My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Griffith since he 'hung his shingle' in Olympia. In a community where growth has expanded health systems that otherwise remain, for the most part, out of touch with the human side of medical care, this practitioner remains an exception. Every aspect of his practice is remarkable. When you visit you are greeted by a space that is small, warm and inviting; one that strikes the right mix of professionalism and a personal touch. How often is even the reception space in most health care operations any kind of positive experience? Past reception you continue to receive an exceptional experience. Dr. Griffith appears to have intentionally designed a practice that affords his clients the time, energy and focus so rare these days in profit-driven health services. You get the strong impression that he really enjoys the interaction that quality care requires, working with his patients to 'sleuth' out the real causes for their affliction. At the same time, he doesn't leap to conclusions or dictate your remedy. Instead he leaves you the client in the 'driver's seat', engaging you to take a realistic stance on how your own behaviors can help your body stay out of trouble. He's your partner in your care from a truly whole person standpoint. Very rare and refreshing these days. We can't always get immediate positive results when we seek health care - no practitioner can guarantee that. But at least we should be able to expect care and advice that comes from a thoughtful and compassionate human being who is driven towards results for your benefit by all means available to that practitioner based on the scope of their practice. I no longer hold that expectation in my dealings with modern health care in America, but I still get that and much more in my experiences with Dr. Griffith. Dr. Griffith is an amazing physician. I feel incredibly lucky to have found him in a time where most of the medical industry is focused on profits instead of patients. Dr. Griffith is different -- he prioritizes the patient. After I truly committed to following his treatment plan (which admittedly took me a few years), I can honestly say that I am a transformed person in body and mind. People I've known my whole life tell me that I've reverse-aged and that I look incredible. My chronic issues are under control and I feel great almost everyday. Dr. Griffith is not selling fake cures. He's a doctor akin to Oliver Sacks. Every patient is a human being, and also a puzzle to solve. Dr. Griffith is an amazing listener and an extraordinarily patient human being, yet he is also a great problem solver focused on scientific solutions. It took some time for him to get to know me and also for me to learn to listen and to trust him. I have an individualized treatment plan that he updates after each visit. It includes a combination of diet, lifestyle, traditional medicine, vitamins and supplements, and other habits and interventions. On one final note, I decided to leave this review after I saw some of the bizarre one-star reviews on here. I can only speak to my own experience, but those reviews don't resemble the doctor that I have come to know. Dealing with chronic medical issues can truly wear you down and make you feel hopeless, and I think a lot of us have been hurt by the medical industry. But, it's important to know that even an amazing doctor can't fix all of your problems in a single visit. Dr. Thomas Griffith is a outstanding Naturopath doctor that I would highly recommend. He listens while really caring , he takes the time to ask questions to determine how to proceed. I went to see him 3 years ago with a diagnosis of a frozen shoulder I could not lift my arm painful and frustrating . He suggested trying Dmso injections a (alternative treatment) with light arm exercises and lets just say it worked I was so happy I could lift and move my arm again. I recently seen him for acute to strong pain in my left hip and nothing would work to relieve the pain so I knew I needed to see Dr ,Griffith .I decided to have the Dmso injections again with other suggestions from him and after a few injections I have been pain free again now for almost 3 months. He believes in whole foods and taking whole food supplements as well and me being a Holistic Health Coach this is so important for me . Doc Griffith is my first choice for my primary health care! I appreciate the way he listens to me and then attends to what is going on. Dr. Griffith is by far one of the best doctors I've been to. I see another naturopath who referred me to see Dr. Griffith for IV treatments for low iron. I also see a MD who agreed with the course of treatment. I was nervous when I first started going as I also suffer from frequent panic attacks. Dr. Griffith was so understanding and compassionate. Him and his receptionist practically sat there with me the whole time my first treatment (there were no other patients). The office is clean and he is very punctual. I ended up buying some of his tinctures when I got bronchitis and sinus cold. They worked like magic and I have sent my friends and family to see him for any and all ailments. In the beginning I wanted to be able to like him. Shortly after a few visits it became apparent that he in fact is not a good dr for anyone on dshs. If you have money out of pocket he will be wonderful for you. He is also very easily influenced by money to distort and refuse a person services that they desperately need. I needed help as I have been injured, I was told that He would only refer my to one specialist per visit. When I asked him to fill out papers for the hen state program, his comments were, he needs more money, he doesn't like filling out dshs paperwork, therefore, he won't fill it out, I won't be approved for disability because he has MS and Cancer and they didn't approve him. Tom is an amazing doctor. He listens carefully to your concerns and then addresses these concerns with lab work. You will have to put in the effort to get your lab work done. As soon as the results from your lab work is received by the doctor you are notified by text or email to do a follow-up appointment for the reading. Dr Griffith not only listens but he tries to help in any way possible to relieve your pain. I have a degenerated neck disease and so he gives more than just one option to deal with pain. I'm satisfied with my health care and he also is not pushy with stuff to buy that he has on hand. He says if you can get it cheaper by Amazon than do so. Trigger Point Injections. I have to admit, the term worried me and I was skeptical.
