She did an absolutely amazing job and I would strongly recommend Barclay Papers to any bride or groom. Pace was patient and responsive as I worked with her remotely from Washington, D.C., mostly by email, and she went out of her way to make the wedding stationery special and stylish--each item was modern but classic, and took what I'd had in mind and made it so much better looking than I could even have envisioned. Each item was distinct, with different levels of formality (a cute postcard for the farewell brunch; thank-you notes with our monogram that can be used for wedding or any other occasion; elegant wedding invitations and RSVPs), but all perfectly coordinated. Pace also went out of her way to find and match the font from the logo of the winery where we were engaged; she had good advice on questions of etiquette (invitation wording, etc.) and quantities (fewer programs than I would've ordered--and she was right!); when the colors of the first samples weren't quite right, she tried other printers until she found one that could do the dark-background cards true to color; she provided a digital image of the invitations to upload to glosite.com so that our e-invites (for our more tech-savvy guests) would match the paper ones exactly; and she worked with me to select invitation type, paper stock, etc. to keep the costs reasonable. I was absolutely thrilled with the process of designing my wedding papers with Barclay Papers and with the timeless and stylish results.

I bought a Bruno Visconti journal and fell in love, came back and bought some more. Returned and they were sold out, the employee was so helpful and let me know I could put in a request for their buyer to order more. She filled out a request sheet and took my information so that they can call me when it comes in. But this is so much more than a place to buy journals. They have a huge pen selection, including some fancy ones. Their seasonal/holiday decor is always so unique and fun. They have a huge kids section and I will be popping in whenever I need a gift. AND stickers. They have a wall of a ton of stickers! They have a party section, greeting cards, gifts for adults and children, and they also make custom paper products like invitations + more. The selection is great, the prices are affordable and nothing feels overpriced, but what really sticks out here is the great staff. (I believe this is a locally owned- women owned business! I also find gorgeous paper goods for table settings made by Hester & Cook, journals by Leuchtturm that invite me to realize "writing by hand is thinking on paper." It is a joy to look at their gift wrapping paper, but this I eschew in favor of vintage silk and polyester scarves that I buy in lots online. This is a solid source of terrific picture frames, seasonal decorations, and amusements for kids, such as stickers and paper dolls. I don't believe I have ever walked out of the store empty-handed. Parking can be a bit of a challenge given the store proximity to Central Market.

While trying to understand how to make it work with the available printer, I asked a few questions--mainly about layout and how many cards could fit per sheet of paper. The approach I originally had in mind wasn't compatible with their setup, so I was simply trying to brainstorm a workable alternative. To my surprise, Jesse at the front counter told me I was being rude. I'm genuinely unsure how it came across that way, as I remained calm throughout, didn't raise my voice, and wasn't upset--just asking a lot of questions, attempting to find a solution. Unfortunately, based on that experience, I wouldn't recommend using this business.

The Pink Tulip was the absolute perfect choice for our wedding, and helped to make our big day…read moretruly amazing. Lauren was attentive, patient, and gave us the confidence we needed to know our wedding would be perfect. When we were figuring out print options, we knew ours would be a little more tricky, because we got our tattoo artist to design custom tattoos for our table numbers. Because of that, we had a lot of prints, and we knew they all had to be perfect to show off the table numbers. At every turn, Lauren was more than helpful, and was able to show us multiple proofs of exactly what our brochures, bar signs, table numbers and everything else would look like. Her attention to detail gave us confidence everything would come out perfect, and it did just that! In addition, we had assigned tables for our guests, so we had a seat chart. She was so flexible on working with us, as we got married on December 3rd. Being the week after thanksgiving, we had several changes to our list last minute, and Lauren was always gracious and never made us feel stressed about those changes. I would absolutely recommend Lauren and The Pink Tulip, because I know first hand what an amazing job they do!
