Hugo was super sweet! I didn't have the best experience getting my piercings done at Claire's as a kid which is why I wanted to redo them as an adult. Hugo fixed the placements of my piercings and was really easy to be around. He shared some interesting stories to keep me distracted during the process. He was super clean. The moment I walked in, he gave me alcohol for my hands and properly cleaned and prepped my ears with iodine, etc. He wore a mask and changed out his gloves multiple times and reminded me to not touch my ears and how to sleep haha. I know these guys have been around and successful for awhile now...but my only experience was from the San Mateo Body Art Expo. I got a great piercing experience from Hugo, but what he tried to sell me afterward was absolutely ridiculous. The piercing was 50 for my medusa, which was alright. But after, i asked for a after-care cleaner...and he sold me a spray bottle of cleaner for $25. I said wow thats a lot...and he said no worries, piercing for 50 and cleaner for 10, leaving you a grand total of 60. Like he was cutting me some deal. I went home and read the bottle...water and sodium chloride!!!! A value of $25 for a bottle of salt fucking water. I thought i was getting a deal for $10!!! I could've made that myself at home bruv!!! Of course, i feel gullible, from not looking into stuff because of excitement lol. This place is a total SCAM!!! Absolutely terrible service and not to mention RACIST AS HELL!!!! My sister and I came in to get a piercing this guy took us in, and told us to fill out the paper and when we asked for his pricing he literally tripled his price and told us it was $75 for a single lobe piercing. I was shocked at how expensive it was and he went on to tell me that he'll give me a good deal and charge me only $100 for 2 piercings. He then directs me to his price list which says each lobe piercing is $25 and $15 for each additional piercing which comes out to $75. So I started asking him that what he's quoting us and what shows on his price list doesn't match. He then tells us.. maybe he's just tired and he needs to look at the list again. So we're waiting and then he literally says without looking at the list- can you come tomorrow? So confused we ask again.. why? I thought you said you'd do it today... and he says "no I'm tired" as he simultaneously accepts another person to do a tattoo. Idk how such a tired person that can't do a simple piercing can do a whole tattoo. So very annoyed I leave clearly feeling profiled and discriminated against, and come back to simply ask him for his name... and he tells me... his name is "Asshole" and to leave. He is a tatted Hispanic guy with piercing on his face with a mohawk! He's absolutely the WORST!!! Don't trust this guy to do anything for you! There was another group of people also waiting to get piercings, but the wait was no big deal. The staff were all super friendly and makes everyone feel welcomed. I came in around 3:30 and got started on my tattoo at 4:00. Jeff helped me and he was so very helpful. It was obvious how much he cares and has a passion for tattoos so I knew I was in good hands. He made me feel very comfortable and told me about how much he loves his job, which really put me at ease. I've been to places where I get my tattoo and leave and I haven't connected with the tattoo artist. I think it's important to connect with your tattoo artist cause he's in gonna be inking you and it's going to be permanent!
