Wow! I had no clue this park was up in the Bronx…read more I was recently here for a 5K race event. Easy to get to from Manhattan taking the 2 or 5 train to 174th street station. It's just a short walk from there. The park itself is huge and offers a lot to see and do. Baseball/Softball fields, tennis courts and center, playgrounds, basketball courts, pool, handball courts, a lake, BBQ areas, and spacious areas. We ran a course along paved paths throughout which offered nice views. This park is so green! Another nice feature is the Greenway paths here for bicycles and pedestrians which weaves through the park. I feel the park needs just a bit more TLC from the parks dept and community. It's a nice place to spend some time in during the day.
