I am so GRATEFUL to have found Dr. Vu Tran's practice!!!! I am 29 years old and have always had Lordosis. I have always hated it becuase it makes my stomach stick out (just doesn't look pretty to me). Along with my Lordosis, I had constant pain revolving around my lower back, butt, and all of the right side of my body, temple, neck, shoulder, traps, shoulder blade, down my arm and leg. I have gone to many practices in the past for over 5 years and although I get some relief, the pain always comes back. Additionally, I have gone to physical therapists and chiropractors to help with my lordosis and all have said that they were unable to treat it. I was referred to Dr. Tran by my primary care dr and she only had great things to say. I went home and immediately contact him and he was able to fit me in the following week. After the first visit, I noticed a substantial amount of pain subsided. After the second visit, I noticed a physical difference in my posture and the way I walked. My very good friend recommended Dr. Tran after I had an injury to my index left finger. At first I thought it was silly to seek treatment for one finger. However, after consulting with Dr. Tran, I felt comfortable having a session with him as he was very thorough in his explanation and treatment. He made some adjustments and used and instrument to manipulate blood flow to the joint. Thereafter, he gave after care instructions and so far so good. My finger has pretty much gone back to normal. Dr. Vu Tran has made a huge impact in my life. Fifteen years ago I fractured a vertebrae in my back while snowboarding in Vermont. I then lived in NJ and was under the care of medical doctors. I was on disability for a year and was told by my "doctors" that I will be in pain for the rest of my life. The vertebrae spaceing had changed because of the injury so my back would never be the same. Their treatment was a regement of narcotic painkillers and anti-inflamatories. These drugs changed my personality and ruined my perception of myself. I lived this way for eight years until I moved to California and met Dr. Tran at a farmers market. Vu is very educated and comitted to his practice and patients. There were times that I was in extreme pain to the point where my motion was limited. I called him more than once outside of office hours and he met me at the office for an emergency treatment which got me moving again. He is constantly continuing his education in the chiropractic field as well as in other fields related to personal wellness. He helped me get off of all the pain medication I was addicted to. I started seeing Dr. Tran after a friend referred me because she knew I would benefit from his services because of the kind of work I do. I'm a fitness trainer and I'd had an unpleasant experience with a chiropractor several years ago. Needless to say, I was a little skeptical, but after meeting Dr. Tran I decided to give him a chance. I've been to a few other chiropractors and Dr. Vu has been the first to address larger problems when it comes to my symptoms and why I keep having issues. He spends more time on me than any other chiro I've had and he's up front about his approach. I started with pretty severe back pain (herniated disc) and was going 3 times a week. If you need a real, physical, cracking chiropractor...Dr. Tran is it! If that's not your cup of tea then try a sports doc who does some of the adjustments but then gives you bands, tapes and exercises to work on. Not saying dr. Tran won't give you that advice (because he will and has) but he will really adjust you and is well worth the time. First adjustment is thorough and he points out a lot (ie misplacements, where most of the adjustments will be and how to beat avoid future injuries)...the follow ups are good adjustments and will listen to any of your concerns that cropped up - since the last adjustment. I keep coming to Dr. Tran...even after moving away from the bay! Well worth it. read more

