From the very first message, the entire experience was incredibly smooth and pleasant. MJ was highly communicative leading up to our appointment date. I had a lot of ideas, and she was extremely patient and accommodating as we went back and forth on styles. She even had me come in for a quick, in-person consultation beforehand, which was fantastic because it made collaborating and aligning our visions face-to-face so much easier. On the day of the session, the process was amazing. MJ constantly checked in to ensure I was comfortable. She has a remarkably light hand, there were moments where it felt like nothing at all. It could be a little intimidating on the outside, but everyone there was friendly. We got tattooed by mike, lucky for us he said he didn't have any appointments today so he was able to take all 3 of us in. They have flash tattoos, a little machine that has a random $50 tattoo in it (HOW FUN & SPONTANEOUS RIGHT?!), and a bunch of portfolio books. I got a pineapple on my leg, my fiancé got a bigger pineapple on his thigh, and our cousin got a teddy bear on her wrist/forearm. Everything is so clean, and mike explained everything so well. I found Frank's tattoo and piercing shop through his apprentice and I have zero regrets! I…read moreoriginally was going to get pierced by his apprentice but we had scheduling issues so he offered to do it in her place. Frank is THE most thorough piercer I've ever had. I've gotten over 6+ piercings and he's the only one who was the most thorough in explaining everything, the process, and anything else you can think of. He's the first piercer I've been to that uses the hoops to visualize where the piercing will lay and I love being able to check in the mirror. Most pierces just mark your ear and send you off to the mirror but I love that I had a physically element to compare to! The shop is clean and has a great variety of basic earrings you can choose. Frank was super accommodating and friendly. I ended up getting 2 helix piercings near each other and he constantly checked in with me to see if I was okay or dizzy. He even offered sweets. One of the other reasons I'm happy with my visit is he gave other advice that other piercers didn't give me like switch out my pillow (duh!) and place a pillow under your elbow if you toss and turn in your sleep.
