One of the stunning places overlooking the East River offering panoramic views of NYC skyline, Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty. Visit in the evening to enjoy the view at sunset. This pedestrian walkway stretches from west end of Remsen street to the west end of Orange street with access points at Montague street and Pierrepoint place, Clark street and Pineapple street. There is a park for kids called Pierrepont playground for kids at the entrance of Pierrepoint place. The promenade has wheel-chair accessible entrances. It seems to be a favorite destination for walkers, joggers and for people to capture their special moments like engagements and weddings. read more

This is my favorite place to catch firework shows throughout the year. I also love strolling through the neighborhood. Due to deterioration over time of the rebar structure, the promenade is scheduled to be closed for repairs though other options are being considered to avoid massive disruption and cost. read more

I always bring my out of state visitors to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and they are overwhelmed by this spectacular view. It makes for exceptional photos during the day and at night. Honestly, this is a place that is consistently a part of my life. From dates in high school, to walks with my dog and lunch on the fruit street benches when I lived and worked in the neighborhood, dates when I was swiping right and now family photos. I truly love this spot. Another great feature is the awe inspiring houses. They're so grand and pleasing to the architectural eye. I'll never get tired of the promenade. From the pedestrian-friendly layout to the killer skyline views, it's become an essential part of almost every day for me. I love coming here, alone or with my dog, to wander and clear my mind. It's really easy to access from multiple streets throughout Brooklyn Heights (mostly at or north of Montague), and the northern end leaves you right next to a dog park, and a short walk away from DUMBO/the waterfront. Even if you don't live nearby, the promenade is worth a visit. It's a great way to be close to water and away from the usual city noise. read more

We love this park. My girlfriend grew up with her family coming to this park when she was a little kid. Love the view of Downtown Manhattan looking over the Brooklyn Bridge and New York Harbor. I have photos somewhere that I will post soon. Good park to jog, workout, exercise, and take walks. No homeless lingering around bothering folks. I bet it has its share of riff raff, but its truly a good park to enjoy your partner with, and children and friends with. read more

Keepin it real out here in Brooklyn Heights The promenade is such a popular hidden gem if that makes sense. I never regret making the walk down during my lunch breaks or whenever i'm in the area. The view is one of the best, comparable to the Gantry LIC view imo. The view is always different depending on the time you visit. The sunrise and sunset is truly something else. I hope to one day become those early joggers before sunrise, go out for an early jog and cool down at the promenade to the sunrise. read more

Can I rate this place 10 stars? Lol. This spot was pretty much the highlight of my short NYC trip. I visited during the day and night. During the day there was surprisingly not a lot of people here (even for a weekend). Great view of the NYC skyline. Plentiful benches here to sit down and absorb the sight. BUT!! You HAVE to go here at night! The view of the skyline at night here is GORGEOUS! There were only a few people around during this time (mainly locals walking their dogs), so this time can definitely be treated as a recovery period away from all of the hustle and bustle of NYC. Very peaceful (with the white sound noises of cars driving on the Brooklyn Bridge off to the distance). If you're already planning to visit Brooklyn Bridge Park then might as well stop by here (about a 10 minute walk, though got to deal with uphill/downhill elevation change). Pretty accessible via train (also about a 10 min walk from a couple of the train stations nearby). read more

I think I am discovering my inner Alvy Singer, exploring every romantic spot in New York City. The promenade is no exception. Standing tall above Brooklyn Bridge Park, this romantic walkway really hugs the East River, and it really brings out the best in Brooklyn outside of the Coney Island amusements. Whether it is the holiday season, or the height of summer, strolling this just feels like a New York thing to do. There is the all the sights to take in, like the Statue of Liberty, the major crossings like the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, Lower Manhattan, the New York Harbor, it just feels like a walking postcard. Because of the ice, I was unable to walk too far on it, but that is going to change. Once I get a nice day, I am going to make it a point to visit and explore more New York parks. This one is included on the list, along with the aforementioned park below the promenade. Yes, it is subway accessible. The 2/3, the R, and the 4 each can get you here. Brooklyn Heights has a nice place for walking around. It has a promenade along the East River. This goes one for more than a mile, between the overpriced apartments and the river. Looking across the is one of the best parts. There's lots of cool views. Good place to sit and relax and just enjoy. It has a long path along the river. This has some benches facing the river. It sometimes gets crowded. There isn't much grass by the looks of things. It's more of a path than a park. There's plenty of space so you can get some exercise in without taking up any space. It certainly is the best way to see the river in Brooklyn. Lots of things to admire about it. There's beautiful and plentiful skyline views. read more

After several trips to Manhattan, we decided to spend more time in Brooklyn and explore as much of the borough as we possibly can. We spent an evening in Bedford Stuyvesant around Christmas and, a few weeks ago, spent the day in the DUMBO district. One of the best parts was Brooklyn Heights Promenade! After walking all day, this was a beautiful, peaceful way to just sit, relax, and take in the amazing skyline. I actually dozed off for a couple of minutes on one of the many park benches that are available. Not a necessarily long promenade or huge park, Brooklyn Heights Promenade provides some of the best views of the East River and Lower Manhattan. It's surrounded by a really nice residential area of Brooklyn and allows you to escape the noise and hustle and bustle of the busy borough. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and there were very few people around. It was very cold and windy along the river, so that may have been the reason, but as the weather warms, I'm sure this is a really popular spot, especially in the evenings. I can only imagine what this view is like at sunset. I want to see that nighttime skyline on our next visit to Brooklyn! read more