When I met Dr. Tran over a year and a half ago, I had been grinding my teeth at night for 6 months, and had daily jaw, neck, and shoulder pain resulting from it. I was frustrated by the dentists recommendation for a custom mouth guard, and realized that would be a treatment of a symptom rather than the root cause of the issue. Dr. Tran helped to re-align my jaw, loosen muscle tension, teach me practices to implement at home, and also talked with me about stress, life events, being too busy, and the value of slowing down and creating time for ourselves in this busy world within which we exist. I have never met or seen a doctor who cared so much about all aspects of his patient's life- and would never respond with "that's not my domain". Dr. Tran listens, responds, explains things clearly and simply, and respects the patients choices and perspectives about their own health journey. His practice is a true integration of body-mind-spirit care, and he embodies this philosophy in his own life, evident to any who interact with him. These reviews were pretty similar to my experience with Dr. Tran. I had met him through a recommendation of a friend, and I highly trust word of mouth recommendation. My first visit with Dr. Tran was very in-depth where he took notes and asked a lot of questions. He was able to explain and inform in details why my back problems happen and gave a realistic time frame of treatment. He explained every steps of what he's doing and is very friendly the whole time. In addition to his adjustments, he also recommended yoga in combination with regular adjustments to help with my problem, and I must say, I am convinced! My pain level has improved greatly, and I'm much looser than before! The office location is nice, and street parking is easy. They have so many magazines in the waiting room, but I could never read any because I never had to wait very long. read more

Dr Tran is an incredible chiropractor. I've gone to him since I gave birth to my son and then my daughter. I had been suffering from lower back pain post-births and he fixed me right up. Dr. Tran came highly recommended by a friend-of-a-friend, and he is great! I initially came to see him for a herniated disk in my neck that was causing my forearm and fingers to get all numb and tingly. By the time I finally made it into his office, I was in a ton of pain and could barely turn my head. My capacities for sleep, work, and rock climbing were all hindered, and I was pretty miserable. Dr. Tran conducted a thorough examination and treatment in my first appointment, and was super informative about what I could expect in terms of the frequency and progression of treatment. He also walked me through several PT exercises to do on my own in between appointments. He fixed that neck issue and has worked with me on and off for the past few years to resolve a wide variety of acute pain and mobility issues. Dr. Tran is my first chiropractor and has been adjusting my hip and back for the past 2 years. He carries gentle aura and takes great tender care of my adjustments. He's informative, always explains to me which part of my body is out of alignment and how it impacts other muscles in my body. I've been going to Dr. Tran for about 6 months now and I've had a great experience with him! I've seen other chiropractors and physical therapists for my scoliosis when I was younger and never have I gotten as thorough of an experience as with Dr. Tran. He explains everything in detail and it really shows how much he knows and cares about his practice. He set me up to get discounted xrays of my back (which no chiropractor has done for me before) which helped me be able to see the problems with my spine as he explains them to me, and for him to create a clear plan of action. He is always very direct and detailed about what changes he hopes to see and when we don't need to have as frequent of sessions, all while constantly checking in with me about how I feel, whether the plan works for me financially, and if I have questions. I've been wary of chiropractors most of my life and have felt ripped off before. (At one consultation they wanted me to sign up for $3200 worth of work!! Another time I paid $120/hour for the chiropractor to hook my back up to an electric muscle stimulator and leave me there for 45 minutes.) It's been years since I visited a chiropractor because of this. I went to Dr. Tran a couple of months ago because I was desperate due to throwing my back out so badly I could hardly stand and was in a lot pain. A friend of a friend recommended him and I figured I had nothing to lose, and based on my previous experiences I felt I would know whether or not he was the real deal. Right off the bat Dr. Tran explained how he worked, that he really wanted to help me for the long run, and that he did not expect to have to see me more than a handful of times to make sure his adjustments were working properly. I told him I was skeptical and he basically said it was my choice whether or not I wanted to continue, but to let him adjust me and see what I thought. Needless to say I felt much better. He is good at explaining what he is doing, and recommending what I can do to keep my back issues from returning (and therefore having to return for adjustments), though he does recommend return visits a 3-4 times a year just to make sure everything is aligned properly. I've gone from being completely skeptical to now considering Dr. Tran's work as preventative back care. He is also very reasonably priced considering the fact that my medical coverage does not cover chiropractors. read more

I was referred to Dr. Tran because I was limping and in pain. The doctors recommended a knee replacement. Eight months later under the care of Dr. Tran, no knee replacement and I'm walking 4 miles in the woods :))). I also had neck pain and couldn't sleep at night and sometimes had spasms.
