***This place saved my life*** I cannot express how grateful I am for Dr. Collins-Bride and the whole team here at The Source Chiropractic! I originally had some skepticism surrounding chiropractors in general since I had a prior negative experience many years ago at a different practice. Now, I highly recommend chiropractic treatment to anyone and everyone!!! I previously had back surgery when I was 18 years old and now, 10+ years later, my disc was herniated once again. The pain and exhaustion I experienced affected every single aspect of my life and I was at a breaking point. Luckily, we were able to find Dr. Collins-Bride through a mutual friend and he changed my life. My personalized treatment plan was very detailed (with progress videos!) and included regular check-ins with longer one-on-one sessions (see below). More than half-way through my treatment plan, I suffered an injury on the job and was completely devastated. Dr. Collins-Bride was so quick to adjust (pun intended ) my existing plan to accommodate my ultimate health goals post-injury. I paid for my original treatment plan upfront and I was not pressured to pay for my adjusted plan until my pre-paid sessions were completed. The majority of my appointments were held in the beautiful open floor plan- this can be intimidating at first, but once you're on the table it is more comfortable than you would think! The calming music is just loud enough that you can relax and also ensure conversation privacy between patients even though you may physically be in close proximity to one another. The friendly staff are very accommodating in all aspects- especially when it comes to scheduling appointments! I came to Dr Mara pretty desperate. I've had multiple surgeries over the past few years, and everything in my body was extremely tight and inflamed. Dr Mara has a gift for seeing the whole body and person, and then honing in on where to start to get everything untangled in a very gentle way. For example, I went with an extremely tight and sore neck, but it was through fascia release in my abdomen that I found the most relief in my neck (along with adjustments of course). I met Dr. Brian last year and we briefly talked about my back issues and concerns over my other problems, but didn't think to pursue treatment until recently. The Source Chiropractic is new to me and new to Oakland as this place originally used to be a dojo! Wouldn't be ironic if I used to attend the dojo and then had to attend this place to fix my injuries from that dojo? Aha! Even though that isn't the case, still a funny thought/tangent - The review itself - The staff is friendly, greets you by name, and the ambiance is peaceful as it is serene, in addition to a very diverse and young group of chiropractic professionals ready to help with your needs. My reason for going was due to the deal they had for $110 which included a free consultation/diagnosis, t-shirt, and an hour massage, sweet deal! The diagnosis involved a full body breakdown of my stance, posture, footing, walking, lateral movement and photos with video analysis of what needed to be adjusted/improved. Soon after receiving my diagnosis by Dr. Brian, who is very professional, knowledgeable, patient, and has such a warm-spirited attitude, - he carefully has been working with me to get my posture, shoulders, lower back, and hip imbalance (tightness, stiffness, old sport injuries, sedentary work lifestyle) in alignment. It's been about 7 adjustments now and I feel like I could dress up like Batman, fight crime all night and then go to a reggaeton club thereafter! Thank you! I normally see Dr. Brendan (always good) but today I saw Dr. Jordan and he was wiggling my ankles and legs and then asked, "Does this knee bother you?" It was my left knee. I said, "Yeah, that's my funky knee". Then he did a simple adjustment on it. It didn't feel like much at the moment but now I'm doing my before-bed stretches and putting weight on it in a lunge stretch and I haven't been able to do that in a long time without this strange discomfort, like something was sliding around.
