    Texas shaped chocolate

I had come up to Grapevine Main Street during Texrail's anniversary week where we could ride the train for free. I had heard great things about Dr Sues and made sure to make it a stop on this visit. The staff member we met was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They had samples of all the main flavors they had. Plus they have coco beans which my kid was excited to see the plant where chocolate comes from. My kiddo got a Texas shaped chocolate on a stick, they also had animals and Dinosaurs shaped ones. Which on my next visit I grabbed a dinosaur shaped one for him. I grabbed a cherry pecan and my sister grabbed another flavor that I can't recall what they had. The items my kiddo and I had ended up being extremely delicious! Everything is a dark chocolate which is a favorite in our house. We will for sure come back and visit every time we find ourselves hanging out on Main Street.

Love, love this shop! They have the best handmade chocolate around. Everytime we visit The Christmas Capital of Texas, Grapevine, we have to stop here to see what eclectic mixtures of flavors they concocted. I bought some blueberry ancho chili and some of the roasted cocoa nibs...both are amazing! Can't wait to come back!

Dr. Sue's Chocolate boasts AMAZING dark chocolate: made with delicious/better-for-you local ingredients like dried fruit, nuts, honey, and more. I wasn't a huge dark chocolate fan until I tried their chocolate -An excellent selection of chocolates. Plenty of samples so you can find what you want, and customer service was good Don't know anything about chocolate? They are more than happy to educate you. Don't miss this treasure of a store in Downtown Grapevine! You won't regret it!!

I was told by some locals that before I left downtown that I had to stop by Dr. Sue's Chocolate. However, I heard "Dr. Suess" so I was expecting something far different than this cute little shop. Everything is hand made in the back and there are lots of samples to choose from. I tried quite a few before selecting a small box of Blueberry-Ancho and a small bar of Hatch Chili Citrus. Great combos both! Staff was great and helpful. It looked like they were filling a lot of mail orders in the back. For artisanal chocolates, I didn't think they were too badly priced.

Stopped in as we walked the streets of Grapevine. A nice young man offered tips on all of the chocolate which is made on site by a two-person team. With the weather being so hot and humid- buying bulk or big pieces of chocolate seemed out of the question. There were no samples and it was pricy to just buy a small amount ($7.00 for quarter pound). We ended up buying two small taster bars which were dark chocolate and enjoyable with a hot cup of coffee. Would recommend smaller pieces available for immediate consumption and samples being passed out. All together though- the young man gave the best customer service he could within his reach.

We stopped here this afternoon while walking and shopping Main Street. It had been awhile since we had been to Grapevine and we had not seen this chocolate shop before. I am glad to say that it is a great addition to the Main Street! Walking inside, the room smelled delicious. Different tables were set up with generous slices of each of their house chocolate. From Hatch Chili Citrus to Midnight Mocha, the flavors were dynamite and eclectic. We purchased a few bars for about $8 a piece. The prices weren't cheap, but also not outrageous for local, high quality chocolate. I was also surprised that they had so many samples. Can't wait to come back next time and see what new flavors they will roll out. What a cool find!

I had the best experience at Dr. Sue's Chocolate! My team and I took a super fun crash course on chocolate here. We made three kinds of delicious truffles. The class was informative and fun! We also sampled the treats around the store and learned about how this cute shop came to be. Dr. Sue is so sweet and very passionate. Don't forget to ask how the store gives back to the community!

What flavor truffles do you have? I didn't see a list on your website.

Our truffles flavors often vary during the year depending on the season but typically you can find: Dark Chocolate Caramel Truffles, Lemon Chiffon, Salted Caramel, Lavender Caramel, Strawberry Habanero, and Espresso.

I am looking for milk Chocolate salted caramels. I like the chewy caramels. Does this place have something that fits that description?

I think they have mostly artisinal made chocolate but I honestly can't remember if they had any other types of candy.

But after all I've tried and loved, the hubby and I are hooked on the Midnight Mocha.

Forgot to take photos but LOVED the setup of this coffee shop and the ample parking. The atmosphere…read morewas quiet enough for me to take my work meetings without a glitch. The coffee was good and baristas were friendly. I could've stayed here working all day. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Dallas. I got an oat milk vanilla latte (not feeling adventurous) but when I go back, I'll try one of their other limited time drinks.

We came around 11 am. Their website makes it seem like they have a lot of vegan options. They…read moredon't, really. There are a couple and most of them are sweet. I was hoping for something savory. We got avocado toast. My husband got his with an egg; I had mine plain. He had an iced caramel latte, and I had a plain cappuccino because that's the best way for me to judge the espresso, besides ordering a straight shot. Food was okay. Did not blow me out of the water. It was decent enough to eat, but a tiny, tiny portion for the price. Somewhere around ten to eleven dollars per toast. One slice of bread, a little avocado, a couple of tomatoes, and balsamic vinegar. Was it tasty? Yes. Was it worth ten dollars? I don't think so. I bought a full sourdough loaf for ten dollars. I understand service costs and all that, but still. Coffee was actually very good, though. My cappuccino had fruity notes, very smooth. They have different roasts, which is nice. The cups and plates are really cute, and the space itself is charming. The lady working seemed very overwhelmed. The place was full, decently loud, line kept getting longer the whole time we were there. My husband didn't love his coffee, and he's usually not picky at all, so that says something. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. But if I needed a place to sit and do some work and didn't need to be on the phone, I'd probably consider it. I just think there are better places out there. Honest opinion. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not, the stars reflect that.
