Phoned in an order for pickup. Ordered two cheff specials, general tso. Same usual order. When I got home found that I was missing two soups. Called them and was told soups did not come with the cheff special. The girl just wanted to argue, no apology just kept arguing. Dragon Den sits on the corner inconspiculously tucked away, but what awaits is an affordable treat for your taste buds! I couldn't beleive the amount of food that we got for the price. We have been on the look for some great Chinese food and I believe that we have found a great place to come back to. I have since been here twice and both times ate the sweet and sour soup which was deliciously nice and hot. For my entree I went with Lo Mein with chicken and it is more food than I could eat by far. I'm from out-of-state and began searching for a good Chinese place. It was lunch-time and the words "Dragon" and Den came up so I had to take a look. Their website will make you LOL as there is no info of address or phone number, just a menu. Anyway-- I decided to order my go-to which was Hunan Beef, Wonton Soup, and Eel Roll. I took the lunch special and paid around $15 for food worth more than I could eat. THE FOOD: I have to say, I was quite impressed with the quality of the food. The soup had just the right amount of saltiness and wasn't straight up chicken broth with no taste. The little dumpling pieces were also good so the soup passes. Hunan Beef - the best part is the beef tasted like actual beef, not the imitation beef you get from other places that tastes like rubber and chews like gum. The sauce hit the right spot, having a hint of spiciness and veggies well cooked well enough they weren't falling apart. EEL SUSHI: Man, this was $6 but it was hella good. It looked fresh, tasted great and was worth the money I paid for it. Interior: It's a small shop that shows the owners actually put a bit of effort to cozy it up to the Chinese feel and doesn't look as cheap as you'd expect. Plus there is a small sushi station for patrons to see so that is also nice. Bottom LINE: This is definitely a place you should try if you're in the area for lunch. If it's dinner and you're with a date, go somewhere else. As take-out though (lunch, dinner) I'd order from here every time I was in the mood for Chinese. I originally gave them 4 stars but then I recalled what 4-star restaurants are from where I'm from and I like this spot better. Not necessarily the best Chinese/Asian food in West Knoxville, but they do have the best Cashew Chicken. Egg Rolls and the Hot n Sour soup are also top notch. It's a small place, and easy to miss. We had the double-cooked pork and the happy family. The pork was tough, dry, and very inexpertly cut, the cabbage overcooked and tough. The thick brown sauce was tasteless except for the MSG. The happy family tasted exactly the same, just MSG. Both dishes were supposed to be hot (red pepper hot) and weren't. We went there because I chanced to meet their shopper at the big Asian grocery store (Sunrise Market), and he was buying some tasty Chinese vegetables, none of which were on the restaurant's menu. As soon as u walk in you enjoy their simple yet elegant asian designs and decor. Was welcomed with a friendly attitude and a lovely smile. Is a family own restaurant so mom works the floor and teen daughter works drinks and register while dad and other family do kitchen duty. The Veg eggroll was excellent! well season, crispy and delish just the veggies were a bit over cooked for my taste but all in all soo delish. Ckicken on stick...was oh my!!! so great!!! It has been hard for me to find this the way i like it! But this was it...super great seasoning and sweet amd savory perfectly crisp and dark meat was moist n at the same time sweet and tangy.... just perfect! Chow mei fun- light on the seasoning and basic in looks but not greasy n full of flavor... love it simple and elegant. The sweet and sour ckn was mmmmmmmm very crispy and perfectly fried the breading tasty and sauce is citrusy with hints of pineapple... excellent... I eat here at least once a week. I had a horrible experience with Grubhub today and they were my go to. I wasn't thinking clearly when I placed my order and forgot to order low mein noodles. I order beef and broccoli and lo mein noodles with a large hot and sour soup. My order rarely changes . Well I placed my order and the woman called me back to see if I wanted low mein noodles . I was really impressed she knew to ask. I said yes and she informs me that will change my price . Which I tell her is no big deal. They are on point for customer satisfaction and service . This is the best chinese food in Knoxville. I have no idea what the prior reviewers are talking about, but I limit my selections to General Tso's chicken, hot and sour soup, and egg rolls. I go every time I am in Knoxville, and ate here at least once a week when I lived in Ktown for about 12 years. The General Tso's is great, the hot and sour soup is the best I've had anywhere, and their egg rolls are outstanding. They make their own mustard and plum sauce and put them on the table for you, and both are excellent. The mustard is quite spicy, but I dig that. They have all you can eat platters for about $8 and you can have as many sides and plates of food as you can eat for lunch or dinner (dinner costs a bit more, of course). Like I said, I limit what I get here, as I tend to stick with what I know I like, and what I order is always awesome. What other reviewers have had may not be good, but-- absolutely awesome place for hot and sour soup, general tsos chicken, and egg rolls. This place is full of epic win. read more

New to the area and this is the first Chinese restaurant we've tried. The atmosphere was decent, they do have a beautiful fish tank. Service was excellent, our hostess greeted us promptly and our waitress was friendly with a great sense of humor. The food was excellent! My husband and I love this Chinese restaurant. We usually pay a visit several weekends a month and we certainly don't mind driving the extra distance to get great Chinese food. The waitress knows our drink order as soon as we walk in the door and she automatically remembers to bring me a cup of egg drop soup before I make my meal order. They have the best homemade egg rolls and I am absolutely obsessed with their General tso chicken and hibachi tofu! The waitress had recommended my husband to try the black pepper beef and shrimp drunken noodle which were both delicious as well.
