I knew he was going to be the contractor I chose because, when I told him I was looking for something Rustic Tuscan, he immediately said, Well there are three ways of achieving that effect---sponge technique, sandbrushing technique, and Venetian plaster. He listed the relative costs as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each. Next time we met (maybe two or three days later), he showed up with large samples of each technique with a couple different color options and variations. I liked that Francesco was always on time and made it a point to be helpful, professional, and polite during every interaction. Things continued to run smoothly as insurance certificates were provided and work began. Any time there was an unexpected issue---such as a pipe in a surprising place that would affect the placement of a mirror cabinet---Francesco would call to let me know and we would meet. He was very self-sufficient and completed the work at a good pace. Francesco applied Venetian plaster---one shade of yellow in the living room and a different shade of yellow in the bedroom, hallway, and foyer. He painted the bathroom and kitchen with semi-gloss celery green paint. In the bathroom, he repaired a water-damaged ceiling, took out an old and ailing mirror, rebuilt some of the wall as necessary, and installed a new beautiful mirror/medicine cabinet and light fixture. I told him before the job started that I wanted those Venetian plaster walls to look like a work of art. Francesco met and exceeded those high expectations. I believe Francesco is already in high demand and foresee him being in only higher demand in the very near future. We are probably catching what will soon be a very renowned interior painter/craftsman early in his career.

BRAVO. Francesco has an artist's eye for detail and perfection. He's also incredibly patient as we went through several color changes, one of them at literally the last minute-- and it didn't seem to phase him. He was completely professional throughout, and keeps a sense of humor and calmness which really helps when you're moving. We really appreciate Francesco's honesty. We wanted something "different" in the bathroom and had purchased wallpaper. Francesco explained the reasons he thought the paper was a bad idea, but wasn't critical. After researching the matter we discovered Francesco was totally right on. The paper would have been problematic down the line. Best of all, he came up with the perfect solution - a beautiful glaze! It takes two dozen screws to install - drilled into concrete. First, he took our money to make the order with a markup (fine). Then, "the wrong barrier came in and I'm waiting for a replacement". Next, "the barrier was in and he was going to schedule". Next, "the package with the barrier was stolen". He's never shown up, he took our money, he hasn't returned it. He's a horrible, horrible, incompetent crook. If you use him/them you'll be very sorry.

When he walked into our apartment, he immediately started sharing his thoughts on the approach he would take. He was clearly passionate about the project and he made us feel very comfortable from the beginning to the end of the process, which was a little over a week including the estimate and scheduling three days for prep work, painting and clean up. We met him on the final day of the project and he walked us through our apartment pointing out all the details, it looked great. After assuring me he was on our side and would help pursue a refund, he went completely dark, just like the flooring company. He also was a no show on his follow up "touch up day" and went radio silent thereafter.
