UPDATE: After I posted this review on Google, Jesse sent me an email that they were going to sue me for slander. Eek I stopped into the store today after having already placed a business card order, hoping to explore options for printing on some additional cards or envelopes. While trying to understand how to make it work with the available printer, I asked a few questions--mainly about layout and how many cards could fit per sheet of paper. The approach I originally had in mind wasn't compatible with their setup, so I was simply trying to brainstorm a workable alternative. To my surprise, Jesse at the front counter told me I was being rude. I'm genuinely unsure how it came across that way, as I remained calm throughout, didn't raise my voice, and wasn't upset--just asking a lot of questions, attempting to find a solution. Unfortunately, based on that experience, I wouldn't recommend using this business. read more

Man, are there a ton of places to get business cards these days. Online. Locally. Even then, the prices range DRASTICALLY. For the same project, I had quotes ranging from $35-$150. Crazy. Well, I decided to try the Print Shoppe. Terry was prompt in providing me with an itemized quote. Dawn was prompt in developing and sending a proof of my business card. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The ordering process made me nervous, but it turned out to be very efficient and easy. I emailed my art (logo and sketch of the business cards) and specifications for the layout, font, text, colors, etc. Due to the time sensitivity of the job, I called the next morning to confirm that the Print Shoppe had accessed my emailed files and the we were on course for my projected pick-up date. Dawn fielded my questions and called back to inform me that my files were received and that my proof was being drafted. Now THAT's service. Due to color specifications, I came into the shop to review my proof in person. The color was a bit darker than I intended, so Dawn pulled up 3 proofs with slight variations of the intended color. She printed them out and gave me ample time to review them. Mind you, I arrived at 4:45pm and the shop closes at 5pm. Dawn was very patient, attentive, and friendly. I approved my proofs and picked them up the next day. My business cards are a little on the flimsy side (absolutely not cheap, just not the thickest paper). I don't know what options there are for paper, however, I'll ask for a thicker material when I print my next batch of cards. read more

I needed some invitations for an event and didn't know what l was doing really. I called them and made an appointment to brainstorm. I went in and we picked paper, size, design, etc. I ended up with a beautiful custom invitation with silver embossing (one of the cool terms i learned). I have used The Print Shoppe many times for my employer's print jobs and for my clients' print jobs. The business cards I have ordered from them are great quality! I researched prices online and decided to keep the order locally since I wanted to see a hard proof beforehand. I ended up using The Print Shoppe because they were local and relatively inexpensive. People have told my client that her business cards are the best they have seen in her industry (I like to take some credit for that since they are my custom design but some of the credit goes to The Print Shoppe for the print quality). An excellent print shop, great customer service. As a graphic designer and former print shop color stripper I was really impressed with their color knowledge. When working in cmyk, i usually manually tweak my color percentages in photoshop but I find the resident color nerd Jesse, gets a lot better colors, especially the problem colors like greens, purples and blues/cyans. He says he uses AI to tweak the colors! I have found that digital presses lacking versus traditional sheetfed results. But their digital press is excellent, super high screen ruling, large flat areas of flat color totally perfect, no bands, even density consistently, I was really impressed. I have a client that requires the highest commitment in printing eco responsibility and Jesse and his team is totally immersed in that direction, paper, ink, everything. If you are a designer with exacting expectations in print quality, this is your place. If you need to get it done in any way you can imagine, this is your place. read more

I first went to The Print Shoppe to have some custom thank you cards printed from one of our wedding pictures. I loved that I would get a sample printed before committing to the job. Since then I have gotten my business cards and some other marketing materials printed for my business. The prices are reasonable (although I don't have much to compare it to but I do feel they are fair) and you get excellent, personalized customer service! Dawn has been such a pleasure to work with! She is so patient, quick to respond, and very attentive! I recently needed something printed last minute (I went in Wednesday and needed it by COB Friday). I would have been understanding if it couldn't be done but Dawn made it happen! I got an email that it was ready that same day! I bought expensive invitations to use for a bridal shower, thinking I could print them myself (to get into specifics, I only had a DAY to get the invitations out in the mail). My home printer kept eating my test runs and I didn't know what to do! I called the Print Shoppe and they assured me they could handle the order and the odd paper size. They did a beautiful job on 20 invitations in less than 24 hours - and the price came out to about a doller per invitation, which seems competitive to me. The shop where I bought the invitations could have completed printing for 70 cents each with about a 6 day turnaround. I couldn't wait that long. One caveat: there are some old school people at the shop who may not talk computer with you at first. This isn't criticism - these people obviously know their stuff when it comes to custom printing. The first person I spoke with on the phone didn't understand when I asked if I could email my Word doc file with the invitation text to them; he asked me to bring in a printout. When I arrived with the invitations and printout, Amy the Angel informed me that typesetting the text from my hard copy would be more expensive, but instead gave me her card with an email address so that I could send the Word doc from my computer. Found this business by searching on internet. I run a small non profit in austin and had a small printing job that I needed completed. It's a small, unassuming place .. Kinda far out for me( just past Barton creek mall ) relative to distance from work but I gave it a shot. Very simple, uncomplicated and way cheaper than going to office max which we had done for years in past. The end product was about 150 booklets that was compiled on stories, poems and other submissions written by our students with autism who have communication challenges. Each year we put out this booklet but we wanted some changes that was going to cost incredibly more and require me to do a lot of legwork looking for the right stock of paper for this project. Well, the print shop got it done, timely and much more cost effective. Prompt with reordering also. This was last fall and since then we have done two more projects with them. Horrible. Make sure you have a lawyer with you if you choose to do business there. They are dishonest and charged me $20 extra than what we originally discussed. When brining this to the owner, Amy, she refused to make things right. The Print Shoppe doesn't care for their customers. At the end of the year they will have lost thousands in work and recommendations I planned to send them for Amy's $20 penny counting. read more
