Still trying to find a really good sushi restaurant in East Tennessee and this wasn't it. The portion size was well worth the price and the staff was fast and responsive to needs. Gyoza was our appetizer and was very tasty and again the portion size was worth the cost. We got the eel roll and we had to look for the eel. The spicy tuna roll was spicy and was of good quality and taste. The rainbow roll was fresh but the fish and avocado was thin. Overall, the food and service was good for a one time experience. Went for lunch because of the great reviews, but can't really see why it is rated that high. This is your average Chinese place. Had shrimp and veggies. "Sauce" didn't taste much but salt. The beef and broccoli was better though, but nothing out of the ordinary. Not that it matters as far as the taste goes, but vegetables were cut in fairly large pieces, and no knife was provided. The hot & sour soup tastes like BBQ sauce... Weird. On the positive note: Staff was friendly, service was really, really quick, and vegetables were crisp and fresh (even saw them cutting fresh veggies in the back). My husband and I tried Dragon Den for the first time last night and very much enjoyed it. It's the quietest restaurant I've ever been to, was so crazy! I think the waitress was new and still learning the menu but was so nice and attentive. Our water glasses didn't even make it to halfway empty before getting a refill which I very much appreciate. The review that said they are freaky fast like Jimmy Johns was not exaggerating. I got my egg drop soup (which was just okay) and was taking my first bite when my egg roll came out. Less than a minute later my general tso arrived. I usually like time to finish soup before my main dish arrives but it was so hot that it didn't matter. By the time I finished my soup, my chicken was still hot so it was okay. Out of the few Chinese restaurants I've been to in Knoxville, they have the best general tso. Little Bangkok in Farragut has the best egg drop soup I've found but dragon den's price and service outweighed little Bangkok. Our meal was around $20 less than eating at little Bangkok. Dragon Den has the good fried noodles for soup too but next time I think I'll try wonton soup. My husband had hot and sour soup and I tasted it and liked it. Both of us enjoyed our meals and we will return there next time we want Chinese. Majority of the time we get Chinese we do carry out so I'll be interested to see how that goes. My fingers are crossed because little Bangkok has the worst carry out service in Knoxville, I want a good Chinese carry out! Anyway, definitely recommend. Best Chinese around! The prices are much better than Fulin's, and the food is too. Their menu doesn't have any big surprises, but everything that we've ever had has been great! My kids love the lo mein and spring rolls best of all. Their fried rice is great, lots of veggies and protein. The Singapore noodles are a family favorite, especially with extra chili oil! This used to be my favorite Chinese spot, but I went back today for the first time in years (I grew up close by, so I used to eat it all the time), and all the food was totally different and subpar at best. I'm pretty sure this used to be only Chinese, and it was fantastic, but now it's a fusion with Japanese and Thai offerings as well. Steer clear of anything fried if you do eat here, because that stuff has gone the most downhill. I'm sad my favorite Chinese food is gone. Finally posting a review to remind myself after 4 or 5 times of ordering from here that this is one of the worst Chinese takeout places I've ever eaten from. Poor quality as well as overpriced. Ordered Crab Rangoons which most of the filling came out of during cooking. The fried rice lacks vegetables and flavor. The General's chicken was overcooked and smothered in sauce. The sweet and sour chicken was served on a bed of vegetables, for garnish I assume, but this made them less crispy. This seems to be the standard each time I've ordered from here. read more

It was edible, but most wasn't what I would consider okay-good Chinese food. We had the crab Rangoon (no crab, no flavor), pork dumplings (those were fine), and the hibachi steak and shrimp. First of all, hibachi is a stretch. Second, I don't think it was actually steak, but teriyaki chicken. Too much sauce, over cooked, and gross so I didn't finish it. Rice was not fried rice as advertised, the shrimp was okay. Vegetables were overcooked and the sauce was bad. Everything had a lot of grease on it, too. Would not try again. read more

I ordered delivery from this restaurant and was surprised by how quickly it arrived. That's one thing they have going for them at least. The delivery guy was polite and friendly and the food was hot and fresh. The problem is that it didn't taste good. I ordered the pad thai and it pretty much tasted like ketchup and peanut butter. The drunken noodles were better but not by a lot. Not sure about the other food on the menu but I'd steal clear of the pad thai and the drunken noodles if you plan to eat here. read more

Not much on atmosphere, but these folks can cook. We've had two suppers here so far: we were looking for a good, low-priced Chinese restaurant out in West Knoxville, and this is it. We've had the General Tso's chicken, Sesame Chicken, and a few others, and all have been delicious and very well-made. The egg rolls are quite tasty and fresh. The hot and sour soup could be just a bit more sour, but it was still pretty good. Two iced teas, two combo entrees (soup, egg roll, white rice and main) and the bill was around $23. Plus the waitress was nice, fast, and really knew her job. We'll be back! read more

