I had Zhenyu come to fill some drywall holes and drywall marks left by screws and tape, and paint over the holes and marks. Not only did he not fill the holes or marks properly, he used white paint they wasn't color matched to the existing paint, instead of painting just the small holes and marks he painted large streaks that left marks across all of my apartment's walls, and his paint job of my bathroom door was so poorly done as to be laughable. This guy has no idea what he's doing and should not be trusted for any paint job (and I'd be concerned about other work as well). I needed to replace an old, antique vintage wooden door that was not able to close properly given the vicissitudes of time.  I began making calls throughout the nation and immediately learned that the archaic dimension 30 x 84 or 32 x 84 (depending on the self-proclaimed expert you choose to listen to) was only available through custom order.  With our global supply chain issue, I would be lucky to get the product in three months.  Some said two months, but they were aggressive salespersons who didn't listen to my needs.  I kept making calls left and right and did not get anywhere.  My stress was magnified as New York City is experiencing an inexcusable crime wave and now the door replacement did not represent an aesthetic endeavor, rather a security issue of the first order.  Enter Mr. Zhenyu Zheng who I discovered on Yelp.  He asked to come over and made time later that same day.  he was never pushy and when he came over I was very impressed even though I didn't have any personal recommendations. As Twain once stated, "I respect faith but doubt is what gets me an education."  However, my family and agreed that he was the indicated person for the job.  In a manner that was not self-aggrandizing, he said he would be able to do a "perfect job."  His confidence and knowledge was inspiring.  He also indicated he could get a door we were looking for in about two weeks.  However, he convinced us that the door was sturdy and worth renovating.  He was right.  On a Sunday before Memorial Day, he came over and the door was much more challenging that anybody imagined as the frame also had some warping.  Once new hinges were placed and wood shaving was realized the lines to the naked eye were immaculately aligned.  He disassembled the door again, took it to the back garden with no drama and brought it back.  Still anticipating some issues with the lock, he persisted for another four hours, all the time not taking any bathroom breaks or even taking a sip of the cold water bottle I provided on an unseasonably hot spring day close to the beginning of summer.  He was a man of intelligent and action.  Schools do not produce individuals with true critical thinking skills like Mr. Zhenyu Zheng.  I do not like standing next to hard-working pros when they are engaging in repairing magic as I do not want them to think I do not trust them but my entire family discreetly observed Zhenyu as he worked.  As one loved one stated, "it's like watching a surgeon doing open heart surgery."  The door was 100% better and I was happy but he was not.  He calmly explained how shifting the locks would really make things perfect and I was concerned Mr. Zheng was going to lose another client with a larger, logically more lucrative project and he remained silent, allowing his actions to do the talking.  Wow !  I've never knew a door could open and close so smoothly and the painstaking attention to meticulous detail was a reflection of his imagination and multifaceted intelligences, including, architectural, emotional, athletic (knowing exactly what supplemental muscles to access upon twisting and turning on his own), intellectual, creative and dare I say interpersonal.  This man is a gem in both human and professional contexts.  We have already booked him for more work in less than seven days. read more
