Drain Detective responded quickly and did an outstanding job on fixing our sub pump that was over flowing at 9:30pm on a Sunday!

At 3:45 the next day (today), I called their office to inquire - tech is on his way. The tech calls me at 4:05, I'm 30 minutes out!! I explain that is not going to work. I thought you were out front. The service manager then calls me (good) but I cannot make their time work. So as the customer, I (we) have no recourse but to use someone else. I need better communication and a strong commitment to service. I will NEVER use Nelson Brothers because of this experience because it's my only recourse. Applauld good service and shop elsewhere when it's not delivered.

I refused to e-sign till they specified in the quote the make and mode. I called them and the salesman told me they use Lochinvar and it would be the 50000 btu model. I look at the quote and it clearly said 40000 btu (no make or model)so I called and left a voicemail asking them to require with make and model on the quote. no response Till now

September 2025 Sean technician from Birmingham Plumbing Heating and Cooling replaced a frozen shut…read moreoff valve under our bathroom vanity. In a consultation several days beforehand, we had asked Sean to replace it like the cold water valve next to it had been replaced a few years before which would have entailed heating the fitting with a blow torch, sliding it off of the master water pipe coming out of the wall and soldering the new shut off valve onto the two and a quarter inch pipe coming out of the wall. Instead Sean decided to cut the old shut off valve off the mater pipe and cutting it to less than an inch from the wall and crimping a hodgepodge with 6 fittings prior to the new shut off valve. We conferred with another plumber of our concerns of our master water pipe being cut to less than an inch from the wall as well as all the fittings before the shut off. He confirmed our concerns that any future plumbing work would now entail removing part of the wall as well as part or all of the vanity. He did assure us that all the extra fittings would unlikely ever be a problem. I did talked by phone to the Dan the plumbing manager. He did assure me that the hodgepodge of fittings to the new shut off should be secure but did not listen to my concerns of my master hot water line being cut off to less than an inch from the wall and the future consequences it might entail for us. We are not satisfied that we were not a part of any decision to cut our master water line to less than an inch from the wall and crimping a hodgepodge of fittings onto it. It will also cost us dearly if any of this work needs to be changed or modified in the future

I have used them before, for a water heater that went bad, and they were fast to the rescue and I thought charged a somewhat reasonable price, but for things that most people could do themselves, but decide to hire it out - their prices are ridiculous. I would never use them again for a job like today's. As a female, working Mom, there was a time when I had to install my own garbage disposal - it wasn't easy for me, but I did it. Today, I am 20 years older and don't HAVE to do it myself, but the price was terrible!! Super disappointed in that about them.