I'll borrow from the other guy and caveat my review that this is 5 stars for Knoxville, so like relative humidity, this place is relatively 5 stars to the other places I've tried in town, and it's been a background hobby of mine to seek out my new favorite place for Chinese food, so I've tried many of our local options before crowning this one my best all around. I also agree with the other reviewer that said skip the egg rolls here - for whatever reason, those were just not good, but the hot & sour soup was a good take on that dish, the dumplings and sauce were fantastic, the general Tso's chicken tasty, slightly spicy, and seemed to be made with decent chicken. Oh and the table sauces - I put a bunch of that hot mustard on the chicken and it really kicked up the flavor, would do that again next time. I wish I lived closer to this place, but I'll make the drive for good solid food like this. read more

Really wanted to love this place, as I had never ordered from them before and I have yet to find a Chinese delivery I can count on. The pictures looked good, reviews decent to positive but I was not at all excited with my experience. I had two friends in town and just wanted some good Chinese to lay around and watch movies after the weekend. The delivery took almost two hours, even though they told me on the phone it would be up to an hour, I agreed.. but 2 hours? Needless to say, we were starving. After it finally arrived, we were happy to see so much food, packaged nicely, looking tasty and very fair portioned. I had the chicken fried rice , which looked great! then turned out super super dry I barely ate any. I tried to warm some up later and it just turned it into pellets. Sesame chicken and sweet/sour chicken also looked awesome to the eye but lifeless, dry and no taste. Obviously, the length of time for its "long" 3 mile journey to my place killed any chance the food had, I assume. I have. I don't know what happened but no phone call, no apologies, etc. after 2 hours, Its safe to say you are about to offer customers a bad food experience, so why take the chance. It's not a pizza in a space bag, it's fried or sautéed style items that have cooked in hot oils. Once they cool down and sit, forget about it. Bummer. Then again, maybe the food made it to me on a super short drive and this is just how is prepared. I hate to say don't eat here (one experience shouldn't define all..but it is tough to ruin chick fried rice!) ..definitely be weary of having it delivered. I expected this place to be really good based on the reviews, but I was disappointed by my experience. The service was not very good. They asked me what I wanted to eat as soon as I sat down, and didn't give me time to look at the menu. And when I asked for more time, the server seemed irritated and walked away. I ordered the Sesame Chicken, and it was not good at all. The sauce was very pasty, the whole dish actually was room temperature and did not seem fresh. Went for lunch, ordered General Tso chicken and wife ordered teriyaki chicken. Both were pretty much the same; sauce on both was sweet and too heavy. Didn't eat it all. Service was slow and we were one of two couples in the place. Took a long time to get refills on drinks and two gals (guessing owner and/or manager was one of them) was working vegetables at a nearby counter and could see our drinks were empty. ******* before you read below review just know that after this experience the manager was very prompt as to contacting us to rectify the situation. He was very apologetic and wanted to make sure that we knew how sorry he was. He did credit our money back from our purchase, we are waiting now to see if we will receive some type of gift certificate so we can give them one more try to see if the experience next time is 100% better from what we have just endured. Once we receive that I will be 100% certain that the Dragon Den is somewhere that you would enjoy the food, experience, and the overall quality they are trying to offer..... hopefully this situation has helped them to understand that service is everything not just a job it's an attitude to want to serve people with a smile So I got home from work late and my wife wanted to get Chinese for me because I had a long day at work (doing hvac) .... we placed our order at 8:33pm, they close at 9:30 so plenty of time to deliver to our house. We waited patiently after being charged a good amount for a full order for a family of four. Mind you I am starving at this point, we never had anyone show up so we tried calling at 9:30pm, unfortunately this is when they close, so after attempting to contact them , after they stole our money, nobody would even answer the phone!!!! Absolutely unexceptable, so take our money, starve our family and worst of all be completely unprofessional..... I am usually pretty reasonable however no call, no show, completely criminal! They had one job to do-deliver the food we paid for and ordered, I hope they straighten this out and I will revisit this review and update all on how they tried to fix the problem, at this point if they don't make it right We will go to whatever extremes to make sure they don't EVER do this to anyone else--- VERY DISSATISFIED So update ..... ok so they finally showed up an hour and 40 minutes later.... food was absolutely terrible, crab rangoon was rubbery couldn't even bite through it without it feeling like a sponge. Of course there is no tip in this transaction just due to the circumstances. When the guy grabs the receipt he's like " so your cheap" no offense you tip to people that do there job. I myself am in the service industry some things are just unacceptable! So I was like cheap? Asked the question " what time did we place our order? 8:39... oh 8:39 and what time is it ? Oh 10:20 Unacceptable! Foods cold, kids are starving, yea me too ... got the point DONT ORDER FROM DRAGONS DEN! His response is I had 25 deliveries..? Ok so that means a person pays 40$ and gets crappy service because your understaffed? C'mon really ... I'm not trying to be mean just realistic., if you can't do your job then why are you claiming you can..... like I said before I get it but if your response is your cheap because you've already invested in a company that cannot perform to simple expectations Then I've already invested to much.
