The trees also have nice lights on them for a nice lighting effect for the night time. So nice. There are benches and stone tables and chairs to eat lunch. Many people do that there. This park kind of sucks sometimes because there are some random construction workers or people that smoke in the park and too bad the wind is so strong that the smoke goes on you. Other than that, the park is good for sitting and dining. The park is kind of long with stairs by the halal food carts and if you're handicapped or with big luggage then you can go around and enter it without taking the stairs.

It was originally created in 1968 as Liberty Plaza Park. In 2006 though, it was redesigned after John Zuccotti. The plaza is relatively large and it has granite paved walkways, seating areas, and plenty of shade! This park is also surrounded by all of the Skyscrapers in FiDi. There are some notable art pieces in the area too like Mark di Suvero's Joie de Vivre and across the street from Zuccotti Park is Isamu Noguchi's Red Cube. This is a great place to take a break and eat lunch! There are plenty of food trucks and food vendors nearby Zuccotti Park. While I was visiting, there were a lot of visitors enjoying the open seating at the benches! This is also a central location between Broadway and Trinity Place! I'd recommend visiting Zuccotti's Park if you're in the area especially if you're visiting for the Holidays!

Pokemon Day Out event at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6 was so fun! I never been to this pier until…read morethe event. We went on Sunday which was the last day of the event. The event was organized for the most part. But we didn't have issue going through the entrance since we had tickets. The map and the way they set up was explanatory. The staffs were friendly for the most part. We did see one or two looks like they were done for the day (no smile or enthusiasm energy). There were a lot of fun interactive games such as coloring station, tossing beans bags, matching tiles, and fishing game. You and your family can freely wonder around. There were lived performances of Pokemon characters dancing with children on stages at some point. There were photo booths where family and friends can take photos and print them out. The point epic experience for me was the "Meet and Greet" booth. I got to meet Snorlax and Quaxly! I had so much fun meeting them and taking photos with them. They are so cute! This event definitely brings me back to my inner childhood. Everyone at the event seemed to be very happy. Though sadly, we didn't get a pack of fun cards at the end of the event. They ran out of the cards. We ended getting an Pokemon eraser which is still something better than nothing. Overall, it was pretty fun and would love to see these kind of events happen again soon!

The dramatic 27-foot bluestone wall, jagged rock formations, and naturalistic spaces like "The Marsh" make it feel worlds away from Manhattan. There's something here for everyone: * The Giant Slide - A 33-foot-long silver slide built right into a rocky hill that lands in a giant sandbox. * Water Play Area - A "water grotto" with jets and bubbling springs that comes alive in warmer months. * Bluestone Wall - It's epic. In spring and summer, it "weeps" water, and in winter it forms natural ice sculptures. * The North Lawn - A quieter escape with a sloping oval lawn and a peaceful Hilltop Reading Circle. Great for sled riding after snowfall. * Sustainability - The park is maintained organically (no toxic pesticides). * It was designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh and was ahead of its time in green urban design. The park uses 100% organic soils and an advanced irrigation system that recycles graywater from the nearby Solaire building. We had gone 3-0 and already on wobbly legs but wanted one more to really push ourselves to exhaustion and be WHOOPED. A group of 5 17 year olds showed up and I was lowkey like damn I don't wanna play these little kids for our last game but whatever, they got next. We were going back and forth, and to be fair they were actually pretty good but just too frail to give us any problems. At 5'10 174 lbs, I'm a BIG guard. I'm left handed, but shot a right handed floater fading to my right as I'm trying to get better. If you can hit a weak hand floater on the run you will be tough to stop. I bricked it and this little 17 year old kid goes "that's a TERRIBLE shot" looking at me dead in the eyes. Like bro y'all are losing and you suck why you talking? He woke me up and I started actually trying really hard and lowkey busting their ass... but tbh normally I'm not even that good. It was just one of those days where everything was falling. I hit a 3 and yelled out "THAT'S A LAYUP." I drove hard left, euro stepped and hit a tough finish through 2 and yelled "I"M TOO BIG," while flexing. I switched onto little homie and he took a terrible stepback shot after I turned him 3 times and bricked it. I just whispered to him "I don't even gotta say nothing after that one it speaks for itself" which really pissed him off. Then I hit the game winning 3 and did the Dame wave to him as he walked off the court PISSED as hell. I sat down and then he got the courage to say "STOP TALKING SO MUCH" while he put his hand together to mimic me YAPPING. I almost stood up and said "HOW BOUT U GET WIN?" But then I realized I'm a grown ass man and there is absolutely no reason to be jawing at this little kid on a beautiful Friday in New York City. I just kind of laughed at myself and asked what is wrong with me lol. All in all, these runs were kind of weak and this court is in horrendous condition. Pass through the park, and you'll find an elevated bridge that winds down through lush trees to the East River. The skyline comes into view between apartment buildings and It's a beautiful sight. It was a lovely way to spend an evening. The park is lush and well designed, with lots of green space and flowers in bloom. Its waterfront esplanade is a pretty place for a walk, especially as the sun starts to set over the Manhattan skyline. I wandered up the raised slope at the street side of the park, which provides fantastic views across the East River. The elevated area where the jazz performance took place sits right on the water and made for a special setting to enjoy live music. A lot is packed into this section of the park. There's a large soccer field, public restrooms, water bottle filling stations, and a children's play area with shade and water features. I enjoyed seeing the small sandy beach, and BIP connects directly with Marsha P. Johnson Park, so there's even more to see as you walk and enjoy even waterfront green space. I also appreciated researching the site's transformation from an industrial area into a public park with restored natural features. It feels like a space that is actively working to improve and serve the neighborhood, and is well worth a visit. Let's hope monster development projects don't stop the park's promise from expanding even further.

This nice little park tucked in between Eastern Parkway, Classon Avenue, and Washington Avenue, is…read morenamed after Dr. Ronald Erwin McNair, the second African-American astronaut to travel into space[1], who died in the space shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986. A bronze portrait sculpture and reliefs depicting Dr. McNair's life by artist Ogundipe Fayomi[2] are installed on a red marble obelisk at the center of the park. The park was originally named after Brooklyn borough President Joseph Guider. In fact, there is a sculpture at the South side of the park remembering him. The park was named after Dr. McNair in 1986, the same year as the Challenger disaster. Towards the North side of the park there are benches and tables, and there are benches along the side of the park. The very south tip is actually fully enclosed by a fence, which is helpful if you are bringing a dog here, or a toddler who likes to run around. Or if you want to play the trumpet[3]. What I really like is the magnolia and cherry trees in this park. During COVID, when the Brooklyn Botanic Garden across the street was closed, the trees in McNair Park were the closest thing to the cherry blossom blooming festival/Sakura Matsuri you could get in Brooklyn. During the time they were in blossom in the spring of 2020, the cherry trees and magnolia trees at McNair Park provided a reminder that, in stressful times, you can still find beauty, peace, and an opportunity to just relax, albeit temporarily, next to home. ------------------ [1] Guion S.
