The doctor was on the phone at the time and it was clear. The dog was guarding his master. I didn't move and waited till the doctor was off the phone... he wanted to bring the dog around to meet me and encouraged me that he was friendly and actually OK to pet. Being a naturalist, I am reluctant to take the standard AMA approach to achieve overall well-being, unless necessary. To summarize, in 1999 I was a 15 year old high school athlete. One day playing soccer, my vision disappeared for 5-10 minutes. This became a routine thing every 2-3 days, without any given trigger or correlation. I went to my family practice doctor, allergist, neurologist, ophthalmologist, and finally a neurosurgeon (too see if it was related to an eye issue I was born with). I was given many answers of what it "could" be.... Over a 2-3 year period, I tried 5-6 different medications, all with limited efficacy, and a plethora of side effects. Eventually I learned to deal with the issue, as the medications weren't worth the high cost, or side effects. Life was rough, but manageable (going blind every 2-3 days without warning).