The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is actually one of the most highly regarded things on Yelp, and that's because everybody absolutely loves it. It's got great views of Lady Liberty and of Manhattan and of everything really. As a-ha once sang, the Manhattan Skyline is incredible, and this is one of the best places to see it from. You're only allowed to walk in here, no driving or cycling or shiz. It's next to the BQE so you can expect lots of traffic. Now of course this is a wonderful place to bring a date, and that wonderful place to come and reflect and take pictures and all that stuff. It's magical. It really is. read more

This is one of my favorite places to walk. I love the views here. It is always a peaceful place, although there always seem to be a lot of people here. Parking in this area is super tricky too. Watch out for all of the "no parking signs." Once you get to the promenade though, it is such a great place with amazing views of the city and the water. I'd highly recommend this place! read more

If I had a penny for every step I took through the years at the Promenade from childhood to present day, I would be a millionaire. It's not a park where one can have a picnic. Nor does it have grass to bask in the sun. But, it is one of the most wonderful walkways with a breathtaking view of the NYC skyline. There are many benches along the promenade to take a seat to enjoy it. Like all Brooklyn residents at the time, we not only mourned the loss of many lives in 2001 but also the majestic Twin Towers that were in full view from the promenade. But being Brooklyn strong, we carried on. Went for a stroll along Brooklyn Heights Promenade on Saturday afternoon. A wonderful trail and park, which I just wish was longer. Quality: Wonderful views of lower Manhattan along this path. When wandering around this neighborhood, you will inevitable stumble upon the park and want to return whenever in the area. Plenty of places to sit and relax and just take in the city. Quantity: Not a very large park, but always more seats than people. Value: Free to visit. Ambiance: Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a walking trail and path that runs above Brooklyn Bridge Park along the East River. It is not particularly long, but it has tons of seats for people to sit and look out over the water at lower Manhattan. It is also very shady, so a nice spot when it gets too warm to be in the less protected Brooklyn Bridge Park. Crowd: Always busy and filled with people exercising and walking dogs. Service: Clean and well taken care of. Parking: Limited nearby parking, but it can be found. read more

While you are in the neighborhood -- have a poke around lovely Brooklyn Heights -- they have plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, etc. Yes, it's way more upscale than it was when Woody was here in the '70's -- but it has it's charms. I absolutely love the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. It's easily the most scenic spot in the borough, providing picture-perfect views of the Manhattan skyline, the East River, and the Brooklyn Bridge. The Promenade also overlooks Brooklyn Bridge Park, which offers an additional destination to relax and appreciate the vantage points along the waterfront. The pedestrian walkway stretches nearly two thousand feet (1,826 to be exact), and while much of it is a flat, elevated platform, it actually consists of four stories. Despite the somewhat confusing topography, the Esplanade is certainly walkable. It can get crowded, but there's usually enough space for social distancing, and I've never felt uncomfortably close to others. There are several benches lining the path, and people make good use of them, whether they're reading, conversing over coffee with a friend, or just sitting and enjoying the view. Oddly, although the Promenade is built over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, the noise doesn't ruin the calm, reflective atmosphere. If anything, it's a reminder that these peaceful places exist amid the hustle and bustle of everyday life in New York City. read more

Brooklyn Heights Promenade is an one-third of a mile long walkway with a spectacular skyline view. While the Brooklyn Bridge Park gives you a closer look at the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan's skyscrapers, Brooklyn Heights Promenade offers a different and panoramic view of the entire NYC and the Statue of Liberty at an elevated level. It is located in the most upscale part of Brooklyn called Brooklyn Height and subway stations are within 10 ~ 15 minutes of walking distance. Comparing with the Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Promenade is slightly less crowded. If you are really short on time, then ideally you will want to walk toward the Brooklyn Bridge because 1) there's nothing too see at the end of the Promenade (walking away from the Brooklyn Bridge) and 2) you are walking farther away from the subway stations. Overall this is a great place for a romantic date and photography. P.S. - Brooklyn Heights Promenade has no-bike policy (signs are posted everywhere), but I still saw few cyclists ride on the walkway. You are allow to skate on the Promenade. read more

One of the best spots for sunset and to view the skyline of Manhattan! If you are in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights is a must see, and the promenade (elevated pedestrian walkway above a highway) is well worth a visit. The only drawback is the trash problem. Overflowing trash cans, and litter all over the place along the promenade. Be sure to walk the full length of the promenade for excellent views of the Brooklyn Bridge on one end and Statute of Liberty on the other end. The Montague is lined with great restaurants for all budgets and some boutique stores. If you are staying in a hotel, Key Food, a supermarket right nearby, is worth a visit. You can get lot of stuff for breakfast and/or picnic and save a lot of money. The supermarket is well stocked and very clean. It's actually more upscale than Whole Foods! read more

I have come to Brooklyn promenade for many many years as far as I can remember in the early 90s as a kid. Wow how the skyline of Manhattan has changed, but still a beautiful view. I have many memories coming here while growing up with the family, getting a pizza pie and eating here on a Friday summer night from taking family photos and walking the promenade along the bqe. This place never seem to change and still has its charm, this place offers some of the best views of downtown Manhattan. You can jog here, take a walk, sit on a bench, take pictures, or if your in love this is nice place to make out or propose :-) lol This is the place to come to during 9/11 when the towers are lit into the sky at night it is a beautiful thing, a little after the attacks happen the tower lights was lit for months now the city does it ever year on September 11. But her creator knew much better, and Truman Capote wrote the book while living in Brooklyn Heights, in an apartment not far from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. I so see why he chose this spot. Few places have captured my imagination like brooklyn heights did. Stunning views of Manhattan, the Brooklyn Bridge the East River; the proverbial brownstone you associate with the area, flowers, trees, street lights. The area was the setting for several different movies and tv shows. I feel sort of lame calling the area "charming" (not a fan of that word or notion) but the place was just that, in the best sense. I so wanted to curl up here and make a little life away from the rest of my world. read more
